Probably made in the same factories as some of the other big brands, but those factories prioritize mass production of taylormade, callaway, titleist first.

So why did you go with the d7's? We're the d7 forged? I have the older d7s and thinking of going upto the d9 forged

How do you fins them with the DG105 shafts ?

Yes they do

Maxim, their wedges are great. I game the 52 bent to 53, and the 56. I've even managed a sandy eagle with the 56.

I think Drummond Golf usually stock Wilson Rufuss. And I would definitely add some loft to these. They go plenty far enough. Cheers

My current 7 iron-set has a bunching in the 7-5 irons and I can't bend them enough to correct the gapping so your suggested 6 iron-set would suit me perfectly, Paul. Then I could use the additional club in the longer end of the bag where I have a big gap between driver to 3 wood and again 3 wood to 3 hybrid. Cheers.

@@rufussthoo4083 This is exactly what I've done and it has improved my bag tremendously. My set is (47,42,37,32,28,24) - I find this the perfect iron setup. I then go to a 21-degree hybrid and then an 18-degree hybrid. For most golfers, I think a 7&5wood would be a better combo, but after a lot of testing, I chose hybrids, with adjustable sleeves, that I could open/de-loft 1-click, to provide anti-left protection - I also prefer the shorter shafts of hybrids. I am also playing with a 2-hybrid at 16-degrees, opened to 15-degrees, as a tee-only club for very tight holes - I used it very successfully last year when I tested it out - I still kept my 3wood with the longer shaft that i've set up as a long bomber that I can draw. The issue with this setup is that I have to drop one of my wedges, which I think I can manage, I just have to bend them for appropriate gapping.

Spot on Paul. If you go back 2 generations to the C300 Forged irons, the 7 iron was 33 deg. I feel Wilson have pushed these a degree too far fringe to keep up with the Joneses. Peak height and launch are low on the D9 Forged, so I’m glad they’re forged and will be no problem to bend them

Did you try the blades in the fitting? Those staff blades I felt were on par with my v6 irons forgiveness wise. I still think I’m about to bag the CBs with a forged d9 4i

I love mine too, feel and play really nicely but also very classy looking as far as I am concerned

i play the d9 .. but tried the d9 forged yesterday .. i play off 11.. i fancy the forged but the standard d9 is powerful and forgiving

Not sure they are… spin too low, launch low, peak heights low, land angle shallow. Feel like they should have more loft. (And I’m an unabashed Wilson Staff iron fan)

@@cameronloveless1751 I'd only say the lofts are pretty in line with most players distance irons, check out the P790s or Mizuno 225s or Cobra Forged Tec irons, they all have a 4 iron around 20-21.5 degrees and a PW at 44, it could come down to fitting for you? I know my D7 forged irons were a little flat for me so I had them bent 2° upright, they went from great to perfect for me

@@xXcharliegoonerXx it doesn’t matter about the lofts. It’s about the flight. If other clubs with same loft have more tungsten buried low and deep, they will fly higher. I’ve seen 4 reviews now and every one of them had low launch & peak height

@@xXcharliegoonerXx what did you think charlie? I'm keen to try them as often send balls to orbit so the thought of a lower flight and bit of distance is quite appealing

I bought the D7 Forged irons in 2020 and decided to buy the new 0211DC iron a couple months ago when they went to $75 per club. I now have the 0211's up for sale and went back to my D7's. More workable and punch shots are way easier for my game.

0211sts are amazing

@@jes_40 I certainly agree that a golfer looking for workability and hitting punch shots probably wouldn't be in the 0211DC wheelhouse....The 0211ST would be the kiddies for that, and at £510.00 that's still £200 cheaper than the Wilson's....Having said all that, we all know as golfers how clubs have to fit our eye, and if the Wilson's fill that brief more than the PXG's....that's cool.

Agree. Launch, peak height and descent all too low. I reckon Wilson have over cranked the lofts trying to “keep up with the in crowd”. Bend them weaker a degree or so and they’ll be far more playable. Thankfully they’re forged so can easily do so.

@@cameronloveless1751 you are right although I can think of a few guys I play with that deliver so much dynamic loft and create so much spin that these irons may actually work for them lol

He shows the specs in the video can you not pause and write data down. Otherwise try Ian Jenkins golf web site he often lists full specs of the irons they sell

Agree. The lofts need to be weakened - back to 32 degrees or thereabouts for the 7 iron

@@cameronloveless1751 Then you lose the long carry. You have to hit a 6 iron to get the distance you would get with the stock 7 iron. There are compromises. Not with hybrids.

@@chuckyz2 true. But I’d rather have properly flighted irons, as I don’t struggle for distance. My 33 degree 7 iron carries 175 yards, so D9F “weakened” to 32 degrees might still go 180. The point I was making is that, perhaps Wilson haven’t put enough tungsten down low in the head. Hard to add that now, so all you have is making them weaker, or maybe a different shaft could increase the launch/height.

@@cameronloveless1751 When they manipulate the weight, they get lower lofts to get more trajectory. By weakening the loft that much on a GI, the ball flight is too high. Add more tungsten down low and the flight will be even higher. Anyone that isn't playing hybrids are missing out on lower scores. They are just better. More forgiving. More spin. I wish they made them with a little shorter shafts. (Heavier heads) I;m short. I need to butt trim my shafts 1/2" and they lose 6 points. I have too add weight and on a hybrid there just is no room. Need to learn to hot melt. I have been playing a 6 hybrid for years. It replaces my 5 iron. It is so much easier and forgiving. Bought a 7 hybrid to replace my 6 iron. Looking forward to getting that shafted and in play.

Think the chrome contrasts really nicely with the matte grooves

That’s a personal preference. Some of us like a traditional look. And black never lasts, always wears away. The chrome finish on my C300 Forged irons has rarely bothered me. Wedges in chrome possibly would with the extra loft, but not the irons
