Extreme Creations MT07 Turbo kit on a 2014 model goes up against a 2017 model MT09 with Akrapovic exhaust. For Turbo kits check out our store page www.extremecre...
As an MT09 owner, I can confirm that thing makes power everywhere. These bikes are torque monsters, I tried to convince a dude the MT07 is also stupid fast and fun, but he had to have the bigger bike.
LostMoto Some people prefer the MT07 to those bikes, while a turbo kit isn't for everyone some people like the idea of giving their MT07 more power & torque than a MT09 for under US$3K
Interesting.. really good gains and a very clean kit. If you don't mind me asking what's the boost to back pressure? I run a compound turbo 155cc single and I'm almost past my 100whp goal but not quite. Currently I can manage about a 1:1 boost to BP at the top around 50psi but once I turn it up beyond 60 it's starts to grow noticably. Bigger turbine housing on the primary turbo didn't help.. stating to wonder if I need a manifold with more volume. I know single by 25psi the it was around 1:1.5boost to BP by 35psi it was horrible.
It's really cool and shows how you can get a good deal of kick from that parallel but let's be real for the money put in you could get an 09 with air box, exhaust, tune and probably make just as much if not very close power. Maybe not as much torque but yeah. I have an Fz07 and plan to set up to the MT10 after seeing how much it would cost to bump up the stats
MT07 has a factory motor; pistons; connectors; or just put, a turbo kit; and in the case of a factory motor, How long do you think will last with factory Motor;
Guys are blowing their naturally aspirated engines at 100hp on the track pretty regularly. I have yet to see extreme creations comment on suggested longevity or any known issues, so I can only assume the stock internals are good to 100hp. The turbo might be a little easier on it due to the way it ramps the power, but still..
Thats sick it really is badass but the real question is will the stock internals live at that power and torque levels or will it grenade? I feel like if you are willing to shell out something in the neiborhood of what, 3 or 4 grand to just turbo your bike, why not go all the way amd invest in some pistons, rods etc.....?
This looks like a fantastic idea to me, as an existing MT-07 Tracer owner. $3000 is about 2500€ so not too, too expensive. I know how well my Tracer + TEC exhaust goes today, but tomorrow turbo-powered ??? Me likey !!!!
MX Forrest we have set the boost at a level that keeps the power & torque well within the safe range for the stock engine. As long as the maintenance schedule is adhered to there's no reason it won't last like a stock motor.
@@extcreat hahahahahah! "No reason it shouldn't last as long as a stock engine"? That's funny. No reflection on you, but 90% would kill it the first week. Cool ride though, I'm sure it would be a double handful. Thanks for posting.
It's just the method we use on the dyno, full throttle with the dyno locked for a second or so to settle the AFR then let the dyno start to ramp up, nothing to do with the bike itself, BTW there's no lag.
I empty my 09 tank in 120kms through the chiang mai mountains, i often have to top up with an extra can. With a turbo id need a 4x4 following me with a 50 gallon drum in the back.
Hi all i have been on the Extreme Creations website [as most of you have] and the full turbo kit excluding map-tune is a very reasonable 2000 pounds UK prices all you would need from there is either a power commander and tune or re-flash your ecu so in my opinion the MT09 IS a much heavier bike for smaller riders like myself so getting an extra 40-45 BHP into that little MT07 is well worth the cost . I fookd up a bit because my 1st choice was the MT07 but when i rode the demo it must have been the restricted version of 35KW only 47-49 BHP the full DE-RESTRICTED has 75BHP so i bought the 2019 CB500X thinking i could add more power but you cannot it is what it is with a piddling 47HP. All manufacturers de-tune their engines by a good 25-35percent so your grandma dont go grenading the engine in 500 miles so there is at least that number that CAN be played with ,yes with 115WHP you are at the very limit but who is going to thrash a new turbo install all the time unless your prepared to rebuild the engine every 2000 miles ,yes you would already have run the engine in properly put at least 1000-2000 miles on the bike before so you can rolling road it without worrying so after seeing this my bike with only 180 miles is going in PX for a 2019 MT07 hope this helps SCOOBS UK.
I'm positive an MT09 is a better financial choice, but turbo your bike if you want too. My stock MT09 is pretty light, not sure what your talking about though. If you were pretty short that could be pain, but that's true for any bike. My first bike was an adv bike and I could not touch the ground at all with both feet - it was totally fine, just took some getting use too
fine love both bikes but that engine on the MT-07 was never built for the turbo so is it just a ticking time bomb or is it like a supra/hayabusa just over built and can take that all day?
it really depends on the engine... the supra like you said, with full stock engine and gearbox it can handle 500/600hp without being a ticking time bomb because the 2jz and the gearbox are really strong, but I don't think the stock engine and gearbox from the mt07 can handle this much of power
all the car and bike who are frequently tuned its not for nothing, the supra and the Hayabusa are reliable, but if you want to boost a ktm... well it's not even reliable stock
I’d much rather have the MT09, you’re talking about major reliability issues with that MT07, not to mention paying more for the bike and the turbo kit than an MT09 costs. It does sound amazing though 😍
Can you make like exhaust video please? ... for like pop sound, low/medium/high rev.... ? I am curious to hear what it sounds like. But a beautiful monster you created.
@@extcreat With the additions I would want thats about £4k. certainly something to think about. I still have my GPZ 750 which puts out about 116bhp( on a v good day) been thinking about a turbo kit for this XSR for a year now. Your fast response fills me with confidence. if I email you on the website could you send my a spec list, I need to know my local garage can fit it for me. thank you.
I was referring to the bike as a whole, and the overall geometry is involved. There is so much load transfer, she just loves to wheelie. I think that better suspension will probably not be enough, maybe a longer swingarm can do the trick. By the way, I like the stock (2018) bike, not the best weapon on the mountains but it does well enough for the occasional ride: you can keep the pace of faster bikes if you know what you are doing. And it's super easy and fun in the city (I use it as my only mean of trasportation all year long). I always had my bikes 100% stock and I try to buy something that fits me as it is, however I appreciate the technical knowledge of crazy experiments and tuning. Just keep in mind that is not something for everybody and the fun is in the making rather than the riding. For the regular guys like me, getting a bike that rides the way we want from the factory is just cheaper and safer.
Not at all, our turbo kits are designed as street orientated to safely work on a stock engine without affecting reliability, as long as regular maintenance schedules are adhered to.
@@extcreat The stock 07 can't push the internals as hard as the turbo version so how is it possible to have no effect reliability? I'm no mechanic so enlighten me if I'm thinking incorrectly.
