For anyone asking about Liliana's Contract. The card just reads "pay 4 life to draw 4 cards". If you ever manage to assemble 4 Demons with different names, you should have already won the game under most circumstances. Paying 4 life and not impacting the board is a very dangerous proposition in Standard, there's a reason why the card doesn't see play. Treasure Map with Pirate's Pillage gives you all the late game card draw you want, while still being relevant cards early.

That's why it usually includes setup like demon from Rite appearing at upkeep AND using Lazav's ability on the same upkeep to copy another demon. It's a surprise win con, extremely difficult but possible.

Nice, i have an incredibly similar build to that, and its been quite fun so far :) I built a Jund Midrange deck afterwards, and Rakdos (dreature) has been absolutely insane with Rythem of the Wild for me.

strangely enough, but I think the etb sound effect of that doom whisperer in the second match is the death voice of bloodmage in Warcraft 3😂😂😂 and I’m pretty sure about it😂

I think i would personnaly remove 2 cast down and 1 bedevil(or 1 lava coil) for 3 mortify for more control against enchantement deck. But the rest of the deck is truly amazing! Thanks for the idea LegenVD

I hate it when only one side gets to play. That‘s why I can‘t bring myself to play a Teferi deck, even though I have 3 Teferis. And yes to all MTG Arena Original Decks fans, I know it is pronounced Tefari ;)

Elgrun23 I'm glad people are finally seeing MTG Original Decks. He is one of the dumbest to watch and his decks always have a gr8 backbone. Not many people knew who he was til Nox did one of his decks. It is hilarious when he wonders why Vivien can't bounce his Immortal Sun, but I think he's figured that one out now. Still love hearing his commentary like he's a communist in an 80s movie

bedevil is a bit better against planeswalkers i guess (teferi, vivien,...), but in bo1 you cant really set up well against everything..

Consecrate is also very useful for taking the arclight phoenix out while its trigger is on the stack, at least before opponent has like 3 in the GY

Hey LegenVD, long time viewer here. My main standard deck is golgari midrange, but i've been toying with the idea of splashing in some red for rhythm of the wild and adding some trollbred guardians to synergize with my wildgrowth walkers and explore creatures. Do you have any insight on this? Would you be willing to make a decklist like this and try it out?

You're probably better off splashing blue for Hydroid Krasis, I don't think the Troll is quite constructed playable.

In traditional draft (from sealed promocode) i first picked Rakdos. And three times in a row miss Ghor-Clan Wreeker with it's sweap. One time it kills one of one my creature and miss 2 of three of opponent. Then killed one of three creatures of my opponent and then miss Ghor-Clan Wreeker third time (who smached me to death, cause i had only one removal in the deck). God, i hate random!

Is it not worth using enchantments or lands that use a creature type? Also Immortal Sun because theres no planeswalkers but they could be added perhaps? Maybe they're just too slow because there are enough big creatures.

A effect that gives +1 / +1 to all your creatures is huge if you have a lot of small creatures, and not great at all if you have few creatures that are already big

It depends really. For example I won't use matches where someone mulligans into oblivion, I try to avoid the same matchup twice.

Why no liliana's contract? Card advantage and wincon in the same card seems better to me than just card advantage. Plus, that would give you an out against decks like turbofog, which are pretty popular these days

Pillage is cheaper cost + treasures and no life lost, if this deck had more lifegain i would support it has like 5 cards that are only situational life gain.

Unfortunately due to the amount of card draw and counterspells in turbo fog the contract is just too gimmicky. It's a five card combo win (4 demons and the contract itself). If any those are countered then you pretty much just lose and thus pulling that off against turbo fog is just a pipedream. The contract also significantly weakens your match up against aggro and midrange due to losing life and being more expensive than pillage. Tbh when you think about it contract is just a bad card in almost every conceivable match up.

Like roy wagh pointed out so perfectly, it's a five card combo win all being 4 mana or more to cast. Using something like Arcane Adaptation however would definitely make Contract a lot more viable.

