"blood" is like that because it wasn't listed on the cd tracklist and was a surprise for anyone who left the cd player running. i must have had that disk for 2 years and never heard a thing about it before it jumpscared me out of my bed 😂
Please also react to Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. I prefer it to be honest more often than TBP. Sleep is an absolute banger tho. Good video as per usual
Also Bullets, gotta be my favorite MCR album, I love how raw they were and really wish they stuck with that sound, but if they did we wouldn't have all their other legendary albums :/
The End. 1:05 Dead! 2:53 This is How I Disappear 5:05 The Sharpest Lives 7:36 Welcome to the Black Parade 10:05 I Don't Love You 13:13 House of Wolves 15:40 Cancer 17:46 Mama 19:45 Sleep 22:29 Teenagers 24:52 Disenchanted 26:14 Famous Last Words 28:52 Blood 32:15
@MatiasPerez-br5nr fair...Lifted is a pretty easy listen too,though...Bowl of Oranges, Let's Not S%$t Ourselves, Lover I Don't Have to Love...quite a few accessible bops, but not as polished as Wide Awake, for sure.
Hell Yeah!!! So glad you enjoyed this album, it's my favorite of all time! You should definitely check out MCR's other album Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. It's less concept heavy but has similar energy. Fun fact about Sleep: the band was staying at the Paramour Estate (known for being haunted) while writing the album and Gerard (lead singer) experienced night terrors. The tape that keeps running back is him and his real experience.
This album came out when I was 16, I listened to it HEAVILY back then and it's one of the only albums I listen to from that time in my life that I still legitimately like for its musical quality instead of just being from that time in my life, for the nostalgia. In fact, it's even better now than back then. I'm now old enough to actually relate to some of the themes of this album, and it just HITS hard.
HEYYY i requested this a while back and i'm glad you finally got around to it and loved it! it's my favorite album of all time, but even so, that shouldn't detract you from their other work, the record that came before this "Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge" is almost as good and many would argue it's better!
also in sleep the tape is a recording of the lead singer gerard way talking about his sleep paralysis he would have in the haunted house they stayd in to record this album
also reply 3 but back before streaming bands would put little secret tracks on the end of songs so on a cd or vinyl it would jumpscare you and also give u a little surprise
Wildlife by La Dispute is one from the emo genre that I think leaves quite an impression. I am not all that familiar with the emo genre besides mcr, some of the older pop emo bands like fallout boy or panic which are really just pop and some midwest emo stuff so I am not the best person for recommendations but king park is just such a striking track and overall the album has pretty good lyrical content and very pleasant instrumentation.
hell yea, so glad you listened to this! one of my all time favorites. if you enjoyed this, you should check out Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. it’s also a concept album and similar sounds but also pretty different from this album. it’s my personal favorite MCR album.
Great video man! You've become one of my favorite music reaction channels in the past few months. I would love to see a rection to "Frances the Mute" by The Mars Volta. It's a pretty long prog-rock album with a lot of spanish and latin influences. I personally think it's a 10/10 album.
The Proper Dose by The Story So Far is one of my favorite albums of all time and something I think you would definitely enjoy. Great video as always ❤️
Absolute classic and amazing album! Loving the content king keep it up. Please do Worry By Jeff Rosenstock. The best project from one of the best songwriters of this century.
LOVE YOUR VIDEOS MY GUY a few recommendations: Process - Sampha (experimental r&b, great production) Nurture - Porter Robinson (light summer electric with fun production) Koi No Yokan - Deftones (very heavy, sexier and heavier radiohead imo) Hypochondriac - Brakence (very experimental emo rap, glitch pop) Reading Writing And Arithmetic - The Sundays (the smiths ish, with beautiful female vocals)
Recommendation: Friko - Where we've been, Where we go from here A very recent debut release from an upcoming indie rock band. The debut is extremely high-achieving and has so many layers and emotional depth to it. It's my personal album of the year so far!!
Please reactto their previous album Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. It's got a very different sound. The Black Parade and Three Cheers are considered the two best MCR albums.
