@@zoinkzzs Ok, canceling Mr.beast? No, no one doing that shit. You can’t even do that shit. Hating on him? You can’t say nobody hates on him. There is gonna be those people. I found them on RU-vid just while I was chilling.
I don’t think people are mad at Mr. Beast. They’re mad at the fact that the sitting politicians who have the capacity to improve these peoples lives are doing nothing.
As a Kenyan...this is extremely disgusting...not Mr Beast but goes to show how much our government does nothing to help no one...borrows billiona of dollars for "infrastructure"..for mr beast to be the one to help these kids...and then someone still has the energy to even get mad at this...and did nothing
what happens at those wells after he leaves....mhhhhhh oh after he publicized it to millions and made the politicians look stupid to the world.....tell me, as a kenyan who do you think two week, two years from now is gonna be managing them. it's damn sure not "Jimmy" and it ain't whoever taking care of them kids right now. Being nice
People talking about the 'backlash', please stop. There's more nuance to it than "Mr Beast is doing a super good thing and I hate him for it 🤬". The articles written about the 'backlash' were incredibly dishonest with portraying local activists who raised concerns. The articles took shit out of context when all they were saying is that they wished it didn't take the actions of a RU-vidr who will then have crowds of impoverished children run promotion for them to help alleviate their problems, and that a long term solution would only come from local action. It's the same type of shit the Salvation Army was on with those Christmas ad campaigns, but it's in the past so people don't bat an eye when people in Africa complain about Western media portraying the region as nothing but helpless, starving people who can do nothing but sit and wait to be rescued if you donate $5 a month. Africa isn't impoverished because that's just the way it is, it's a direct result of colonialist ransacking of the continent. What Mr Beast did is unequivocally a good thing, but it shouldn't take him making a video on it for people to actually start solving the problem, and he unfortunately is perpetuating the whitewashing of Africa's problems and how it's tied to its colonial past. The problem isn't his actions, it's his attitude. He did a lot better in this video though at explaining some of the issues.
This^^^^ I think Ludwig was the only person to realize that he ain’t being cancelled. But I will disagree, the whole Optics conversation and whitewashing is such a fantasy. These people don’t care about how they are seen, they are suffering from disease due to these horrible conditions. Who cares what they are seen as and who cares what the race of the donator is. It truly doesn’t matter. The only valid critique is what he is not doing which is discussing how this led up to it happening but it just sounds like nitpicking tbh.
The reason I initially 2nd guessed his intentions is bc I don’t think yt ppl do anything w/o a condition attached to it. But this was honestly so heartwarming. We have govts that wouldn’t even take it this far and celebs -esp Black - that’s would never give back this way not even in the US
It's hilarious how some of y'all assume that any criticism of Mr. Beast's actions is immediately condemning his cause. Nobody is saying digging wells is inherently a bad thing, obviously. It's not that black and white.
Yh the main concerns I saw where his responses on Twitter mainly and how he could use his platform to actually recognise exploitation and the difference he’s making in comparison to certain charities and shit like ppl are starting a convo around but instead he went straight to talking about cancel culture
Jay z or any rapper has never did something like this. They just tell you how much money they have. So hey if kids get clean drinking water I’m cool with it.
@@kaws1205The irony of calling people who don't like Mr Beast 'kids' when 99.9999% of the kids on YT will run to the ends of the earth to protect him from criticism.
@@KCAssassin98 no one is talking badly abt Mr Beast? Where? It’s literally people saying this “omg who can hate him !” Or “Omg he the kindest and nicest person ever, PEOPLE WILL FIND ANYTHING TO HATE HIM” Just stop making shit up
People mad that someone found out how to make a money cycle that isn't completely selfish and one sided. It's insecurities. Not one person would have a moral/optic problem if they could take his place.
I hate that they keep portraying our continent like this. I’m sure that there are rural and poor areas in the US too. Anyway, let me get back to my PS5 and VR headset. Love from South Africa ✌️
I def get it two things can be true we can see the good in what he’s doing but even if he’s not doing exactly that there’s still charities and companies who exploit and paint a stereotype of Africa that isn’t entirely true just to make a whole white saviour narrative
But I assume he’s doing it in good faith only because he also does good shit for poor ppl in his own country there’s not a difference in that it seems like
This man is doing what the rich fail to do. Stop being me for donations at a store! I gladly give when I can. How y’all richer and take my taxes and money but can’t give back to others. I’m sure some rich people do when you find them I’d love to see.
I mean it’s only a temporary solution to a problem that can’t be solved while capitalism remains the dominant force in the world, and it is giving white savior vibes, but if y’all keep hating on a dude for giving water to thirsty people they’ll just go thirsty instead.
I've seen him being hated on by multiple sources including a woman that leads an organization to help building wells. This world needs to stop worrying about offended and just worry about lives being helped and saved. It's more offensive to me people saying how other people should feel. People that are hating on Mr. beast for doing this I dare you to go interview the half a million people he helped and ask them what they think.
@@staciii see the thing is I love that you asked me that! In high school and after a group of us raised funds to send to flint not only that but so did my church …. That’s middle class working Americans mr beast is a millionaire……. So now let’s flip it what have you done?
Lol as an African; I'm laughing at Africans praising mr Beast knowing full well he done set up 100 hits/licks on they head. Lol and politicians are getting clowned? Y'all bout to find out
There is nothing inherently wrong with what he did, but it's the way he does it. This video has "giving money to strangers in the hood" type energy. This continues to push the "Africans are living in straw huts" narrative and with enough charity, Africa can be "saved", but lacks to show any nuance. But I guess his kids-demographic wouldn't watch it then...
Or maybe you can propose some ways where he could've still built wells and raised awareness without being offensive. How differently could he have worded/presented it for him to not be perpetuating these narratives?
