I love your reviews. You are one of the most objective and "real" reviewers out there and everything just comes across as so natural and relaxed, easily appealing to both the tech crowd and the general population. (As an aside, I cannot wait to upgrade to this in less than 2 weeks! A huge upgrade from my Galaxy S3 for sure.)
Yeah I got till next febuary for my upgrade on verizon and I think I will be upgrading to the droid turbo ballistic nylon 64gb from my gs4. I really like that build quality that I don't really need a case. I use a UAG case on my s4 cause it was too slippery.
Who the fuck plays flappy bird the bitch of the dev almost killed himself(or so i heard) More like I was in a really bad mood and my friend slapped me.
Turbo got an operating system update a week ago. Battery life has improved a bit. This is a welcome change especially since it's battery life before wasn't as good as its predecessor (Droid Maxx).
I just got the ballistic nylon 32 gig and I am loving this phone! So snappy and feels great on the hand. For those who like a light phone beware. This phone definitely has some noticeable heft to it. I almost chose the note 4 over this but testing them side by side something just felt right about the turbo. I've also noticed that the 2 spots my service dropped out of in my city now completely seem to support full 4g. Idk if that's the phone or the provider expanding but I'm happy either way. Costco phone kiosk has this phone for 96$ out the door with a ton of extras!.(extra turbo wall charger, car charger, otter box case, and a car docking GPS station) $96 and that includes the taxes!!!
Very impressed with this phone though I've preordered a Note 4. I've read you have to get the black ballistic to get the 3900 mAh battery version as the other models don't have as large a battery. Love the compact size of this device, 3900 mAh battery and 21mp camera which sounds good enough for a phone camera.
I upgraded from Droid Bionic to the Turbo. I wanted to love the phone from the awesome specs. I took back to get the Note 4 which is a lot better overall in my opinion. The Turbo would switch apps and turn off at times holding by the bezel. The Note 4 display looks better and the camera is great. The only thing I liked better on the Turbo was the front speaker. I was able to add 32Gb memory card which I already had into the Note 4.
I miss the droid. I had the ultra. It was a great phone. I went to iPhone 6s from the ultra. I have the iPhone 7 now but I’m going back to Motorola. I’m getting the g7 power. But if there was an updated droid option, I’d be getting that.
I had the phone for 3 days and returned it. It has no IR blaster, you can't use the internet and make phone calls simultaneously, low call volume and no SD card. Great build though. .
Thanks for a good review. Many of us here in Hawaii use VZ simply because they have the best coverage. Many VZ folks have asked me about the Droid Turbo compared to the Note 4. I see no comparison at all. Note 4 has best display on any phone (Displaymate). Displaymate also rates normal screen brightness on Note 4 at around 550 nits on manual, and up to 750 nits on auto in bright sunlight. Phone Arena says Droid turbo screen only puts out 253 nits. That's terrible. Add to that, just average camera, speakers, radios, etc. - can't compare to Note 4. BTW, I get minimum of 30 hrs of battery, medium usage, on my Note 4, with is just as good as Droid Turbo. Get a Note 4!! Also has replaceable battery and SD card expansion.
Last update by Motorola on July 24th installed some useless apps, but my problem is it also reduced the volume to everything...Ringtone not as loud and also notifications, alarms and videos...The worst is google maps! If there is a remedy for this please advise...
I really like how nice people are being in the comments =) 99% of the time on tech vids, its people being rude to each other out of which piece of tech they prefer, which is dumb. The comments on this video are a nice break from that :)
i have a question about the description of the droid turbo. its website says "3 GB (LPDDR3 with 64-bit access)". what does 64 bit access mean?? similar to the new iphones? "future proof"?? thx
Hi I have just recently purchased this phone and I was wondering what would happen if I went into the developer options and changed the runtime from Dalvik to Art. I have heard rumors about the Art runtime speeding up the nexus 5, but would it speed up the droid turbo
When you wave your hand it triggers the sensor causing the phone to wake up. What if its in your pocket? Will it trigger that same sensor too? I'm worried about battery life if it keeps the phone awake in my pocket.
Why compare it to the moto x when it is more like the droid maxx? I own the maxx, in the red, and I have to say they are kind of the same, besides the fact that the turbo is a little bit nicer.
David Seo Oh geez, you're supposed to wait until you're actually confronting someone with piano wire from the backseat of their car before letting out the crazy. Like she's going to tell you where she lives *now*. You just cool your jets there killer. :)
It's absolutely perplexing to me why they kept the old style navigation buttons instead of adopting the new lollipop ones. Absolutely mind blowingly stupid design decision.
Mitchell Steindler I'm not complaining about them being capacitive I'm complaining that they're design is kit kat era, and that design is out of date this month, the Turbo is likely to get kit kat in less than a month and it will forever have the old ugly navigation button design.
Harrison I assume by "likely get kit kat in a month" you mean lollipop. But that still doesn't change that capacitive buttons give more screen space. And who cares what the arrows look like?
Mitchell Steindler Me. They don't fit the new lollipop look at all, they are outdated and I really don't like the design. Why wouldn't you care about something that affects the phones design?
Harrison I think I can answer your question by saying I have a GS3. Not the forefront of design. I really don't care about how my phone looks, just how it works. I like capacitive buttons better because they are easier for me to use and they leave more space on the screen. (And of course the screen is the most important part of a phone)
So I have this phone and when I decide I want to move a app from the app drawer to the home screen it does a little vibration. This is annoying me very much how do I fix this?
Should have been released a bit later when Lollipop came because now owners going to have to wait but still a great phone only wish Motorola would stop calling it these Turbo and Maxx names the international is the Maxx that's coming soon and its the same phone
I still prefer the Moto X over this device. The capacitive buttons don't look good on this phone and they seem a bit distracting. The Nexus 6 is an amazing looking Moto X on steroids, lol. Battery life on the Moto X is average so it gets me through the day with moderate to heavy use and I recently got the turbo charger, which works great. BTW, were you able to preorder the Nexus 6?
It gives you the battery percentages in the command center widget just fine. Or otherwise just pull down the notification shade and look under the battery menu. And it breaks down the battery usage by app.
Pls keep ur specs and aesthetics of the phone under 2 mins..whoever is gonna watch this review are going to know the specs..cuz that's wats this phone is known for..and u say other useful things towards the end...timecode ur video or reduce the timings...
I don't like the turbo for the simple reason you can't put your pics in albums I'm going back to the s5 or either iPhone This is the worse phone I've ever had. If they would of told me about the pic album issue from the beginning I would of never gotten phone. Now I have over 3000 pics all mixed together with no albums.