Daddy Smags if you review Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness I will literally offer my new born son as he (as awesome as he is) does not compare to the serotonin hit I will receive to the notification of a reaction to the album. ( In all seriousness it’s truly one of the greatest double albums of all time truly no filler. It’s a true milestone in alt rock. The greatest guitar tones ever made imo. So many truly stunning songs no matter how loud and hardcore or soft and spacey they are. Such an influential masterpiece and the golden standard of how to make a double album of any kind. )
Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge isn't as tight and focused as this album, but it's got the bangingest bangers, to the point where it's a better album despite not being a better "album". Their first album was chaotic and messy, with some real diamonds in the rough. Their second album, TCFSR, reigned in that energy to create the kind of memorable hooks you get on this album. This album took everything and concentrated it further, making a great cohesive album that had broad appeal and brought a lot of people on board to their sound; in the transition, though, some of that raw energy was lost in translation. They continued the quest for the perfect album on their fourth outing, Danger Days, but went a bit too hard on the polish, even if they were still conceptually rich and remained just as great of a band. Tl;dr you get the best of both worlds on their second outing, and the result is some absolute slappers that slap ass. Also, Ys when? 😩
I think it would be really cool if you also reviewed Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge (also by mcr). And also (maybe) my fav album The Rot That Grows Inside My Chest (by teenage joans)
To me it’s the best rock album of all time from start to finish. Tells a great story. It’s creative, makes you think, eel sad, celebrate life and death. Perfection.
i recommend you should react to 21st century breakdown from green day or insomniac. anyways good reaction. I will always love the transition from then to Dead!
This album is so great, MCR is timeless! You should also do three cheers by them it's on par with this one imo! Unrelated, I know you were kinda lukewarm on dots and loops by stereolab but you might like their albums before it. I would loooooove to see you react to emperor tomato ketchup or transient noise bursts by them
The Black Parade is so good, and I recommend you listen to House of Sugar by Alex G. Its one of his best works and I've seen that you listened to Trick and Race but I feel like House of Sugar is up there with trick (It also has similarities to Kid A)
Hey man, really been enjoying your reviews and reactions lately! I really dig how youre getting into the huge world of emo music. If you're up for discovering something truly unique and influential in the genre, I highly recommend checking out the band "The Brave Little Abacus" and their exceptional album "Just Got Back From the Discomfort-We're Alright." This record holds a special place in the evolution of emo, significantly contributing to the revival of the genre and its subsequent transfiguration into what we now recognize as the 5th wave of emo, birthing acts like Parannoul, Asian Glow, Weatherday or Your Arms Are My Cocoon.
omg... my favs were the self titled and I dont love you. Listen to some slacker rock pls!! - exile in guyville by liz phair // bee thousand by guided by voices // crooked rain crooked rain by pavement oops!!
HOLY SHIT YESSS. Please please do Juturna by Circa survive dude, it’s such an 2000s emo classic + it’s extremely beuatiful. Honestly, you should do the album that came before Black Parade (Three Cheers) because it’s also a total classic and just as good, maybe even better
I would really love it if you reacted to The Raven That Refused to Sing by Steven Wilson. Me and my father share a love for this album, I think you would really like it. Please review when you get a chance.
love the vids smags , here’s some recommendations that would be cool to see :) led zeppelin ii - led zeppelin foo fighters - self titled brotherhood - new order dirt - alice in chains melon collie and the infinite sadness - the smashing pumpkins! also some pink floyd ;) , wish you were here is a good one if you haven’t listened keep killing it as always! 😊
I see this guy recommending Im Wide Awake Its Morning Heres some other recs: The Postal Service- Give Up. Hood classic, singer of Death Cab for Cutie, very simple lyrics but somehow super effective, electro pop Mothership by Dance Gavin Dance- way on rhe other end of the spectrum. High vocals, screaming, insane guitars, yet somehow still sounds poppy. Post Hardcore Youll Be Fine- Hot Mulligan, post emo, very good lyricism, cynical but somehow still uplifting Idk these are just bangers man
Holy shit.. that was actually really good. I totally blew this album off in my youth because it wasn't considered "cool" to listen to MCR in the UK at least. Just goes to show that you should listen to what you want and enjoy what you like. Not what other people tell you to like. Now listen to Everything Everything.. ir you're not cool 😂
That’s funny actually, I was barely out the womb when this album came out but even tho I got a bit of teasing in high school for being “emo” or whatever it’s always seemed to me that there’s a huge cult following of MCR, in north England at least. My city mall even has an alternative clothing store. Anyways, WELCOME!, I’m glad you came around to the album finally :)) The band have had a sort of renaissance in the eyes of critics and the general public recent years and never really lost cultural relevance, so you’re not alone in being new!
