Bike is a 2023 MT-09 with a Roads Italia Special Carbon exhaust with cat. The exhaust exceeded my expectations, and was able to do some quantitative testing on how much of an improvement over stock the exhaust makes, and doing so with the stock flash. Im totally aware that flashing the ecu will yield a few more horsepower, my goal here was to test the exhaust only. It should also be noted that all testing was done at approximately 6000 feet MSL.
Anyways, assembly was easy, and the overall fit and finish of the system was quite good. Everything seemed handmade, with no machine welds.
Sound is good, and with the cat I would say its still plenty loud enough, just about at my on limit on what Im willing to tolerate on long rides without earplugs. Its a really good quality sound too in my opinion. With the db killer in, its a good improvement over stock, without being too loud. The stock db killer choked the bike out so hard that it made most certainly LESS horsepower than stock. So modified the db killer slightly, and now its a good sound with slightly more power than stock (maybe 1 hp).
With no dB killer in the bike made 113hp and 66ft-lbs of torque.
Overall, Id definitely recommend this exhaust. The looks improvement and sound improvement over the stock dangling exhaust, was a major upgrade.
