Mutton Tikka Handi
Ingredients for Mutton Tikka Preparation:
Yogurt 1 cup
Mutton boneless 800 g
Lemon juice 2 tbsp
Oil 2 tbsp
Shan Tikka Masala 5 tbsp
Oil (for cooking) 1/2 cup
Water 2 cups
Coal (for smoke) 1 piece
Ingredients for Tikka Mutton Handi:
Oil 1/2 cup
Onion (chopped) 1 cup
Tomatoes (chopped) 2 cups
Ginger garlic paste 2 tbsp
Marinated mutton
Red chili powder 1 ½ tbsp
Turmeric powder 1 tsp
Red chili flakes 1 tbsp
Coriander seeds powder 1 tbsp
Cumin seeds powder 1 tsp
Salt 1 tsp / to taste
Black pepper powder 1 tsp
Prepared gravy
Yogurt 1 cup
Cream 1 cup
Ginger (julienne) for garnishing
Green chilies (chopped) for garnishing
Green coriander (Chopped) for garnishing
Directions for Mutton Marination:
1. In a bowl add yogurt, lemon juice, Shan Tikka Masala, oil, mutton and mix well. Marinate for 10-15 minutes.
2. In pot heat oil and add the marinated mutton and cook until mutton changes color.
3. Add water and cover and cook for 45 minutes or until meat gets tender.
4. Give it coal smoke for a minute. Set aside. Reserve the prepared gravy for later use.
Directions for Tikka Mutton Handi:
5. In a pot heat oil and add onion, cook until translucent. Add ginger garlic paste and cook for a minute.
6. Add tomatoes and cook for 2-3 minutes. Now add red chili powder, turmeric powder, red chili flakes, coriander powder, cumin powder, salt, black pepper and cook for 2-3 minutes.
7. Add the prepared gravy and mix well.
8. Add yogurt and cook for 5-10 minutes. Cover and cook for 3-4 minutes.
9. Now add prepared mutton tikka and mix well. Add cream and cook for 2-3 minutes.
10. Your Tikka Mutton Handi is ready. Garnish with ginger, coriander, green chilies and serve.
