Re coffee, can you use organic whipping cream and get the same benefit? I’d do whatever is most optimal but just curious. I use very little as it is. Not a huge fan of black coffee but we do things that are difficult or challenging for their benefits! This one isn’t a huge hardship however, fasting for 72 hours was a bit trying but it gets easier the more we do it.
@@mardeseo i have organic mold free coffee and i drink mine black anyway so this was a real bonus for me. i'm thinking doing 36 hours once a week. 48 once a month. it'll be a bit before i do 72 hours again. haha

I completed my first 36 hour fast (I actually went 38 hours). I had spent the previous 2 weeks listening and studying about intermittent fasting. I had fasted between 14-20 hours up to this point. In the first 2 weeks I lost 5 lbs. Anyway I did not feel like the 36 hour fast was a struggle. I did have 2 propel waters and a cup of hot green tea as well at 100+ oz of water a day. Hi Dr Mindy, I have been IF for 4 years. I was overweight, I had pain in my joints. I have always exercised but obviously not doing the right things so, fast forward. I started cold water and fasting and guess what … I have completely changed my body, my arthritis has nearly gone and I am back to size 10. At the same time I started making L. Thank you so much for this information! Over the last 2 years I have incorporated all these things. I'm 58 and post-menopausal. When I retired, I focused on getting healthy. I lost 30 lbs by IF 16:8 and moving more... at least 8k steps 5 days/week but the belly fat is still not going away. I've been doing more ketovore lately but nothing seems to bust the belly 😅fat

Agree coffee needs to be organic and chemical free. We're lucky in the UK, many available - also we got chemical free unbleached filters. I love my filter coffee and see no reason to give it up . Thank you for everything you do ❤

I dissagree, coffee gives me terrible gastritis, I done an elimination diet (carnivore) and kept in the coffee, suffered for 12 months, soon as I ditched the coffee it healed 🎉

However, I’m always conscious of confirmation bias and I try to balance points of views. I have just watched a video from another doctor who says that more than 90% of overweight people are metabolically inflexible, meaning they will not be able to switch from burning sugar to burning fat. I use a coffee maker (Mr Coffee type) with a stainless steel filter (plastic on the bottom). Is that ok or would french press be better? I use mold free organic coffee (Purity).

I recently saw a rheumatologist for widespread joint pain and fatigue. He said I may have a thing called pseudo gout and prescribed a drug called colchicine. After reading about this drug I am scared to try it. Do you have an opinion about Colchicine? I’m going to try this instead.

I've been on steroids for a while now, started IF last Yr, 16/8 with the odd 24 hrs fast, I eat whole foods, no processed or sugar, movement can be restricted due to rheumatoid arthritis, I can't shift an ounce, I get so depressed with the situation and hate the way I look

PLEASE...I'm in need of some help! I had a partial hysterectomy last August. I've been intermittent fasting on and off. Trying to get all my protein in. And lifting weights for the past 5 months. I'm blessed because I've lost 32 lbs. But because I have no cycle to track my hormones I hesitate to do another long fast. I just did a 60 hr fast and ended up catching a cold. Was this because my timing was off? I want to incorporate longer fasting in, but now I'm nervous when I should. Is there a video that goes into this? Because technically I'm perimenopausal, but with no cycle....

What are the alternatives to coffee? I can’t drink it (decaf) unless I put sugar and chocolate in it. And is the caffeine necessary? Caffeine makes my heart flutter 😩
