I really love neighbors that feel the need to mind everyone's business but their own. If I want my lawn mowed I'll mow it,not when the neighbors tell me to
Just two things I would recomend; one is to cut the grass higher because you are killing/scalping it cutting it that low, number two is to blow the grass outwards because you are putting alot more stress on your mower and it will require more maintnece and wear out all the parts faster.
My neighbor is a retired school teacher, she has a hard time mowing her grass so I told her that I would take care of it for her, she pays me 50 bucks a week to mow and it takes me less than an hour. An ounce of kindness goes further than a pound of anger.
Mow the other direction. Your blowing the cut grass on the grass that needs to be cut. Blow it where it's already been cut so it doesn't get in the way.
It only looks soon brown because of how tall it is. The tall green is just hiding the true crop of a lawn underneath. Plus the grass is in a lot of shock I'm sure. It will recover in no time, and look crappy regardless.
There is just something about this video that is so relaxing and satisfying. It would be better still if you were driving a little slower with a beer in your hand 🙂
My neighbor scalps his grass in the heat of the summer. Then asks what I do to keep my grass green. I said your mower deck adjusts above the #1 setting, you should try it sometime.
thats probably why he hasnt learned yet. every time he asks a question people get a smart mouth instead of just helping the guy. not everybody is a doctor and not everbody is a mechanic.
Man the comments section roasted this guy... I was just gonna say, simply raise the deck height up higher during dry summers to keep the lawn green, and if you see lines where its not cutting all the grass thats because the speed is too high, or the deck is too low or both.
But if it gets any taller you would need a tractor and a batwing mower to get it all down it may look small on the camera but irl it's long grass how do I know because it's happened to me a few times also it needs cut that low so it can get sun shine and make the lower part of the grass green if it gets to long you got strong weeds
@@OVF_Golf he cut the grass way to low so it never had a chance to regrow. The neighbor had a nice healthy weed free lawn, now that the grass burned up from the sun, weed city. Any lawn maintenance professional or retired person knows not to mow below 3in. Your name says it all
I like scalping the grass too when it grows an inch a day in the spring then I dont have to cut it as often. In summer though I cut it long to keep it from drying out to quick.
It looks like your yard is actually mowed way too low. It’s suffering. Notice how green his grass is. In the summer 3” should be about the lowest you go. Maybe 2.5” if you’re keeping it watered. But that’s pushing it.
Ok ok here are some tips. 1. Mow the other way. So you don't get your tractor messed up. Because when i mow it would get messed up from the lile of grass stuck on it so i would do the other way. 2. Only mow your grass when it is TALL. Obviously that grass is not tall enough to be cut. 3. Watch your temperature and gas. Depending on how hot or cold it is. You must stop and turn your tractor off once it is near the H. And watch your gas. Because if you're out of Diesel Gas then you will have to waist your money to buy more. 4. Fill your gas tank half way. Unless you're going to be travelling somewhere far with your tractor do not waist your gas. 5. Do not mow damp and wet areas. Depending on how wet it is you should be cautious. You can get your tractor stuck and possibly damaged.
You are aware about 99.9% of lawn and garden tractors 1. Don’t have temp gauges 2. Don’t really ever overheat unless improperly cared for 3. You are aware you waste more time and money only filling your machine half full right?
If it is your neighbors why worry about it... my neighbors gets 6 inches tall and it does not bother me in the least. They are doing me a favor keeping their house value low which keeps mine low...pay less in property taxes.
1/3 rule man... never cut more than 1/3 the height of the grass, it shocks it, and turns brown like it did... possibly killing the lawn, and it'll be brown for longer... wait for a really dry day, and mmow at a 1/3 of the grass height, or as high as your deck will go.. then wait a few days come back, and mow at a slightly lower height, your stressing the mower as you can hear the engine/deck bog...
Of course someone with a carpeted garage would think 4” grass is too tall. I never understood why anyone cares what their neighbors do with their own land.
Before reading the comments, I was also thinking that the neighbors grass looked green and healthy while the "neighbors with nice lawns" looked scalped and burnt.
Sir you have a beautiful piece of property. Shame the neighbor dosent keep their land as nice as you do.but nice of you to mow it for them. Cheers from Boston
I would be bagging, switching direction for stripes and cutting higher. Their grass was a nice color green. Now this have to wait for it to get green again you cut it so low.
What I mean when I say mow the other way is the when your mowing your basically blowing the clipping in the way and it’s harder on your mower just like the wet grass
Does that mower have a zero setting on the cutting deck adjustment? Looks like you like the grass cut down to the soil. The grass wasn't all that high to start with.... it would have looked nicer.... and your mower would have taken less of a beating had you raised the deck a notch or two.
Just admit it. It's for some reason fun cutting tall grass. Makes ya feel like a little farmer. Gives the same sensation at vacuuming after u GRT rid of the Christmas tree
My neighbor takes it upon himself to cut my shrubs and grass when HE thinks it needs it. I don't like this, I want to do it myself. My spouse thinks it's all ok. So I finally told him to stop doing it. Now I think he is offended. His intent I believe was that he thinks we are lazy because he told me the previous owner was lazy and he always mowed their lawn ...even though they were a young couple with 2 twin babies and a toddler.
I like how its mowing neighbors tall annoying grass in the title, but then in the description he says he doesnt care what it looks like. Which is it? I dont get why people love telling others what to do, its their own property, not yours.
Looks worse after you mowed it. 3 to 3 1/2" even 4" is right, not scalp mode as you did.... that's why your yard looks crappy, you mow to low! You have no root depth....
Making Silage good idea but where is the pick up tractor ??? Was your neighbor a happy camper ?? Anyway's nice of you to cut his/her lawn for them !!!!!!!!
@@mudbuggie90 I'm 11 and I cut better than this dude btw if your mowing you should set the deck to 3 or 2 1/2 this idiot had it at like 1 if you understand what I'm talking about
Model? I know you made his video like 7 years ago, but if you do see this comment, can you tell me which model this mower you have is? And the fact that you flipped off the neighbors lawn💀
Destruction of property is the law that was broken. No trespassing doesn't apply here and cant be enforced due to lack of proper signage. A few other lawn care laws were broken. Mowing clockwise on tall grass and the 1/3 rule. Doosh
Cutting the neighbor's lawn with their permission = kindness. Cutting the neighbor's lawn poorly with their permission = rudeness. Cutting the neighbor's lawn poorly and without their permission = *misdemeanor trespassing and property damage.*
Do you know how badly I wanted one of those commercial mowers you can do a 360 no problem in those tight spots and they get the job done much better and better timing I wouldn't say quicker because lawn maintance is nothing but skill it's not something everyone can do if you want your property to look the right way then have it done professional but you'd be surprised how many home owners do it themselves and get amazing results
Mike don't go to lows and buy one 😂 I've got one and it's most definitely not commercial grade by any standards. I'm going to have to buy a new one soon
Killer dude 3216 good luck to you hope you find what you need and we own a toro tractor it's a few years old runs good but has a strange sound like a washer is hitting something you know what I'm talking about? You put a bolt and a washer. Sounds like a washer hitting something like vibrations I don't know what it could be
