I don't like the idea of a man deciding what his girlfriend should or should not wear. in any circumstance. maybe she's been convinced that she doesn't have a fashion sense, just because that fashion sense doesn't match the boyfriend's. During the initial conversation with the stylist she also says "Douglas would defintely want to see me in something that shows off my figure..." and the stylist goes: "Do YOU want that?" it's clear that she's conditioned to put her taste aside.

I can understand why you’d think that, but I respectfully disagree. I’m actually a woman who does not enjoy shopping or picking out my own clothes. I always ask my boyfriend to pick and genuinely enjoy him picking out stuff for me. It’s one less decision I have to make! I think every couple has their own dynamic, and as long as she’s truly not being controlled, it’s all good.
