I assume that at some point, a garden is in your future. Just a thought on water conservation, run a pump system with a generator, from the pond for watering. We do that with our greenhouse, garden and flowers (when the caught rain water runs out). Works likes a charm and you won’t be using your precious house water❤️

To get those bubbles out of the plywood you might try using an ordinary iron. Start at a low heat, move it up to medium and then high. Use a thin towel or an old sheet between the iron and the wood. The heat melts the glue in the plywood and will re-adhere the layers together.

( Licensed Nurseryman with minor in horticulture B.A. ) The Bouganvillea dying is a BLESSING that I don't think you fully understand. While it is pretty to look at once established - it is one of the most aggressive - hostile - frustrating and injury prone bushes of all. Freakishly hostile 1-3" thorns - and it really becomes a noxious weed once it is established. Constant maintenance and pruning is required of the 3" THORNED branches etc . . that grow quickly and get OUT of control. I have known neighbors - family members and customers who have literally had it hacked down to the ground ( and then poisoned ) - burned out or dug up root ball and all. It is a nightmare plant. It is a situation where you didn't know what you didn't know - but in a good way because it died. I am a licensed nurseryman - lifelong gardener - and have a well maintained landscape and hobby garden etc - and I would never plant a Bougainvillea. It's like purposefully torturing yourself to have it in your landscape. You "dodged a bullet" on that one. Pick NON thorned perennials that flower - climb and aren't "feed me seymour" level aggressive. And for your zone with some lower temps to spare if possible..

One with a slide, a couple of swings and a tree house attached. Everyone came to our house when my girls were growing up because we had a swing set. And my husband built a swing set for our grandchildren. They never tire of having a place for them to play. Also, put a tire swing in where two can swing at the same time. They love being outside!

You have that right. I'm in Montana and prior to that Eastern Washington, in farm country. A couple of cats solved our mice problem, who scavenge from fruit trees and wheat. In general, as long as there isn't food competition between cats and dogs, it works out. It's all dependent on the aggressiveness of the dog. Their dogs don't seem so aggressive but we've never seen how they react to other people.... Who knows.

Spencer, the iron trick on the bubble in plywood is a good fix. An iron and wet cloth will work to raise the grain from a dent in either plywood or lumber. A second idea for the future when you get a bubble (delamination) in plywood is to cut through the middle of the bubble, following a grain line with a sharp utility knife and then insert a bit of wood glue (I prefer Titebond II). Wipe off excess, lay wax paper over the repair and clamp a wood block to hold it tight until the glue dries in about 2 hours or so. A light scraping or sanding to remove any exposed glue lines and you've saved your work. A quick set epoxy is a good alternative to the wood glue but you have to work quickly. Love your channel. Greg

Wow, such a beautiful home. Shelves, deck off master, plants and all. One thing that would concern me, is the snakes while the little ones are out playing. How do you keep them away? I hate snakes, and you sure get your share... What will you be doing with the barn? Converting it to a workshop, or a garage? You two are so amazing... Keep it up.. XOXO

Hi Leigh Ann, I live in Zanesville, Ohio. My Wife and I moved here in town, after selling our farm, about 15mi. from here. We purchased a grand old home (99yrs.old) in the historic district. We have brick streets! I didn't think I'd like living in town, but I couldn't have been more wrong. It's a quiet neighborhood (with good neighbors) and just minuets (not miles!) from all the major shopping outlets. We love it!
