I met Robin around 1982 he came in the store where I was working. He was my customer, but we didn't have what he wanted. So he looked around a bit and bought something small. While I was ringing him up he started performing and my coworkers gathered around. It did seem like he felt compelled to perform.

I have always loved Morgan Fairchild.I had a TV crush on her years ago. My sister in law knew that & her brother got to work with her. He said that she was really nice & I can see that he was right. I am so glad she got to meet the nice guy that Robin was. I was just as nutty years ago, Robin always stayed that way. God I will miss him

I loved Robin but I'm wondering if people who feel compelled to always "perform" in front of two or more people lack self-esteem or self-confidence.
@justaniceguy9714
@justaniceguy9714 10 лет назад
For some, I would say it is a mechanism...Robin himself said he was a shy and quiet kid until he got in to performing...it was his way of coming out of his shell. But is it a rule? Hard to say...I don't hold a very high opinion of myself...shy...not very self-confident....but I would never dream of "performing" in front of people...2 or 2000...to me it would just make me the center of attention and that isn't what I want...I dread it, actually.....I used to manage a department store with about 25 employees...one on one I could talk for hours with these people but put them all in the same room for a staff meeting and I would be a wreck.....
@pallyden0110
@pallyden0110 10 лет назад
No, its not self esteem. Its an incredible shyness. Think of a child who is coaxed to come out fro his shell, because he is incredibly kind, nice, gentle, & utterly beautiful inside & out, some want to enjoy, smile, & love, and others are so broken inside, they can't help to try to destroy him. If can't consider a child or a man being that way, Consider Jesus & what we did to Him.

If Morgan Fairchild, and Loni Anderson were actors' from the UK. Morgan can barely smile! PS: some of us like to watch the Helen Mirrens to age gracefully.

she actually was doing pretty good for a while, like I remember when she was on friends playing Chandlers mom, looking super great, but yes in the last years way to much of the facial work, and it's starting to show big time. Oh well we can remember her from the younger days and enjoy I guess.

What are you talking about she looks fantastic for her age..
@THEDUDE912
@THEDUDE912 10 лет назад
stockjonebills Exactly she's like 64. I was just thinking what a fantastic and tactful use of plastic surgery. It seems like some people don't comprehend that people age at all. And then again some people like that poster are just ass munches. This is about Robin Williams anyway. Sad to see him go although I was mostly a fan of his dramatic stuff. His role in The Fisher King was brilliant and somehow now seems close to home as playing one who battled his "demons". Bipolar Disorder is quite the burden. I had a friend with the condition who killed himself the same way. It's hard to say which is worse, the manic or depressive phase. I always sensed something was just not quite settled with Robin but I think this took us all by surprise. Sad but that is often the way of mental illness and addiction in the modern world. I hope he finds "What Dreams May Come" all to be sweet. Rest in peace Robin. .

stockjonebills I guess you are into plastic and fake women, no problem, whjatever makes you happy! I just wanted to point out that surgery makes it more worse, in her case, she looks like her face is melting. But hey if she is happy and the guys get a blast seeing her face look like that of Pinokkio who cares./
@Pfirtzer
@Pfirtzer 10 лет назад
THEDUDE You ar right, behind that zany face and the laughter there was a lonely and haunted man. People think when one is rich and famous you have to be happy. In the world where he lived as a child and adult, being positive and laugh was pivotal, but when you are unhappy and empty there is no one that can make you happy. It's a state of vast emptyness. I was fond of Bicentennial Man and, also of his role in Insomnia, one hour photo and final cut, the more serious parts he played.His voices in animations wonderful also his stand up. I will miss him, truely miss him, he has same humor as I do, I used to be depressed so I know the feeling of not wanting to live but I guess I am too stubborn to commit suicide :D Robin was not a coward, but it takes a man to do the thing he did! Sad for his children, and the one who loved him, hope his death makes peoplke realise that a bi-polaire disorder is dangerous and not just being a bit down.

Yeah Lance..unfortunately. Excuse the previous rudeness. You know I was reading something. www.patheos.com/blogs/acitizenofearth/2014/08/the-other-side-of-poor-robin-williams/ The writers basic thought I've often reflected on. Talking about Robin Williams. There really are worlds within this world. I do agree in a conceptual way, that Robin just ran out of steam. This world can be pretty mundane for these kind of people.

Sorry but im not buying into this great guy! What example did he leave for our younger generation? Suicide is a good way to go out? I can go on and on about the negative impact he left behind but im not.. Im just not happy with people that go out the easy way and the road they pave for others that need support. RIP....
@justaniceguy9714
@justaniceguy9714 10 лет назад
I can kinda see your point but I guess until we are able to get inside the heads of people in this situation, can we say it's good or bad? Like people who steal food....are they doing it because it's an easy way to get stuff? Or are they doing it because they are hungry? Doesn't excuse it either way...just wondering the reasoning behind it. Using this example, I like to think Robin did it because he was hungry....he needed help and in his mind, this was the best solution he could come up with....
@THEDUDE912
@THEDUDE912 10 лет назад
I seriously don't believe that he was in a stable frame of mind and was probably suffering greatly. He had an illness called Bipolar Disorder. And I can certainly respect him more than some one who shoots up a movie theater because he can't get his meds right. One can be a great man and flawed. The best usually are. We're all human and we need to heal each other. Life is too short.
@refugiorod
@refugiorod 10 лет назад
THEDUDE Yes, we need to help heal each other, not set a bad example for each other or encourage suicide. When high profile actors/comedians commit suicide, they are literally giving ammunition to people who are on the verge of ending thier lives.. They have so many followers of all ages. What they do affect masses of people. I think it is a cowardly way to say good bye and a very selfish way to end thier lives.. I myself recovered from thoughts of suicide.. By giving myself to help others is a road to recovery. Stop asking "why is this life so hard on me and why can't I find happiness". Happiness is not a lottery ticket, it is earned!
@Pfirtzer
@Pfirtzer 10 лет назад
THEDUDE It sounds funny, that a country like the US that has killed hundred of thousands people directly or indirectly because they did mot want the western way of life. Did not want Coca Cola, Pepsi, Pharmaceutics, Exxon, BP and others to destroy their life or use them like cheap labour and get away with their natural resources is preching to help eachother. I am not talking about individual Americans, they are allso a victim of the neo-liberalism that chews people up and you as a person are worthless unless you don't earn a lot of money for your company, wife or whatever. That American dream that people are worthless unless they make a lot of money is killing people. Nowhere elese in the world is it easier to buy guns rather than medicin for your health.
@THEDUDE912
@THEDUDE912 10 лет назад
Pfirtzer Not to be political because I think it's disrespectful to Mr.Williams family to reduce his life to some example of Western ideals gone wrong but yes there's an irony in that many are suffering in affluence and many are suffering because they are not.
