I replayed that part 10x. I actually asked Joe about the car ride back in 95'. I even asked him if Ali ever paid him the 500 dollars he gave him. He was just so amazed that I knew about all of that because I was only 16 or so. Good Times.
@@azertyqwerty5946 He said Ali never paid it back but he said it was no problem because he took it out on him in the ring. Joe showed Ali love in public but in private and to those closest to him will tell you that he despised Ali and never forgave him for going to far in 75. He felt like Ali betrayed him only to add insult to injury.
@@azertyqwerty5946 Well the whole lead up to the Thrilla in Manila. The event was sold, the contracts were signed yet Ali was on crusade to insult Joe. He may have just been being himself to others but The Fraziers were very offended. Marvis was bullied in school by people imitating Ali, calling him monkey and ugly. When Muhammad found out about that in particular, he went to see Marvis and apologized. But he never apologized to Joe which made Joe even moreso hurt by his actions.
@@joshie6213 Nah man, Ali was Goku. Frazier was Vegeta, always proud, seriously and ready for battle. He even met... his own Freezer (Frazier, Freezer, Frazier, lol, Ali would rap to this) named Foreman who whooped his ass but lost against(Goku) Ali. There was no Goku without Vegeta, there was no Ali without Joe.
Ninja Style I dunno, the reason I say Ali is Vegeta cause he’s like good deep down but he’s arrogant and proud like Vegeta, and Frazier well tbh I’m no expert on either of them but he seemed like a more standup kind of guy, so that’s why I was maybe gonna equate him to Goku. Either way they both Super Saiyans lol
Both were proud to be honest but don't forget who was more funny and likable. And most of that, who was more talented and be able to fight any opponent. Fight and win. Don't get me wrong, I respect Frazier, I love Joe because of his great heart but comparing to Ali... U know I mean?
Indeed I love Joe but man Muhammad was a espacial being. I wish Joe hadn’t take him so serious in the buildup to the fights it was all laughs for Ali but Joe was livid.
You can’t help but smile when they hugged it out. I mean all the trash talk they did to each other from Ali calling Frazier a gorilla and Frazier actually praying to god that he helps him kill Ali to hugging it out and smiling at each other…it was so remarkable to see
@@Respect12948 oh yeah absolutely. He started it all when he basically called Frazier a traitor for not being involved in civil rights issues. And Frazier stood up for Ali when he refused to go to Vietnam war.
Chael has Anderson on his show from time to time. When Cain tried killing that pedotrash Junior Dos Santos stood up for him and I think he donated money to his bail? Not confirmed on that but there are MMA fighters who respect one another
They spend 41 round world tittle fight together with full sweat and blood, but that hug is a proof that they love each other. Both of them had a big big heart.
Im a filipino and their last fight was in manila city , the thrilla in manila. Was not born that time yet but when i watched the entire match, it sas amazing and at times, was out of breath. Truly an amazing trilogy, an action-packed rivalry
Those two men experienced something together no one else could. That’s what made their relationship with one another one of a kind. They both knew it too.
@@mochiisntbad6762yeah unfortunately though Joe found it very difficult to forgive Muhammad for the cruel things he said :/ Joe would later say some very cruel things himself when Muhammad couldn't speak.
Man it gives me goosebumps when I see that name Joseph William Frazier, though I am a die hard Ali fan , tons and tons of respect to this impeccable Olympic Gold medalist 🏅,Ali literally loved him and admired he so muchhhh.
RESPECT!!!!! Love it!!!!! Yes I’ve gone to war with many in my time. But I can truly say I respected them all. We’d fight and then go have drinks together. Some great memories. Lots of people don’t understand this, but I can truly say I would go to war with these guys I fought. No matter what color they are. Warriors!!!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏
So much laughter, so much mutual respect, sportsmanship, it's wonderful to watch and listen to these two legends, but unfortunately the sportsmanship disappeared with them, today's fighters could learn a lot from these two men, these two kings... R.I.P. 👑👑
Joe Frazier is a legend no doubt but Tyson was better. Not to take credit from Joe of course but Tyson's peekaboo style was an invention by Cus D'mato inspired heavily by Joe's "smoking" Cus d'mato used his understanding of boxing to cover up the weaknesses in Joe's style and and taught it to Tyson since it was created for shorter guys with low reach to gain the advantage through fast paced aggression, pressure and elusiveness. If they were to meet in the ring as they were Tyson would have definitely won but not because he was more talented than Joe, he simply had better boxing knowledge and technique because of his era.
For two guys who were said to have hated each other, especially Joe, they seem to be quite affectionate toward each other here, either that or they are putting on one hell of an act.
It’s more of a rivals to friends thing. Meeting after retirement probably awoke something in both of them as they went after each other with words lmao
Génial. Toute mon enfance. Cette rivalité entre deux géants de la boxe j'ai adoré. J'avais une préférence pour "Smokin" Joe FRAZIER. C'est avec une grande émotion que je regarde régulièrement cette vidéo. Quelle grande classe.
I’m lost. Sports Illustrated did an article years after this clip in which Joe mocked a trembling Ali lighting the Olympic torch, and gleefully took credit for Ali’s Parkinson’s Disease. Ali loved Joe and went to Joe’s funeral. The article claimed older Joe hated Ali. I realize Ali only said those nasty things about Joe to provoke controversy and promote their fights. But I wish Ali had done a better job mending fences. Regardless, at this point in time they got along fine, and I love Joe’s Ali impression.

These men knew each other so well i found it so funny that at 3:13 when Ali said how you’d get Joe Frazier here? Joe knew Ali tended to always repeat his name and silently mouthed Joe Frazier exactly as Ali repeatedly it lol
