I hate MSI. Picked a GT63 and the ram is on the underside of the motherboard. Fucking hell i have to disassemble it to add an additonal ram stick

It is an MXM Mobile 2080, so 150W max as stated by Nvidia. Poor Dell, managed to make their m51 with a propeitary gpu socket..... instead of just waiting for MXM Availability. Already redundant at release. smh

Kninez Banky what’s wrong with socket? The whole reason for that is so it could intentionally be upgraded. It has its benefits. Imagine just your gpu failed on mxm but all else failed. But now you got to spend nearly 2000 on a replacement motherboard. More depending on what cpu you had. With socket you just replace the gpu. So it would more like be poor you.

@@KING0SISQO I agree with you. What I mean is that Alienware's recent M51 DOES NOT USE MXM.....it uses a removable card, but a propietary one that is not guaranteed upgradeable. You'll be completely dependent and at the mercy of Dell/Alienware releasing newer cards, and at whatever price they charge. I was scolding them for that decision in my last comment.

@@kninezbanks It is actually an MXM based, but it is custom. like their old Precision line of laptops. But you are correct, they are not compatible with Clecos MXM cards

If you use liquid metal on both the CPU and GPU and keep it stock, undervolt then it shouldn't be too bad.

Gs have less powerfull specs and weak thermals... the sweet spot is the ge75 but it's ugly...

- 225franc - I don’t think you got the point of my post lol so you have a big heavy laptop JUST for 1080p when you can have a thin and light that can do the same thing? My point is why not have a thin and light so it’s not a pain to carry around because right now I have a heavy Alienware from 2013 and I’m tired of the big heavy laptops. I will be getting a GS75 in a week or 2 and I can’t wait! Overall I’m saying why would anyone get a 10lb laptop when they have thin and lights or even just smaller laptop that have the SAME exact specs? And can do the same exact thing.

@Majin MJ there are 400 watt passively cooled pc ones, with what's the limit on these power bricks on airplanes? Put a fan on it with a cover for dust where u move it if u need extra cooling the power supply

Btw imaigne a giant heavy block just sitting there connected to the wall and your laptop. It's a bit more convenient this way.

Either way the guide works on a old laptop so try it :] ~~ @@subarusan3107 Right click on your desktop click AMD Radeon Settings Go to Settings > Switchable Graphics, and find the games name (for ex, GTAV.exe) after that click the game and click High Performance. If you already did that ^^ you can right click the battery icon near the wifi icon, click power options set it to high performance, and after that click change plan settings > change advance power settings. Scroll down and find Switchable Dynamic Graphics click on it > Global Settings > set all to maximize performance, after doing that find AMD Graphics Power Settings > AMD Powerplay Settings set all to maximize performance. if you already did that ^^^ do this : right click on the windows icon (can be found in the bottom left corner) click device manager click Display Adapters right click on your graphics card and click Update Driver > Search Automatically for updated driver software. if nothing works you can go to www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support-product/7605?b=1 and try to update your bios etc. Hope this help :) my GTA V can run on the highest settings and my fps was around 80 :]

I still have a GT783 going from like 2012 havnt any issues at all and it's had 100's of hours of gaming use.

I still have a GT73EVR from March 2018 with a GTX 1080, and the only problem I had is the blue led lighting is getting dim on the keyboard, but it's the old 3-zone rgb, not the new per-key rgb, other than that, it's still a monster with the i7 7th gen. 7820HK. If you get one, go for the 32-64GB RAM if you can afford it, it will help future-proof it for years to come, and you won't need more than 64GB for many years to come.

I saw one on ebay like 2-3 months ago for like 400-500$ ( Wish I had bought it) they are like super duper rare ... Because that card ONLY fits this machine.. and only the highest specs had them which weren't a lot and they eliminated the MXM cards altogether for the gt 76 titan......

Because that card is capable of running games at 4k with ease

@@hughmungus6838 yeah i know that, but laptop performance currently cant afford to play 4k games at an absolute ease stage. Trust me, if ur a gamer, u will definitely choose a nice and fast screen rather than a 4k one, moreover, the problem in thermal cooling on laptop is also a barrier.

Does it give the same fps as desktop RTX 2080?

Because I saw that Msi ge75vr 7rf titan has gtx 1080 and it gives same performance as gtx 1080 in desktop.I really want to learn that if this laptop also gives the same fps performances in games as desktop rtx 2080

Pretty sure exactly same specs but lower base and turbo clocks to combat the heat I have the GT75 i7 9750H nvidia 2070 edition, it runs everything I've thrown at it flawless I doubt you'd notice much difference between the two as those i9s are toasty under load as is my i7

The appeal is performance. Those slim 2080 laptops barely have the performance of a desktop 2060 because they're clocked so much lower than the desktop version.

In most games it is better to have a single 2080 over a 1080 GPU. There's still plenty that have decent scaling but not enough to really make it worth it. It just comes down to what games you play.
