First time watching your show. Now I understand the hype. You talk education not commercial. Thank God for a person like you 🙏. Keep teaching those of us that love to learn.
I really am loving this larger whoop world we are heading into. Been flying the Pavo Pico for a few weeks and overall I’m really loving this style and size of quad.
Congratulations Rotor Riot for trying and ending up with a whoop that has an AIO from last year, smaller motors than a Meteor75pro WS, the same formula and frame as the happymodel moblite7 WS and still manages to be the heaviest of the bunch - and trying to sell it for 40$ more ;)
@@jsnlmb42 pretty impressed so far with their backpack. And, while I would agree that they have taken the ideas of other folks, they have done a good job of putting it toether with quality materials. It looks better than many of the competing back packs too.
Great specs, most terrible Rotor Riot build experience to date! Motors out of stock for month+, poor soldering w/ motor wires popping off repeatedly, VTX soldered to FC instead of power leads caused loss of signal at 3.6v AND they deleted my review and photos of shoddy workmanship. I wish they would have done better, really bummed about this whole experience.
The flywoo explorer LR video when they first came was the happiest I've ever heard him when flying maybe not the most excited, but happiest. It's almost my favorite drone also, 10 minutes of surfy cruising. Like a longboard, not catching air, no 360s but long flowy lines and rides for ever
I have the meteor 75, its basically my first quad, boy that thing has taken a beating, and it just keeps on flying. Bash it into walls, solid posts and concrete all the time. I really like the way it flies, but, it basically my first quad, so I dont have much to compare it to. I have just bought the mobula 8, batteries are charging for its first flight
Really interesting quad indeed, Joshua! Fantastic flying and review! 😃 Looks like we've found the perfect place for 1002 motors! Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Cannot help but think the Vision 40 is the love child of Happymodel's Mobula7, and Flywoo Firefly 1S FR16 Nano Baby. The canoy is definitely very similar to the one sold by Flywoo
Shouldn't your disclosure at the beginning include details about your relationship with rotor riot? I'm glad to see you address it at 21:45, but in a seemingly dismissive way. Plus, leaving it until the end kinda betrays the point of having a disclosure segment at the beginning. I don't think there's any malicious intent or anything, I enjoy your stuff and am just offering an idea for improvement.
Here we go again, using a suspect Happymodel frame where the USB is partially blocked by the weak battery cage crossbar. Mk 4 and HM STILL can't clear that really basic hurdle . There's really good reason why many prefer the BetaFPV Meteor frame, and that shortcoming is one of them (generally I would not touch other BetaFPV product, no fanboy here!) Also the motor to prop relationship is kV affected, but I don't think you mentioned kV? They are 22000kV. By comparison, the Happymodel Moblite7, around for some time now, is 1002 as well, but 20000kV. BTW, I'm running my Moblite7 with 4 blade Tiny/LDARC 7 props!
The first 5" I had in 2016/17 was half that price... Yeah it might fly great but the prices are getting out of hand. Its almost impossible for new people to get into the hobby when you have to spend like 1.000 bucks just to get into flying. Not a big fan of the resent developments
Wait is this a 75mm whoop? I thought they were "not good for indoors and not good for outdoors either"? Just giving you a hard time, A lot of us have liked the 75mm format the best for acro and park flying (not racing). Glad you are liking it but, now you need to try and ultra light 22g 75mm that is 32g all up, lots of fun!
I really wish that there was at least a single battery of indoor flight in this video. It's September in a couple of days, and we're all trying to figure out what to buy next, since... you know... Winter Is Coming.
85 flys so awesome! 85 is my choice! This 75 is very good with 1002. By the way, the 75 betafpv you had is the pro, which has larger props and motor span. Sorry not slaming, I'm debating. Respect!
Dude nice little rig you got there👌 I've got an older e-max tiny hawk modified to 3" soon getting prop guards and running jet fan props and lithium cell battery pack for longer flight times perhaps?
You are forgetting about yard or park. Anything outside that is still kinda tight space and might have people around. I love in building. I just get outside, sit on a bench and fly around trees, benches, bushes. This is very 75mm shines.
