Tried this one for myself after watching your video, and man, it's a very good version of MK3. Very customizable when it comes to difficulty, too. Finally I can play MK3 at my own pace and not get wrecked after 2nd fight non-stop... and you know, actually enjoy the game for once :D Great video as always!
Tag mode is very chaotic, all your usual strategies and tactics go right out of the window. It's hilariously fun, though - just in that "turn your brain off and just mash" kind of way.
There's A LOT of attention to detail here. Played through the game as Sektor, and he has "chest bump" sound effect during his win animation, a nice metal clank. When robots fall down, body drop sounds different than when humans fall, when you hit robots it's also different sound effects. Whoever made this version was really showing it a lot of love and attention.

The ability to play these games without the absolutely punishing difficulty is worth it alone. It’s nice to play these games without being forced to exploit the AI
About level rotations. It depends on creators of mugen, because you can actually make the rotation not random by few ways. And one of them is if you assign each level to specific character. In that way the rotation of the level will depend on who's your opponent. And that is the one of ways to make level rotation not random.
Love your MK1 and 2 Komplete videos, too! Would love seeing you play as other characters. Btw, have you considered playing through MK9 by any chance? Would be awesome to see you do playthroughs of the game!
Great playthrough. This version looks very nice. I agree 100% that most of, if not all, the fatality animations in this version are better than the arcade. It makes the gameplay that much more enjoyable, or so I would imagine. And that Soul Chamber FATALITY SHOULD'VE been in the Arcade version, and I love the improvements they made to Motaro plus being able to finish him. Unbelievably awesome version. 👍👊

I always wanted a more complete version of MK3! Maybe they should make a version with Scorpion, Subzero, Kitana, Mileena, Jade and Reptile! They could call it: "Ult...ra Mortal Kombat 3"!

i heard there was a secret forgotten version of mortal kombat 3... its name, ultimate mortal kombat trilogy it was only a rumour, but it was said the ai was disastrous
The only thing I didn't like from MK3 (and some of the mugens) are the fatalities. Everytime the opponent explodes, theres like 5x legs, 4x arms, more than 2x heads... and its all grey?
Actually, I think the Mugens kinda fixed the amount of limbs displayed, at least mk2 remix did. But yeah, I always thought that was dumb. There’d be like four rib cages 12 legs 16 arms nine heads lol
I used to love mk2 over mk3 but now as an adult Who is 33 who played it at the age of 5 with mk3 and so on I have found to learn experience and master mk3’s combo system and once you do it’s not only Much more rewarding fast paced than mk2 but also feels more like a modern mk game as it is the game that literally gave us combos I love mk3 it is perhaps my favorite mortal kombat AFTER Mortal kombat 4! That game like mk3 is sooo underrated the eerie settings the music the gore combat system still had cheats like the other 3 and was the last mk arcade game and also the last one to have cheats like mk1-3 did. It brought new stuff to the table weapons still had combos although I didn’t know it in my youth until recently I purchased mk4 again and it’s super fun. Mk4 and mk3. Are the best mk games for those reasons.
Event tho the game and added content to Is liven,this is the true full Character select screen for mortal kombat 3! On snes the 3 bosses swap in the dragon logo but in the Sega genesis version they have their own slots as shown here and makes the original mk3 amazing! I actually prefer this full original mk3 character select screen over umk3. More characters in umk3 is great and al but the fact remains the characters are mostly ninjas and at the time they were just pallets swaps so it just felt like copies of the same design. Original mk3 makes you forced into learning actual new mk3 fighters that are not ninjas such as kabal nightwolf sindel sheeva Stryker cyrax Sektor smoke which I appreciated bcuz as an adult it makes every character unique and completely different and it actually makes the character select screen feel bigger than it really Is as every character is their own self not a copy or pallets swap of another with the except of selector cyrax and smoke. But the cyber ninjas were cool. Smoke looked the coolest here sektor was easier to use for casual players and for advanced players who master cyrax he’s amazing. Also the layout of The character select screen here seems absolutely perfect as is in Sega genesis when you unlock the bosses it’s exactly the same. This is basicallly the true full ultimate edition of mk3 without it actually being umk3 just all the characters within game added as payables…..Well,sort of…..for those that don’t know there is 1 extra hidden secret fighter in original mk3 and took me years to figure out it existed….
