As someone that used to ride the defendant got off REALLY easy! Bike plastics are worth their weight in gold and diamonds. Like crazy expensive. Add in the cost of the foot pegs and oil cover and the other odds and bobs, $680.- is unbelievably reasonable. If I crashed someones bike and they told me it was only $680.- I'd get up and hug them and then transfer the money to them on the spot. For reference, I rode my brothers Harley Street Glide and although I didn't crash it, I did tip it over in a parking spot and dented/scraped up one side of his exhaust. Turns out that exhaust was only made for one year and the company had to make him a new one-off set by hand. $2200.- was the bill. Definitely not a paltry sum of money but that's also reasonable for a bespoke product like that. Paid him the minute he found out what the cost was - it's what you do when you damage someone's property.

Electrical engineering, money, fame, good look, etc. doesn't define who you are as a person. It's taking care of your responsibilities, doing the right thing, and doing what you say you were gonna do.

Slow speed riding/turning/maneuvering a bike is FAR more difficult than going fast in a straight line. So for the defendant who is def. not an experienced rider, who also hasn't ridden a bike in years-the LAST place to test it out is in a 10 MPH neighborhood where he's gotta make a slow turn after just 20 feet. The bike was fine. This guy got on, killed the clutch, then probably went about 15 feet before the hitting the end of the cul-de-sac and just couldn't turn so he dumped it. Pay the man!

By the way there is no such thing as a clutch layout. What he means is the shift pattern....... which is the same on nearly every motorcycle.......and that particular bike has six speeds. First gear is down are up on the shifter........ again like every motorcycle ever made. Usually the only difference would be how many gears the bike has. The shift pattern remains the same. The fact that this guy doesn't even know how to explain it really makes me wonder how he owned the same bike before. Bottom line is he hadn't ridden a motorcycle in a long time and wanted to ride his buddy's bike after the other guy didn't buy it, and he crashed it plain and simple. It was definitely not the motorcycles fault. The owner didn't crash it because it was unsafe and the guy who was looking at it to buy it didn't crash it because it was unsafe. Seems like the only person to crash it because it's unsafe is the defendant. Funny how that works isn't it?

Well looks like this is another one that you can call the outcome just from the intro. Amazing that someone could ride a motorcycle and crash it and try to make someone else responsible for paying for it. Sorry but that's not what insurance is for. That would be what insurance was for had he put insurance coverage on it before he rode it. In any event he's responsible because he was riding it and he has to pay for the damage.

You always pull the clutch in for 1 st gear the rest if you want can be done without the clutch it’s called dry shifting

Plaintiff is definitely sketchy. No proof of the original intent to sale to the first customer (that was ironically going to happen "later that week")nor proof that he had to sell at a lower price to the second customer. I doubt either one happened. No formal estimate from a body shop. No receipts, just bank statements...who's to say he didn't add unnecessary items to the order? Sketchy.
