I love a good surf & turf dish and as the mussels season is starting here in The Netherlands, I wanted to make an amazing pasta with mussels and chorizo sausage. Great Dutch "Zeker Zeeuws" mussels from the Oosterschelde and aromatic chorizo from the land combined on a plate! Enjoy.

Superb, could eat chorizo till it came out of my ears fabulous ingredient, combined with mussels and pasta, bottle or two of wine, crusty bread and good company what more do you need. Thank You Bart.

Quick, simple and easy... Thanks Bart... I often make a similar pasta with bacon and clams or mussels but will definitely try it with chorizo the next time. :)

Bart, where I am from, there are seldom, fresh mussels for purchase. How do you cook the ones that are frozen?

I cook differently, I dont like plain pasta mussels so I ad more flavor and sweet tight. I wait until my pasta al dente absorb all that flavor broth in the pan at a medium heat tend to get softer and no see moving liquid in the bottom, it become almost a afredo. I dont like adding tomato or marina sauce in the mussel, it destroy the taste of the sea water and flavor broth. I let my sea mussel broth stay alive, the sauce I add in don't destroy the taste of the seawater flavor. Whenever i see anyone adding tomato sauce or spaghetti it piss me off. all your tasting is butter spaghetti sauce not the ocean.
