Welcome back to 13 Nights of Magic! A series dedicated to all things creepy and spooky in Magic: The Gathering!
In this video we take a look at the little known race known as the Dauthi. These horrific creatures are natives to Dominaria.. but thanks to the invasion of the Phyrexians, were abducted to a world of Shadow. The darkness doesnt bother them.. they continue to hunt those who seek light.

"Shadow" seems like a strictly worse "unblockable" but creates a parallel battlefield very much in sync with the flavor. Thanks for sharing, Seiben!

I like that the shadow mechanic reflects how these creatures are stuck in the shadows and can't interact with the rest

Hey Seiben! Thanks for the amazing work so far, your channel is awesome :) Could you please do Thrun, the Last Troll? I litteraly found no info on the internet, aside from a vague story involving Melira, which makes it even more interesting yet frustrating not to know :) Also, the Soltari seem like an awesome tribe (Soltari priest promo edition is an incredibly beautiful card!). I really like and appreciate that you make these lore videos. I'm new to magic and my understanding has been greatly increased by your videos. I also think it's rad that you give cards away. my only complaint is that all the mtg lore is in random and different playlists on your RU-vid channel which has made it a little difficult to try and watch them in any sort of order. the video I would really like to see is a lie video on Nicol bolas. I've herd this catcher mentioned a lot in many other lore videos but I don't know his story. forgive me if you have a nicol bolas lore video already I've only watched like 75% of your videos. thanks for making these videos!

The only vehicle that I don't have in my Depala EDH yet! Also, thanks for the lore on the Dauthi. I started playing Magic in RTR, but after switching my token deck to EDH when Theros hit, I've been very interested in the older sets.

My personal favourite is Dauthi Mindripper. The art's interesting, and it's always fun to hit someone with every so often. Got it in my budget Alesha commander deck.

The Dauthi are one of the coolest creature types in my opinion, I really want them to come back. Shadow is an awesome mechanic too, not quite as overpowered as unblockable, but more powerful than fear.

Really odd race, I hope one day they revisit this plan just to see the changes, if I am not mistaken it was last visited during the time spiral block. I really enjoy your channel plz keep up the content