It's a typical build nowadays for digital 75mm, nothing special. But it might be a good choice as a bnf. For more experienced pilots is better to make custom build. There are plenty interesting frames on a market, like Ack75, F75 (or Pro Max), even Meteor75 (Pro). 1002 is a good decision for a heavy 75mm. But it's not good for doing tricks indoors. For igow I prefer lightweight under 20g 65mm frame with 35mm props
Walksnail has a great picture even at 720p 100hz, but using their Avatar goggles I feel like there is some kind of disconnect that I dont feel on 720p 120hz DJI. Its doesnt studder when I rotate but there is something I cant quite put my finger on that ruins the experience. I still have only tried their 1s and 1s lite VTX/cam so I am hoping the larger V2 with low light camera might redeem the system. For now its HDZero or analog. Indoors I find analog works fine, this is coming from someone with lightest (that I know of) 65mm HDZero. HD becomes usable for continuous freestyle around 75-85mm 1s.
Obviously you haven't flown a 65mm with 0702 30,000kv motors. I really recommend you try that out. But ya this vision 40 does look like it's flying really well.
@@omu_fpv Look at his other videos homie, he has done a lot of tiny whooping. I really liked the tiny whoop race video, gives me an idea of what they are like. Looks fun!
Great just rub it in. I’ve been wanting to buy that so bad but it’s out of stock. I need everything, googles , remote and the whoop. Come on rotor riot and get it back in stock!
7:35 I have the meteor 75(2021 version) since 2022 and still flys today. The frame is great, I crashed that thing so many times that in some moments, I thought the frame broke but, it still good and strong. Been from betafpv, I give at least credit for that.
Can you review a 'PID Tuned' Meteor75 Pro... I am curious what your thoughts are on it since you have alot of tinywhoops and quads.. I have a Meteor75pro tuned up and it flies like a little devil but always wondered what other tiny whoops and 1s fly like since I only know the 75pro and nothing else
I am pretty new to FPV and am just flying analog to save money so far. For digital I keep going back and forth between getting DJI goggles or Walksnail/Fatshark. Between the 1s transmitter and the HD pro with excellent low light capabilities I'm starting to lean toward the Walksnail system, I just wish it was available on more bind and fly quads.
I settled on my first quad being a skylite from rotor riot with avatar vtx and a fat shark hd dominator goggle set. Great little starter quad but the thing i am getting annoyed with is if i do want a new frame that is a bind and fly most are going to be with the dji O3 system. I will say I have settled on eventually having to purchase a dji goggle and O3 set myself but I’m a hobbyist. I love to tinker so i will play around with swapping video transmission systems in the future so i can lower my cost and just purchase new frames and build them myself. My opinion just go with one, if you want to go with walksnail/fat shark make sure to get better antennas, but you will get better clarity out of the box with DJI just plan and simple. You will also eventually get new antennas if you get a Goggles V2 which is still a great goggle set.
If you're looking to explore, do cinematic, and get high quality footage on a medium sized drone, dji is the way to go. If you want okay footage but the ability to put it on any drone, including 1s, avatar. If you care less about footage quality or will be using a gopro and just want to go fast or have a very smooth and quick video transmission system, hdzero is the way.
in your video, the vision 40 looks awesome. i bought a vision 40 and haven't had good luck with it. about every third time i try to use it, i have to bind it to the controller again. it takes forever for the video signal to come on, and i can only fly it into the next room before getting land now warning. if i land and want to take off again, the video is black for about 15 seconds. is there something I'm missing as far as settings?
What about this one and mobula8? I would like to have a tiny whoop, but now I am thinking on this video. A question: Mobula8 HD O3 will bind with my dji controller 2? Thanks bro, big fan!
I believe the meteor 65 is the beta frame that is so good. The meteor 75 is good too, but only really fits beta batteries and that's a problem. The mob7 v4 beats it pretty much on that alone. The mob7 v4 is also pretty tough.
hey, any chance to get a bf dump or the pids settings of this one ? I'd be curious to see how much better tuned it is than any other off the shelf whoop. Thanks
Just received my Firefly Nano Baby 1S, only flown it indoors with the prop guards, which I was never planning to do, I have a BF Meteor75Pro for indoors. But the Firefly flies so much better than the Meteor, even with the big prop guards on, it is so smooth, the tune is so good, I would much rather fly it indoors with the prop guards than the Meteor.
