My first time taking Xanax | Early signs of Addiction

I have so many stories to tell about my benzo addiction that I would like to share soon. Taking these pills affected every aspect of my life. I thought it was fun at first but slowly began to realize how my decisions were ruining my life. Unfortunately this wasn’t the end of my journey through addiction… it was just the beginning.

Thank you! I wouldn’t say I’m getting better, just learning how to adjust to this drastic change and relearning how to survive each day. It’s so hard but making these videos has helped distract me from overthinking all day.

You really have a talent for storytelling! Your voice is so relaxing and soothing as well! I have crippling anxiety so I can definitely relate to the Xanax helping with that. I am so happy you were able to get help. Congratulations on 4 years!!!! You’re amazing!! ✌🏼💛

Thank you for sharing this story with us, Leah 🤍 i can totally relate to falling in love wity Xanax, because i have anxiety/panic attacks. First time i tried it i felt normal, and just feeling normal was an amazing feeling. So glad you're off of those! Benzos really do effect the memory. It's kinda scary not being able to remember stuff, that always freaked me out. Anyhoo, thank you for the video! Hope to see more ☺️🤍

I’m so glad I was able to get off Xanax. I did get prescribed klonopin years later (which sounds really dumb being this was my drug of choice at one point in time) but only take them as needed. I’ve done this throughout my recovery and it’s the only thing that’s helped me get through my anxiety struggles.

Awesome video! ❤️Its nice getting to know you ... And its so true about early warning signs of addiction. Me and my hubby are both in recovery, and we have kids. When 1 parent is or was an addict, the child has a 40 percent chance of becoming an addict, two parents is 80 percent. So i see the signs in my children, and i want to get them help BEFORE they start using. Drs don't believe in it ( that you can see early warning signs in children, but you definitely can). Like one of my children is obsesdively obsessed with beanie boos, and i mean OBSESSED. She stole my moms credit card at 10 yrs old to buy 500$ worth of beanie boos, like its a true obsession. My other daughter is completely addicted to candy . Like will eat a huge 10$ bag of snickers and want more instantly, and will steal to get them. Theres definitely early warning signs, and i wish drs took it seriously so we could get our loved ones help BEFORE they jump to drugs or alcohol. My other child is addicted to video games, like will stay up 48 hrs with no sleep just playing on his computer , and if you take it away he will literally have panic attacks, and start sweating etc .

It’s good to be aware of the early signs of addiction! I didn’t even realize these could have been signs of addiction until my early 20’s. That’s a crazy story with the beanie boo’s!! $500 worth?! It’s really sad that doctors don’t see these signs as an issue unless they have been in this situation themselves. Thanks for sharing this with me!

were you ever addicted to opiates? it's interesting you say that about chapstick, my mother said when i was like 2 i used to wake her up to get the wrinkles out of my blankets etc. those were early signs of addiction..severe anxiety
@lifewithleahrue1247
@lifewithleahrue1247 7 месяцев назад
I was never a daily opiate user. I would go through phases. It’s crazy looking back at all the early signs of addiction. I had no idea until later on in life and it all makes sense now. Definitely a sign of anxiety as well.

Omg, you explaining the clothing sensory issues is my son to a T !!! He has to wear his socks inside out every single day to avoid that line touching his toes !!! And he also rotates between 2 shirts and 2 pants because he is sooo particular about that they fit. Everything has to be elacstic and stretchy or he literally freaks out. Its not just being picky - he literally has a physical reaction to his clothing being uncomfortable. I wonder if its more of an ocd type thing ??? Are you particular about food/ textures too ? How did you get over it or do you have any advice on what helped you ? He is supposed to be starting counseling after the holidays and I hope it helps. He is only 11 so I dont know if I wld want to put him on medication.... Thanks for sharing ❤
@lifewithleahrue1247
@lifewithleahrue1247 7 месяцев назад
I was the same way… I would not wear jeans. Only stretchy pants. I was very picky about the material and still am. Once I got into high school, I wore more of a variety of things but stuck to similar materials that felt comfortable. I basically wear lounge clothes everyday. I am weird about food textures too. Can’t eat apples with the peal, can’t eat grapes or oranges, grapefruit etc. not sure why, but I’ve been like that since I have a kid. It could be an ocd thing too. I’ve wondered if I have it somedays.. I was never put on any medication.
