MT09 Cruise Control HACK!!!!

In this video, I go over how I have a five dollar rubber vacuum cap installed on my clutch lever in order to activate the cruise control with my Womet-Tech levers that are not SP compatible. Visit TST industries website for the levers if you’re interestedAnd go to AutoZone or any discount auto parts store for the vacuum caps. Probably less than five bucks.

Also reinstates the engine kill feature if you let the clutch out with the sidestand down with the bike in gear. Does not happen very often but you will be thankful if it does. Good work 👍

This also applies to the front brake lever as well. Micro switch has two clicks as well!

Nice simple solution! That never crossed my mind. I couldn't get used to the cable clutch on mine (all my other bikes have hydraulic) so I replaced the cable with a hydraulicalic master cylinder and ran into the cruise control issue. I ended up sourcing the same switch and brand Yamaha uses in a SPDT and that did the trick, the one click engages both clutch switch functions.

Brooo!! Thank you!😂 I never knew that was there and thought because I put my exhaust on it made it so my cruise control wouldn’t work but I did levers at the same time so now I see that my switch doesn’t engage all the way so I’ll just do something like this!

You're saying, "To Activate" the cruise control. I think you should be saying to deactivate the cruise control. When you start to squeeze the clutch or the front brake lever the micro switches turns off (deactivates) the cruise control.

I bought Aliexpress levers (savage) and the cruise control works as normal and to be honest I personally prefer the brushed look of the levers I have than look better than your womet-tech. Not dissing your levers. Just saying that there are options out there for every mt09 rider to mod their bike how they want to.

Very true. Never seen them. I’m sure they look great, I’ve had other people say they nought some off Ali an Amazon that had the same issue. That’s why I made the video. But like you say, it’s your bike so what you think works for you is ok with me. Ride safe an thank you for the feedback.

i also bought the savage levers from aliexpress for my sp and the cruise control is just fine , yamayari even asked me on the facebook forum about them :)

I got asv but it cruise control still doesn’t activate cruise control and I hear the two clicks?!

@@MrSharaf9 just add some length to the pin switch, I used a Vacum cap. It worked. That’s how I figured it out. Then I glued it lol

this mod 1 , have an impact at your driving ? you know , 1 mod keep you on kind of train rails ?? ! Cause averybody said how playful is the Tracer 900 and Mt09 ,but when i ride it , i didnt find it playful at all . Now... this conclusion is falty cause the bike was set at mod 1 when i ride it ??????

Not unless it's in your ECU. I expect it isn't on the basis that they don't want it to turn on by accident and go all tesla out of control.

Cruise control won’t work unless that plunger is activated by being pressed in.

There's a switch on the brake and clutch lever that disengages the cruise control. If you're running on cruise control you can just tap the lever and it will switch off. If those switches aren't set right then the ECU won't let you engage cruise control in the first place. This is about correcting that initial state as well as allowing the disengagement switch to work.

Ive worked for the phone company for over 15 years as a construction splicer, maintenance splicer, and now i'm a tech 2. So lots of trouble shooting. Also now Fiber as well.