I really wish Walksnail would make the 1s vtx’s compatible with the DJI Google’s, Drew was quiet vocal at launch of the Fatshark system that it could/may be possible, yes I know that is supporting a rivals product but it’s really not, you see I already have the DJI Google’s, I will NOT be buying a second set of £500 to save maybe 10 grams on a build, I’ll just buy the Mobula8 and put in a naked vista kit in it for this winter or go back to analogue, so making the 1s walksnail vtx “compatible” with the DJI system would open up Walksnail to a market who simply won’t buy their product otherwise since they’re already digital.
DJI has enough money and tech to R&D a 1s VTX solution, it's just not the market they are interested in. That is how Walksnail slips in behind you and fills those gaps. DJI does not want to fill your gap, my guy :)
Yes Joshua you are on the right track. Ditch the propguard and it really flies like a 5" drone, trust me. 😎 Switch to a proper carbon frame and you have it. Yeah 1002 motors soldered on👌🏽
I think I'll get some 1002 Motors to breathe some life into the old Mobula6 HD that I put in a 75mm frame, it's just too underpowered to be fun so 1002s may be the answer.
Heya love the videos, have you considered covering any of FRSky's tandem series transmitters and recievers, its been a few years since they've been released and have had very little coverage online
Question: If I have one of the original Fat Shark Dominator Analog goggles (8 years old), can I add the Walksnail Avatar VRX / Kits - would that then allow me to use the drone above with the old analog goggles?
Is the battery toilet tanked like the mob7hd? I blew an esc on the superbee board. Minor crash but still a crash. But i think the 1002 motors may have been too much for the flying i eas trying to do for IGOW
Out of stock😞. I wonder how this would work in a Meteor75 pro frame with 45mm props? I'm running HappyModel 1102s on my analog(mobula7) setup using the pro frame and noticed a huge difference when I switched from the 0802s.
hey joshua, this thing looks rad and runs my classic orange and blue combo. i noticed its the same prop size and motor size as the flywoo fr16? which i own the hdzero version of. yet this whoop with a 450 is somehow way heavier even when talking about the walksnail fr16 running a 750mah
Anyone have any ideas on how to implement a remote control tank with full turret movement range at 360 degrees without the turret being limited to the rear? Headless mode system may work?
Josh, You are the entry point for FPV for so many people, I implore you to review current performance whoop offerings, I understand you have a commercial relationship with rotor riot, honestly this is not a good buy for a person looking for a performance ws whoop. Look at what any of the top 50 pilots are flying in the IGOW competition. There is not a great deal of variety there, it's pretty cut and dry what the best performance freestyle tiny whoop is today. This is not it. It is a shame you are misleading folk, although, perhaps not maliciously. Please do a little homework and see what the best freestyle pilots on earth are currently flying.
I review lots of different gear not only "the best". And what's best for performance pilots winning IGOW is not necessarily best for a beginner just starting out. Which one do you think I should review?
Thankyou for replying Josh! Let's start be being clear - I'm very grateful for you Josh, you taught me FPV, please don't take my comments as inflammatory, rather constructive, I'd love beginners to be able to enjoy whoops as much as I do. It would be amazing to see you review the Fractal 75 BNF (fractal engineering). @@JoshuaBardwell
Hey Joshua so I crashed my green hornet and lost video and now it won’t connect to beta flight and when I have the video transmitter plugged in the green light on my flight controller goes off leaving just a white led and kills power to the receiver… would this be a problem with the success-e mini f7 FC or the video transmitter
i strongly disagree with the message in this video about tiny whoops.... 31mm at 28g is as capable as any 5" i own. My 2s 31mm is 32g auw and it can definitely pull out of dives.
@@JoshuaBardwell But after the voltage drops below 3.4 or 3.3 volts, the output power will decrease significantly. It might only be as low as 25mW. I observed this from the blurry image in the goggles. Have you not experienced such symptoms?
