Recently there have been a few changes to the route that have made it easy to save time! This was a very solid run with all of the changes.
The first difference in the run is that we buy the Iron Battle Axe in Arrille's Tradehouse, which is going to be our weapon of choice for the run instead of the Iron Sparksword from Tarhiel. This causes us to have to do extra menuing, but it's worth it. Right after that, we're a bit slower than we used to be as the axe is an additional 30 weight, and more weight means slower movespeed.
At Tarhiel, we don't loot the sword, but we need to loot the gold or we won't be able to afford potions. He has a random amount of gold, but unless you make a mistake by jumping more than necessary, you should always have enough gold to afford everything.
We only buy 6 potions of recall instead of 5, as it was found that the time difference of using the extra recall after jumping from the exterior of Vemynal towards Dagoth Ur was essentially negligible, or slower to do the recall at Dagoth Ur when going from Vemynal. Also, with this route we can't afford 6 potions, so this works out perfectly.
The set up for the jump to Pemenie is different, as I used to stand in a different spot and rely on looking at my fatigue. I also used to change the map to the world map as it was helpful for the last jump in particular, but now I don't change the map style at all, which saves time. I rely on looking at the local map to know when to mark, as there are some objects that you pass by which are fairly easy to identify. Mirocu came up with the jump set up, and I able to replicate it with very good reliability.
We no longer use Berserk while in midair going towards Pemenie, which means not having to wait 24 hours in-game at Ald Ruhn, that saves 2 seconds. It was calculated that we have roughly a 36% chance to hit Pemenie with the axe, so there is quite a bit of RNG there, but we can one shot her with a fairly decent chance.
Since the axe deals more damage than the iron sword, we can kill Dagoth Vemyn in only 2 attacks, rather than 4.
Then, when you need to fight Dagoth Ur, you can kill him in 2 attacks instead of 3 (which was a best case scenario, a lot of the time it would require 4 attacks).
Finally, in the heart chamber, Mirocu found a different strategy for doing the attacks with Sunder and Keening. Instead of using the menus to change weapons, we only use a keybind. This is definitely saving a nice amount of time but it's tricky, as there is no buffering inputs - you can't hit the keybind during an attack, it has to be timed very well or you will be holding the Sunder/Keening for too long, and take a second tick of the mortal wound, which is not possible to survive.
Anyway, this is a very solid run. I don't think any lower than a very high 3:42 time would be possible with these strats, but we'll see what happens!