@@reapersaurus Liliana's Contract is only playable vs Control, where the lifeloss doesn't matter. Comparing it to Pillage doesn't magically make it cost 3 mana. Pillage gives you card selection early, which is important in BO1 where you need to find the right answers for opposing threats. Against aggro decks you often die with cards in hand, it's the selection that matters. Some of your removal spells are dead vs control and Pillage likely turns them into better cards, in which case it did net you virtual cards. In the longer grindy games those Treasures will eventually turn into extra cards with a flipped Map.

Legend shrugs it off, I've never seen him get mad at all. A lot of people could learn from him when it comes to staying calm. I still like Noxious but it's a bit ridiculous how he acts when he doesn't curve out every game.

Yes, but I sometimes forget to put the stop again as it goes away every time. Sometimes if you put the stop on upkeep during the opponent's end step it won't register and still skip past it.

@@LegenVD actually can confirm ive had that issue it happens usually during combat phase when passing to main phase 2. It unclicks upkeep stop. Really annoying. And yeah I just put it there for anyone who might not have understood and thought you were missing it too.

I get and share some of the hate for the fog deck but end of the day it's a game and people can do what they want. I hate the BM though. Emoting "Nice" after having already taken away all Legen's lands. I hate that some people do things just to irritate and take fun from other players.

I feel like you want phoenix in this deck. Doesn't die to rakdos on its own, and is way better than spawn of mayhem in this deck which is a 4 mana 4/4 flying almost all the time, albeit with upside.

Nexus of fate is the card I hate the most, a guy used it more than 4 times, I could not do anything, it was so much boredom that I had to withdraw from the game. Another strategy that I hate, is the deck that discards your deck in a very fast way. Your deck is quite solid, good games

If you have 4 unique demons on board do you really need Liliana's contract to win though? You likely have such a huge board presence you would win with or without the contract. If you don't have 4 unique demons then Liliana's contract is just a mediocre draw card that is likely worse in more situations than any other card in your deck. Overall putting in the contract likely loses you more games than it wins.

Cool deck! But 3 colors and a bunch of mythics are almost unaccesable to most players :( I spent 3 months building the Boros Angels deck. Maybe I would try all in Rackdos colors with Immortal Sun and Ritual of Soot.

It's literally the easiest deck to beat if you SB properly. A single resolved unmoored ego dooms them, ixalans binding, spyglass, disdainful, aggro. It's a tough game one but magic is a game of 3

Just a heads up to all your viewers, that Turbo Fog game was most likely played by a bot. In fact, the majority of bots in the game are turbo fog players. This player specifically went for creating extra soldiers when he had lethal a long time ago with the Karnstructs. In the past there was a glitch where selecting "Okay" when the opponent reveals his Nexus of Fate wouldn't time you out, and people would leave it on their computer for hours, come back, and the Turbo Fog player would continue as usual as if he wasn't sitting there for hours waiting.

It's so cute, listening cries about how turbofog is bad, cancer, unfair... Turn 4 heroic reinforcements for lethal is good? Turn 4 Galtha in last meta was fair? Sweep the board and then diallow to play anything by Jeskai is't cancer? That deck is the weakest version of "control" (it doen't really control anything) of all time. It gets wrecked by any agro deck and it's completly ruled by any real control. It matches well only against midrange and slow (poor) creature decks. It's so inconsistent in this meta full of noncombat damage, that is not even funny. It's like mill deck - it feels really well, if you mill someone, but most of the time, you just lose. So please, all of you, stop crying like a small childs, against this junky deck...

So it's bad to play as and awful to play against. It also encourages people to play super aggro with the mono red or mono white decks that are all over the place now, or better control like the jeskai you complained about it. It's as if that deck only exists to make the game worst. Cancer is probably a strong word, but why do you defend it?

Yes. Cause even in this situation sometimes i can win. This deck don't strip you off of answers and plays. Even discard leave you option to play. You clearly don't understand the core problem this teferi. You can't take away players audacity. You must not design such card. Game lost - this is natural and with perfect MM you will have 50% WR always. You don't even play - this is different story.
