Gidday Simon. I really enjoy your Tech Talks. You explain technical stuff in a way the average guy can understand. Great to have a Kiwi connection to MotoGP.
The Triumph triple is one of the all time great engines... Right up there with Phil Irving's Black Shadow V-twin. Fun fact, my house in Bakery Hill, Victoria is on the same site as Phil's was when he designed it before taking it to merry old England.
Thank you Simon. I put 35k miles on one of my Daytona 675s, loved it, and knew back in 2007 that the triple made more sense for Moto2. I hope MV will provide as reliable/ powerful engine going forward.
They really do a great job assembling, compiling and servicing those engines. Fair play. 👏👏👏 Didn’t realise that they used to stock gears, great way to keep the costs manageable.
When I watched the video, there was a ratio of 660 likes vs 24 dislikes, for a 2.75% disapproval rate. I know this is standard RU-vid stuff, but I wonder what causes a dislike for a video of this nature. Because it’s one of the best series on the platform, so what’s not to like?
Imo, we should have 4 divisions (Moto 4, 3, 2, and GP). 4 could be a single, 3 could be a parallel twin (the fastest growing class in motorcycles), 2 could be an inline triple, and GP could be inline/V four. This is essentially what Yamah is doing with the R3, new R7, planned R9, and R1.
if you were to base it on the no. cylinders you would still have to take account for engine size. So it's just easier to have a limit based on the engine displacement and worry about the cylinders' configuration based on the bike performance that you need.
Simon Thanks for you Tech talks, can you tell me why Moto 2 bikes CAN'T be push started after an off, they never fire. Very frustrating for the riders, and me.
I would like to volunteer myself as a manufacturer 'mileage rider'. I will be glad do race events, laying down laps so that engines maintain correct mileage for turn over to the front runners.
Thanks Simon! Yet another fantastic look behind the scenes. See you in Austin, and please ignore the nuts who can't be bothered to see the value of wearing a mask to protect their fellow man.
Why won't they put these new episodes on their app for those of us that pay the 100 plus dollars a year for. We get to watch the first 5 he done at the start of last year. Lol
Simon, you need to watch Mark Larkin (larkos) tech talks in Australian Supercars. He is more fluid in his talking and uses visual aids to help the viewer understand his speak. Simon, you need to get more tech for your tech talk...
they should stop using masks , whats this bullshit all about , we can barely understand him and hes alone in the room while vaccinated AND tested . but you could also enforce these rediculous measures and act as the supercorrect kid .
Always makes me laugh how people keep rating the Triumph engine against the old 600. Honda's 600 is over 30 years old design. Don't get me started on power, 2006 GSXR 750 has more so the Triumph isn't that good
It gets thrown away???!!!! why dont they give it away or sell it after market? Id take one thats just gonna go in the dumpster, i can pay for shipping too, send me a DM Simon!
Sorry because english was not my native, some of his words are not clear to me. Add some subtitle or at least put of his mask please, he's alone. I have no problem with commentator, or inside paddock though. Its just his mask + accent, make it hard to me.
Please please it's a humble request that whenever you doing these technical videos, do remove your mask.. Because your voice is not clear in the mask and it's sound weird n confusing...
