Mountune Rear Motor Mount Install on my 2016 Kona Blue Ford Focus ST. I got it done by Ford and and thought I would share the footage of how they install it. Music: Forrestdel.bandcamp.com
I agree with victor I think he installed it upside down. If you watch Mountune's installation video, it actually says to put the logo facedown. I am not sure if this affect the performance or not though.
👌🏼👌🏼 good video, really cool of the Ford dealership letting you video tape, a lot of them are not like that. Shows people a professional install of parts.
When I change my classing for Autocross, I plan on doing full motor mounts. I sat in a STX Focus ST at Nationals this past summer, and it did amazing things. lol
When I have the rmm off, do I need to take the weight off the rmm? like using a engine hoist or floor jack? or no need (also gonna leave rmm off and leave the car on rhino ramp for a few days, again do I need to take weight off rmm? ) thanks for the help
don't want to worry you and its probably not really that important, but I've just watched the mountune fitting instructions and when they are putting the new mount back in, it says make sure the mounting logo is facing downwards, now when he's puts yours back in, the mountune logos facing upwards ...
Just bought a 2017 focus ST3 100% because of all your videos! I have had it for 2 days but im definitely wanting to get rid of the tire hop. How much did the mountune cost, and how much was installation? And does it void warranty? Thanks!
Great to hear! RMM does not void warranty and I think it was $150. You would have to check their site for pricing. Install should be quoted at 1 hour of labor and for me that was about $68
Ah that looks like the e-focus, which is apparently a bit better than the pre-facelift models. I haven't experienced this wheel hop or bang in my '15, maybe I'm not flogging the absolute piss out of it enough? www.focusst.org/forum/focus-st-discussions/53034-has-2016-solved-rmm-issue-2.html
the 2015 and up get the Ford electric motor mount which is way better than the original motor mount found in the 2013-14. I'm surprised you felt a lot of wheel hop with that motor mount
+SymmetryTutorials haha I was like is this guy being a smart ass? And yea I think it probably does vary. I would think smaller dealerships probably won't do it
Oh maybe the honeycomb just looked completely hallow in the vid. Im looking for a grille that all the honeycomb is open for air unlike the stock ones that are blocked.
