Hell yes! Orochi has no defenses, now it's time to lay the smackdown. Copyrights to Okami belong to former Clover, ReadyatDawn Studios (for Wii port), and ultimately Capcom.
I love how throughout the beginning of the game it was all about Orochi. It kind of made you almost scared to see what he looks like. A lot of games don't build up tension and really make you dread the villain.
Amatarasu for smash and this song, Ryoshima Coast and Kushi's Ride should be with it, amongst others. The stage should be Orochi's battlefield with Orochi's heads as the stage hazard.
Honestly I would so be down with Amaterasu joining the smash roster, she is perfect and has potential to have a unique move set, let’s hope for the best!!
Ammy for Smash would be FANTASTIC. The various Divine Instruments would make good basic attacks, her specials could be some of the Brush techniques she acquired and as for her Final Smash, well, there's always Shiranui to turn into.

All of you should stop playing this piece of trash. And read Chinese books. Japanese legend are nothing but Chinese rip-off. Poor a nation that don't have a culture and have to steal it.
it is based off the actual myth of yamata no orochoi, or as you know him, orochi, he was tricked by Susanoo, who in the myth, is sister to Amaterasu and banished from the heavens for tricking her, to drink 8 vats of rice wine. due to his greedy nature, orochi drank as much as he could, until he fell over, drunk. then Susanoo took his sword and cut off orochi's heads.
I love the Yami battle because it shows that in many ways Yami is the direct opposite of Ammy. Amaterasu represents the life bringing sun, nature used for beauty and nourishment, and quick, activity to reach a goal one step at a time. Yami on the other hand represents the lifeless moon (because he made it that way!), technology used for destruction and ruin, and careful, slow manipulation to achieve a grand goal all at once. About the only similarity the two have is that they don't talk.
Duy Hoàng Hà No, this game is better than Chinese games. Chinese games copy really great games, like I’ve seen a horrible copy of Splatoon made in China. Just stop dude.
I don't think Okami was meant to be challening, I think it was meant to show a game doesn't have to be challenging to be fun! Okami is the very meaning of Fun, I've been playing it none stop for 5 years and I love it more every time!
Its got some tricky boss fights. Yami, Blight, and Nine Tails for example. The dungeons were pretty easy though. I wish Capcom would bring back clover to make more adventures
Well actually I wasn't surprised when the game continued after defeating Ninetails for two reasons. 1. Ninetails mentioned that he served Yami who was the game's true villain. 2. It was said that 4 evil spirits flew from Orochi's corpse and when you beat Ninetails that was only 2.
Orochi is fought two more times in Okamiden, but both those times you're only helping Susano/Nagi with the finisher. Still pretty good 'fights', and they keep this exact music track for both of them.
Hmm, I see. What I loved about this game is precisely that, that it continued and continued and continued but then came to a big halt at the Ark of Yamato I had no idea I would be facing the final boss there at least not that "right away" after defeating the four bosses again I thought I was going to the Celestial Plain or something xD Bah anyways Great Game I got my money's worth and more
Damn. Finally picked up the game on Steam after all these years since I watched the Chugga LP and recently got to this boss. HOLY SHIT THAT FIGHT WAS ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE AND THIS BOSS MUSIC IS PART OF IT
I haven't yet completed the game (yes I've been playing for the first time), and I think this is the best part of the soundtrack. Orchestral while keeping the Japanese strings and chords.
Actually, If I remember right, Akuro said he came into being due to Yami splitting into 5 new demons after dying. Akuro was the most powerful, and sought to absorb the essences of the other 4 to recollect Yami's power into one.
Although Orochi was a good antagonist, he was also a pretty standard one. Ninetails on the other hand was very cunning in how he/she took the form of Rao and mainpulated Amaterasu. I believe Ninetails is the best villain.
Fun fact : Orochi is based off of Japanese Mythology. A creature called Yamata no Orochi to be exact. Yamata no Orochi is an 8-headed and 8-tailed Japanese dragon, and was slain by Amaterasu's brother, Susanoo, who was banished to earth after trying to trick Amaterasu.
Yeah, this game is full of references to folklore and the like; Mr Bamboo reminiscing over a certain Kaguya, Issun's, well, everything, and loads of others.
@FeliciaFan444 I see. I haven't played Okamiden in a while, so my facts are a little fuzzy. Man, I really want to play Okami, but my sister keeps hogging it!
