Holy crap, only 27 examples were made with the Evergreen color on the inside and outside. less than 1% of the entire production run. That's one rare bird.
That's disappointing..! I was genuinely sitting here thinking how gorgeous the colour was. When he popped the rear hatch in the video and I saw those matching seats - I hit pause - and scrolled down to the comments to hopefully find out its name. So thanks(!), but argh... that's sad...
I like the e34 over the e39, but I definitely enjoy the M-coupe. The video doesn’t do it justice, especially with the deadpan paint job. Seeing one close up, they look much more menacing!
seeing one of these is almost like seeing the automotive equivalent of a unicorn . i've seen several but never this color. still love this car i remember reading they could be a real handful to drive which makes me want one.
As the owner of a first-gen Mazda Miata, I have always had a little crush on the Z3 M Coupe. I'd still prefer the Z4 M Coupe, but just the fact that BMW built this car is awesome. These are my favorite M cars.
Compared to what BMW cars have become presently, this car is beautiful inside and out. I would rather drive a "clown shoe" than an automatic only, enhanced exhaust note through the stereo speakers "sports sedan". Here is a clue that your company is no longer the "Ultimate Driving Machine": widespread lack of a manual gearbox on even your smallest models, the creation of an SUV/fastback SAV, and radio speakers used to enhance the engine note. These are not performance enhancements!
The good old clown shoe! They look pretty mean with a few tweaks and in the right color, I wonder if MW ever reviewed the 00-01 version with the 300+ horses... Shame about the rear subframe tearing out though, I wouldn't buy one without reinforcing that area.
The reason the rear subframe fails is because people put coilovers on it and hammer it continually up against its endstops! With original springs the subframe will never fail! You can further prevent it by installing powerflex bushings in the outer subframe mounts.
Definitely. First time I saw one was merging into highway right behind a blue one. Around 99. Who ever was driving hit the gas and that thing just left us in my parents minivan.
Thank you so much for posting a great copy of this video. I used to watch this show religiously when I was a little kid! Owings Mills Maryland 21117!!! The color of the car in this video is "Evergreen". It is one of the non-metallic M colors for this car.
I love the looks from every angle! I have a z3 Roadster 2.8 and a Boxster 2.7. Shoulda boughta Coupe when prices were lower! Still, one way, or another, I'm gonna get one get one get one!
Man, I love the M Coupe. Even though it looks like a shoe, I'd take the M Coupe over any other modern Bimmer. Such a lovely looking and sounding car. Who doesn't want a RWD hatchback?
I used to see one at the car dealer by my apartment when it came out in 99 but it was there so long I moved before it sold. I don't think I've ever seen on the street. And this was Lincoln Park in Chicago an upscale urban area so if this car didn't do well there...
I had a Red '98 Z3 Coupe with the 540 Staggered Rims. It was down in HP by about 42 but was still a blast and had a nicer interior with the wood trim. However, the seats on this thing do not change their angle on the seat cushion. Meaning that over time (5 years), your butt hurts more and more as you sit in it as it's always the same pressure point near your tail bone. I eventually had to sell the car, as much as I loved it due to those uncomfortable seats. But if you drive it periodically, you probably won't notice the problem.
I now think the Z3 is aging better than the Z4 which is arguably prettier. Have had my perfect 2000 Red coupe for 19 years. It's up in value about $10,000 from the 12,300 miles I bought it at. Have 50,600 now.
It's so ugly it beautiful. I have one in Milano red and it's a lovely little car. Great looks, awesome performance, and turns heads everywhere I go. Check, check, check check!
Stupendous car. Along with the E46, E38 and E39 these were the last of the attractive BMWs. RIP Bavaria, you had a good run, but your cars are FUGLY since you hired Bangle.
Don't worry about whats behind you because they will be dust anyhow. So I guess that cop that may be following you in your BMW can just head back to the station cause your not stopping anyhow. lol
