Hi Sheila, new subscriber here! I found your channel as I hunted for Librarian-Tube folks (is that a thing? Can I call it that?) in preparation for an interview with a public library. I LOVE your content--thank you for sharing your corner of the world with us! 🥰 The affirmation card you pulled (didn't even know Nap Ministry had a deck!) was so perfect for me to see today that I copied it into my journal. This season, self-care for me is Hallmark Holiday movies (Frozen in Love is my current favorite), fun + cute video games (Sea of Stars is taking up many of my hours and I am not complaining), easy crafts, baking cookies + bread, and taking myself to yoga classes. I am trying to incorporate at least one of those things into every day.
hey sheila! I just wanted to say I absolutely adore you and your channel! :-) Ive been working at an academic library for the past 7 years and am finally getting my MLIS (2 semesters left to go! 🤞). I always thought I wanted to pursue academic librarianship, but within the past year ive realized I am a lot more passionate about archives and have decided I want to go that route instead. so i’ll admit ive binged watched your “work at the archives” videos more than a few times (sometimes i play them at work while i’m at my desk to keep me inspired lol), and they’ve helped cement my decision to hopefully work in this field one day! I can feel your passion through the screen and it’s very refreshing. anyways, I absolutely love your energy and thought i’d voice that to you. i’d love to see some more of what your job is like-when you feel up for it of course-i know you just voiced you were feeling burnt out! I love your other content also! it was refreshing to see your self care routine as I struggle with balancing work/rest as well. thank you for the reminder🥰 p.s. I hope you feel better! just got my period today too and have been feeling similar emotions, haha. happy holidays!!!
Thank you for the lovely comment! Good luck with your degree. I’m happy to hear you’ve been converted to the archives world, it’s much more fun than libraries 😉🙈
Self care for me is knitting, repetitive and calming 😊 Your Hobonichi-ing gives me great joy too! All that stickering and colour coding is so satisfying since I can’t seem to do it myself (busy watching RU-vid 🤣)!
Right now self care for me is taking the time in the morning to run. It helps me clear my mind at the start of the day. A couple of things I would like to start doing more is taking the time to read more books and being kinder to myself.
Did you get your bookshelf from Target? I think I have the same exact model. For me, Self-care is about going with the flow and doing what I feel like in the moment. I am a social introvert. While I like to go out amongst people, I don't like to communicate in big groups, Unless it is an academic environment. I love debates and theoretical discussion. In short, I generally like to be alone amongst a crowd. With occasional periods of social activity, followed by being home alone with my Cat, Henry-pants.
Do you know that i want to work for a law preparation that asked the companies and establishment that should give any woman a three days for her period because no body knows how's going in pain and stress and fatigue for all tge body ? If you want we could work this together abd being woman rights activists. What do you think my dear Sheila ?
