Luv yours and Tubbas videos. Watched them all to save me having to do the CWT myself. Your fitness does you credit. I am guessing that if you had shaken out the backpack at the end of your kit rundown , the 200 Marlboroughs would have dropped out !
Heck of an achievement nearly 600 miles. CWT looks brutal even in the 'good' scottish weather 😅 it was much easier just watching someone else hike it rather than me 😂. I live 10 miles from the start of the West Highland way and would struggle with my mind just to do that ! Looking forward to your next hike on the AT and Hi to Bobo I feel like I know him now 😉👍
You are soooo lucky to live there and can hike WHW at any time!! Bobo would have been so happy hiking it! I wish I could bring him to the UK. He will get in trouble with the cows and sheep though lol

@@hikersheep I will suscribed if you at least buy Ben (ram) some proper walking boots so he doesn't have to wear ziplock bags on his feet 😂. You should also consider some you can get lightweight waterproof pair and they also give you ankle support and also consider water proof socks 👌😉

Hi, I have started watching you since you did the Cape Wrath Trail, it’s interesting listening to an Americans view of the trails, I agree with one comment I read and they said the best piece of equipment you had was your mind set. Watching your equipment load out I was surprised you carried a knife so big in UK it’s illegal to carry a knife bigger than 3 inches, also you can buy travel sized items like deodorant in UK. I hope to watch many more of your videos I currently part way through the coast to coast journey. I’m enjoying it so far Paul.
Hi Paul...thank you for watching my videos. Im so happy. I wasn't aware about the knife law in the UK. I always brought it the past 3 times i went to the UK. I hiked with Jake's Journey Mate (another youtuber) on the West Highland Way befote Cape Wrath and he was surprised when he saw I had a knife. 😬 Yes, I know there are snaller travel size supplies, but not always easy to find when I needed to resupply...usually small villages. I just bought the smallest size they have
@@hikersheep The knife size is when you carry it in public areas, Bush crafting people quite often have bigger knives but keep hidden until they get to camp then use them. Good luck in next walk which I think you said part of the PCT.

Aw thsnk you for watching!! I love my Cape Wrath Trail adventure. I am going back next year to do it again. My experience prior is 2200 miles on the Appalachian Trail, some Colorado Trail, West Highland Way right before CWT, South Downs Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast 2 times ..and i did it again for the 3rd time right after CWT. 223 miles Ouachita Trail in Arkansas. Ive only been backpacking for 2 years. I hope you enjoy my videos and can learn a few things to prepare you for your hike. :)
@@hikersheep I've never done a thru hike, just long distance hikes over multiple peaks in one day. 15-18 miles. Then I go home. I hike often tho and camp out. Just never did a thru hike. I want to start, do you think CWT would be OK? I am 47 but in good health and shape. My country is similar to Scotland, in fact, I grew up in Bo'ness (Scotland), I live in Northern Ireland and used to that type of terrain (I go almost every weekend).
Oh you live much closer to it than I do. Just do it! I am 47 as well. Let me tell you, hiking many many miles day after day can be tough if you are not used to it. Just take it easy starting with lower miles in tge beginning. You are probably used to the terrain ...i was shocked at first!! It was tough mentally being so remote, and challenging navigationally for me. I got my physical fitness and strong feet and legs to my advantage though cause I hike long-distance a lot and I can hike with wet feet everyday with no blisters. Just do it....make sure your pack is as light as possible.

That strap mounted knife could get you into trouble with the police in the UK. Onus on you to prove you have reasonable excuse. The only legal knife is non locking and less than 3 inches.
I know now. Jake's Journey Mate whom I hiked with on WHW told me cause he saw my knife. I won't bring it again. Never used it except to open a resupply parcel once. :) I'll be back in Scotland in 15 days to do the SNT and the Cleveland Way for 2 months.
