She’s an AMAZING singer! She starts her talk show every day with a song. She calls it “Kellyoke.” She does a cover of someone else’s song every single day and that’s how she starts the show. She’s also a judge/coach on The Voice.

This song tells the story of Kelly's father leaving when she was young. She also wrote the song "Piece by Piece" after she was married about her father's impact. Sadly, after her fame he came around looking for money. Can you believe it. When the marriage failed she rewrote the ending of the second song. What a strong and caring lady. She hits all the notes musically and emotionally. She gets it.

Can I say truth? The first time I heard this, I had to pull over driving and weep. Why? It is all I could say about my mother, whom I had to bury when I was only 16 and she only 39. ...Before I could address the shit she put me through and allowed. Her baggage is still my baggage, bit I am a great mama of 2 boys aged 24 and 28...but UGH... The fear is still in residual effect. She allowed a monster in, after my true dad died from Vietnam, who destroyed us. 🙄

Great reaction bruh. Hopefully you have heard her sing live since hearing this because her voice is phenomenal. It's actually gotten much better over time too. It's matured into a powerhouse on the level of Mariah, Whitney, Jennifer Hudson, etc. Her range and control is amazing. She's one of the very best out there. And still she's such a down to earth unpretentious person. She's like real folk real talk.

Kelly can siiiing. People don’t give her voice near enough credit, even if you don’t like the actual songs! She got a voice unlike any other. She got famous for winning American Idol. She tried to work with multiple artist on her last album, before the voice, and they kept snubbing her! I don’t get it, because she does give you chills. Plus she can write her own music. I think she scares them off, to be honest! She’s too good.

You are so funny! So glad you gave her music a try because she is one phenomenal singer and human being. I hope you listen and react to more of her songs. She has a live version of It’s Quiet Uptown from Hamilton that is amazing. She also did a live version of Piece By Piece for the Finale of American Idol a few years back. She was pregnant back then and very emotional but that performance brings tears to my eyes every time.

This is the first mentioning of her relationship with her father, and how he walked out on her and her mother. The song "Piece by Piece' goes more into that relationship and how it left a hole in her heart, being an unwanted child. When she became a superstar, he then suddenly wanted to have a relationship with Kelly. But it was already too late then. Kelly refused to have anything to do with him.
