Nice video! I've had a Kabota M9540 ROPS for about seven years now, and now I've just ordered a new (smaller) B2650 with cab to do the things that I can't do with the larger tractor. Seven years ago I couldn't think of a reason why I would need a grapple on my farm, but after watching videos of folks using them, I can now see getting one. I don't have a third function on either of my Kabota(s), but I have been thinking about getting them from EA. I like the way that you quickly and methodically explain each step of the installation. Unlike most videographers, you don't waste our time by showing us the unnecessary processes.... the things that we already know how to do. Again, great video.

I'll check it out now.....and definitely thanks for the comment! I left you a couple comments last week - one on the radiator repair and one on the top soil leveling. Great videos as usual. I just got a GoPro Hero 8 and I messing around with learning how to use it. Hopefully I can start using it soon. Stay well Bro!

BotaTrac awesome man! You’ll def have to let me know how that hero 8 works out. The 7 is trash if you ask me, but I have heard very good things about the 8 so please keep me informed! It will prolly be my next camera purchase as well. As for my install video of the 3rd function it’s finished but I have to edit it and upload it yet; I’m hoping by Tom night it will be uploaded. And I did finally see your comments and replied, I felt terrible I didn’t see them sooner but sometimes my phone acts weird and doesn’t show me all the recent comments and I’ll finally see them a week later. I always appreciate your kind words!

I understand what your saying. Several of the fittings on both of my Kubota's leaked at the flare regardless of how tight they were. Too much China in those systems. Thanks for your comment and for watching my video! Stay well!! Please like, share and subscribe!

@@BotaTrac he is correct no tape no dope. they make copper crush washers for JIC (flare fittings) that are used to seal the leaks

Nice video. The pipe sealant is not necessary on those threads because they are not a tapered thread rather a straight thread. The sealing on these fittings comes from the two machined 45 degree Bevell's coming together. Nice tractor, have a good day.

LOVED the comment "accident waiting to happen" about people using teflon tape on those connections. Wait till that liquid stuff you bragged about squeezes out like tooth paste INTO your hydro system. They are COMPRESSION fittings. You don't use ANY sealant on the connections.

Did your l2501 come with that seat? Just took delivery of mine, upgraded from b2650. I asked for one with arm rests and they said I had to go aftermarket..
@BotaTrac
@BotaTrac 3 года назад
Very true - I got the one you see in the video for $170 on eBay a couple of years ago. It was for another tractor but I too found out that Kubota is kinda goofy about their seats. Thanks for your comment and support!

I got 90s for my valve. The hoses going straight up was a recipe for disaster and looks ridiculous. The other issue with that kit is the crappy joystick. Fortunately, the Mahindra joystick had a plug in it that can be easily removed and a little time with a 3d printer had a nice adapter and I've got the perfect setup.

Just note Teflon tape and paste is not a sealant it is a tread Lubricant, and you do not use it on flare fittings. Its for use on tapered pipe threads and Lubricants the threads allowing the male / female metal fittings to fully tighten with out galling. Possibly the Teflon paste you used actually Lubricanted the nut threads on the flare fitting which may have been already over tighten and galled, this could have allow a higher flare compression force thus stopping the leakage. Just my opinion 36 year instrument mechanic.
@BotaTrac
@BotaTrac 3 года назад
I'm sure that you're 10,000% right. I'm not a mechanic. I am a plumbers son. We do use Teflon paste on black iron pipe carrying natural gas so I had it on hand. The situation I have is that I have 2 Kubota tractors. for the longest time - I would develop leaks at the flare fittings. I thought that because they were already tighter than I was comfortable with, maybe they were just Chinese quality crap (???). Of all the thread paste I had on hand - the teflon paste was successful in stopping the leaks without over tightening them. I do use it sparingly and you have offered the best explanation so far, (.....And I have received my fair share of criticism for using teflon on those flare fittings) the paste lubricates the threads and prevents distortion to the thread surfaces due to excessive heat or friction during the tightening process. Thanks for your comment and for watching my video! You're continued support means a lot to me!

My l2501 isn’t hst. It’s a stick is the instillation going to be the same?
@BotaTrac
@BotaTrac 3 года назад
I honestly don't know. I would check your manual to see what the flow rate is 1st - that will determine what valve you get. Otherwise, the plumbing will be the same unless you have a rear sub-frame and backhoe. Hope that helps, I really appreciate your comment and support!! Please don't forget to like, share and subscribe!

You done good,The only thing i have is you bought wrong tractor if you say thread locker tape is bad because kubota uses it on most all their hydralic lines..look at some of the hydralic lines and see if you dont see white tape on them,especilly the backhoe,I watched a video eariler and the direction book even said to use tape , just food for thought...
@BotaTrac
@BotaTrac 3 года назад
Thanks Joe! You're right - the stock hydraulic connections are COVERED in teflon tape on the Kubota machines. Here's my thoughts......technically, you shouldn't even need thread sealer on flared hydraulic connections because the threads are tapered to seal when tightened. Almost (not all) of those fittings are screwed into aluminum (parts, controls, bulkheads, etc). I not a mechanic at all - I know enough to be dangerous!! (ha, ha) I think the teflon paste is the lesser of two evils to prevent leaks IF IT IS USED SPARINGLY. I just want to get the best info I can out to my audience. Hydraulic fluid leaking all over the barn floor from leaky fittings CAN be the source of eventual over-tightening. But getting back to your point - again, you're absolutely right! Thanks for your comment. I really appreciate it. I hope you'll catch some of my other videos - like, share and subscribe! Talk soon!
