Watched it earlier, was great to see the guys all together. Should do a collab experiment... no communication but 1 shirt tied by several at random then randomly passed back around for dying

So lovin' all the tie dye exposure happening online these last few years! 🌈 I'm getting lost in the crowds of all the new dyers lol buuut it's pretty darn rad to see this art explode!

I haven't had a chance to check the documentary out yet. I did hear that there was not a single female artist, which is really unfortunate. There are arguable more women in the general tie dyeing community, so it seems like they dropped the ball there. And honestly, it's probably partly why I haven't run to watch the film yet.

yes I noticed that as well.... and I have seen some of the people involved in the movie comment on this issue .... it seems that since this was very last minute, not many were able to attend ...they took everyone who said they come come and no women were able to?? I know, a weird coincidence, but it does happen ... I am not trying to make excuses and I have no control over it myself, I just want to spread awareness of the movie as it spreads awareness of Tie-Dye ... I love this community and wish to see anyone who wants to learn be able to learn and have fun and success with it I am not a woman, but I was also unable to attend as I had other plans already when I was contacted .... ✌🏻💚🌈🤗 BUT, next year they say will put info out sooner so more people can make it and I am sure they will have some women dyers in there as it has been brought up many times .... and yes, I agree about the number of women in this art.... when I look at my channel stats, the majority of my subs are women 🙏✌🏻💚

I've only been tie dying for about a year, so I'm not at that level yet. But I am an artist and this is just one more way of expressing that artistic passion. It's absolutely addictive. Even when you unwrap one and it didn't turn out as you expected, you still get a pretty cool piece of wearable art.

I watched the premier and it was done really well. It was interesting hearing everyone tell their back stories and made me appreciate them more as people than just the great artists they have become. ✌🏻❤️

I remember you saying how people kept secrets. Which I understand to a point. But then you mentioned again in this review. It's also a talking point in the movie and only two to three people actually talked about it so it gave me an idea of who you were talking about.

I just meant that this art has been secretive for many years and now it is opening up ... I share all of my knowledge so other can learn and enjoy this art, but I was not talking about anyone in particular, just in general of how it used to be ✌🏻

@@MrTieDye That's why I love and respect everyone that shares their knowledge with the rest of RU-vid. Without people like you, a lot of people wouldn't be into tie-dye or not understand how large the learning curve is. Dying fabric goes back who knows how long but it wouldn't be as complex is it is without the internet. As more people come together and learn from each other, the more and more intricate the designs will be. Who knows what will look like 10 years 15 years from now. " Be the change you want to see"
