I was raised in a very abusive household. I then married an abusive man... I was in and out of shelters for domestic violence. I finally got out!!!! I am married to a wonderful man who truly loves me
Imagine she actually wrote this when she was still in high school! And, she had to fight to get this song recorded because her record company thought it was too much of a bummer. She is so very talented.
Well it wasn't so much that it was a bummer but that the exec in charge of her career told her she was a terrible songwriter, and that he and the company were the only reason that she sounded good.
@@myheadhurtsagain Just going by what she said. She said she wanted this on her first cd but Simon and others insisted that it wouldn’t be commercial because it was too depressing.
Thanks for the kind words James :) Good men make the good women because it's a cycle. Women that have a good dad will take care of their families in a loving way also. Credits to my dad! Love to him, and love to you!
I knew this song coming into this n told myself I wouldn’t cry n dammit I failed. It gets me every time. I’m really sorry to hear about your parents, I can’t even imagine. You’re a very strong man to get through that, nothing but respect and love❤️❤️
I'm happy you're back James, hang in there!! Kelly Clarkson wrote this song "Because of you" about her own father & since then she's written another song as well about him called "Piece by Piece". I'd love to see you react to it if possible. I'll think of something else next time to put a smile back on your face ☺️
Hey JBLETHAL I noticed that you were fascinated with the Rick James/Teena Marie duet Fire and Desire. Teena Marie a very gifted and talented musician/singer happens to be from Portugal. She sings just like a black lady as a matter of fact after being introduced on the music scene by Rick James, Teena Marie's first albums did not show her face because she thought people would not buy her albums based on her being white but wanted them to listen to it first. If you go on RU-vid and look up Lady Teena Marie serenades Smokey Robinson you will be pleased with that video. That video was I believe done right before her passing. Her daughter is shown in the video as well. She is gorgeous.
Miss, miss, missed you JB!!! Had not heard this song before either...deep is the word. We women should never be called the weaker sex. She does have a beautiful voice. Loved your reaction. Oh, in case you don't know...Adam Lambert and the members of Queen are opening the Oscar's/Academy Awards this coming Sunday night, if you wanted to catch it on TV. Peace
Kelly Clarksons strenght as a song writer and an artist is that she dares to dig deep into her rawest emotions when she write songs and then perform them. It is the same with her song Piece by piece. Please react to that one.
Ahhh James there you are i'v been worried about you. Hate to bring this up but you need to mention your go fund me site... People may not realise that you have it up and running💖 unless they are viewing a couple of your older posts. Xxx love from the UK.
My Dad did this too. Learning that all men don't leave is extremely hard. Her other song on American Idol, Piece by Piece is fantastic. It's about her dad leaving too. Great commentary. Your Gramma has good taste.
You seem like such a young great man. You should be proud of yourself in this crazy world! Keep up the good work and we have the power to achieve anything!
So glad you are back! I hope you are finding peace and strength. Wow, what a song! I had not heard this one. I have not followed Kelly like I should have.
So glad to see you James and I hope you're doing okay. I have been worried about you and was actually thinking about you a lot today so it's good to have you back!
So glad to see you back hun !! Been worried about you. Keep doing what you do. We all love how raw and open you are with us ! We love you. Consider that you have a second mother in Indiana!!
I just recently actually listened to the lyrics of this song and had a real emotional moment. Reminds me of my relationship with my mom throughout my life. Powerful
When I found out piece by piece was about parental abandonment and not just some dude she dated ... it felt like a knife thru the heart but I was also so grateful that there was someone to look to who had voiced it so perfectly.
Wow, now I know why you are very sensitive and very thoughtful and heartfelt, I think you've gone through a lot in your life as a child. Kelly Clarkson also writes her own songs and she was very hurt by a father she never knew. I think all of us as children get this meaning too well. God bless you
It's good to see you, JB. I don't have any special song to request. I appreciate every one of your reactions, probably because you're so open and so real. This song was heartbreaking. Welcome back. I was getting worried about you. Love.
To say that Kelly did not have a good relationship with her father is a huge understatement! I have three daughters and I can't imagine not having a close relationship with those girls! I also have 6 grand daughters and I love them tremendously as well! I also have 4 grandsons, and as I do love them as well, there is just something special about daughters. Loyalty I guess. You know the old saying; A daughter is a daughter for life. A son is a son until he takes a wife.
I love you man!! I spend hours watching your videos. I suffer from bipolar disorder and PTSD from childhood rape and torture. Just watching you and your reaction videos gets me through my worst days. Keep on going. You are amazing and brave.
I'm glad you picked up that this song is about her family, not just a recent breakup like most people tend to assume. Here's a great piece on what the song meant to Clarkson: theinspirationroom.com/daily/2006/kelly-clarkson-because-of-you/ . Also as many others have mentioned, her recent song Piece By Piece is a companion to this song, two parts of the same story told a decade apart. Same kind of deal as Cleaning Out My Closet and Headlights by Eminem, also a great back-to-back listening experience. Also, if the overall 'feel' of this song sounds familiar, you might recognize the co-producers, Ben Moody and David Hodges, formerly of Evanescence.
I personally and probably alot of people can associate with this song and video , ive ended up with ptsd and BPD because of this and my dad , thankfully my mum is an angel and taught me love , i still havent found peace of mind all because of such a horrendous beginning i ended up with a man just like my dad for 10 yrs , i got away and raised my children put them first , its hard , but i hide it all for my children and thankfully they have turned out good kids no thanks to the father
Hey there sweetie, love from Canadian girl, love your reactions, love love love them you are sweet and sincere I hope you look up the winner of Australia's voice who was mentored by Seal she is a very young 19 year old soul sounding awesome Charis Eden
James please watch Kelly's American Idol performance of Piece By Piece. It's a song that she wrote about being abandoned by her father at a very young age and how he attempted to contact her after she became famous. You will be moved by it. Glad, so happy you are back. Please pray for my daughter Ashley who has Sudden Death Syndrome and just found out that she is pregnant. It's very dangerous for her with her heart condition but it's been a lifelong dream to be a Mother and God has finally allowed her to be blessed with child. If you have a church family please add her to your prayer list. Thank you James, I enjoy your videos so much!
Welcome back! Always appreciate your reaction videos. Can I recommend Behind These Hazel Eyes by Kelly Clarkson, Torn by Natalie Imbruglia and Don't Be A Stranger by Dina Carroll. Think you'll like them Just thought of two more you may like- Who Knew by Pink and Walking on Broken Glass by Annie Lennox :)
hi good to see u again just wanted to remind u not to forget to listen to one of the best songs and one of the best performances out there Meat Loaf ★ Rock n' roll dreams come through ★ Storytellers Live 1999 enjoy it
My alcoholic, abusive father walked out on my family when my oldest brother was 8 years old. Upon leaving leaving his wife and 4 children he turned to my eldest brother and said "well, YOU'RE the man of the house NOW." What a rotten thing to put that on my brother at 8 years old. I look back at it now as a blessing he left but at the time it was very rough for my family.
The story is that because of Kelly’s parents always fighting and her dad being abusive, she grew up in a bad place. Then, when she married and had a child, her husband was like her dad. To protect her daughter from her experiences, she didn’t make the same mistakes as her mother, because she was afraid what would happen.