Anyways, the only big "omg the game is not over yet?" impression was at Orochi Ninetails was a minor impression it's just that I had no idea you were going to Kamui since the world map was getting shorter on unexplored areas (and even at the end of the game there are two supposedly unexplored areas to the left, what could those be? probably nothing but still why are they there?) *at point number 2* Only 2? Crimson Helm, Blight and Ninetails, they're 3, but you're right on your point anyways
I replay okami again today, and I just notice the Thunder Head of Orochi always acting clueless, because he is the tail and that remind me alot of the third head San (Kevin) of Ghiroda from new Godzillar theme.
@Azsalyn I already know that, XD. I just thought I'd point out its one of the only games where alcohol actually saves your butt. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
@MegamanBeta At one point,Akuro or someone else says Akuro used both Orochi AND Yami as vessels for himself. So,since he used both of them,in a way they're the same being from that logic.
@GigaHands Its kinda funny that the fight's difficulties were proportionally reversed to the hype they got, I mean Orochi practically just sits there, Ninetails could be mauled nonstop with brush techs and Yami has a shitload of HP bars. Don't get me wrong its one of the best games there is, but its easy, which perpetuates even more the win of this game as I tend to hate easy games, yet this is one of my favorites.
Actually there's more, those are just the dungeon bosses. In order: Waka The Spider Queen Waka again the 4 Canine Warriors (individually), Crimson Helm Orochi Blight the Tube Foxes SPOILER Rao END SPOILER Ninetails Orochi again just one of the Twin Demons both Twin Demons then Spider Queen, Crimson Helm, Ninetails, Blight and Orochi in any order then Yami.
I love this theme of Orochi better thn the other one. Also, my list from least fav to most: Lightning ~b/c he's the stupid one, so it's makes him epic~, Flame, Gailstorm, Sunrise, Poison 2, Earthquake, Poison 1, and then Waterspout ~he's annoying~
Oh that's right. Point is I thought for a moment Ninetails was the main villain because of how they referred to him and Oni Island and stuff, but it wasn't. I'm not arguing anything, just stating what my point of view was when I first played the game.
too bad the soundtrack costs $114. :( I've beaten Orochi a total of 30 times, since I've played the game 10 times in all and you battle Orochi 3 times in the game. That's actually really surprising to me O_O
Now tell me, who can beat having to get a boss drunk to beat it? I dont think any other games out there are creative enough to beat the almight power in an eight headed drunki snake demon lol!
my thiughts were exacly the same. man i was so pissed whe i saw yami i mean it IS the ruler of darkness and i was so excited seeing what kind of monster it is and then......a fish i a ball .....
@MegamanBeta Akuro from Okamiden was abetter end boss (And this coming froma guy who thought Okami as a whole had better mechanics, Okamiden Had a better story despite this.)
@Redhairstyle & @DrMcMario stop the fighting it annoys me....Though it is fun to listen to this epicness while reading the argument ;P (yeah I read comments call me weird)
Yeah, but it's just kinda spat out at you at the end. "Oh there's this last guy, he's called Yami. He's sorta responsible for everything all those other guys did." No build up for him, and it's hard for me to pin the death of Queen Himiko on Yami because there's so much more build-up for Ninetales, for example.
I didn't feel that Yami came out of nowhere... Ninetails explicitly mentions Yami when confronted on Oni Island, you learn about him long before the Ark of Yamato. "Yami is the absolute ruler of all evil beings. He is the ultimate symbol of darkness. And he is nothing like those false gods of your fairytales!"
Orochi, Yami and Lechku and Nechku are my favorite bosses. Waka, the Spider Queen and Evil Rao are my favorite mini-bosses. Crimson Helm disappointing me (tho I like his design); the mini-boss inside of the Emperor's body was meh, and Ninetails is ok. Not too bad, not too good. Also the Canine Warriors were meh to me, I preferred when they asked for food xD
@@DarkenMidnacrystal Yes, replaying the game I realized how little attention I payed at Ninetails' battle. It's actually a really cool fight and the fact that he tried to pose as a God making us complete a constellation to make him appear was genius. But True Orochi is still my favorite. That fight made me eager to keep playing and completely struck with me.
orochi was still the best antagonist in the game. he was truly frightening; yami just came out of the blue and it was kinda revealed after the fact that everything had been his doing, which kinda lessened the impact.
thats true but........it´s still a fish in a ball, but if i think about it i can somehow understand i hate fish so to me that IS pretty evil and the thought of that being and endboss too is a pretty evil idea
This is without a doubt one of the greatest boss battles I've experienced in videogaming. I've even recorded the battle and it's on my channel. Look in my Favourite Videogame Bosses playlist.
