Thanks for the video. I couldn't agree with you more. Laminar flow hood is a game changer, I built my own 24 x 24 for $360. If anyone does decide to build there own and watches similar videos don't buy the Dayton 1TDU2, it's too big for a 24 x 24, the Dayton 1TDT8 is the correct size. It was a mistake I made watching other videos.

You can save a ton of money on canned air by purchasing an xpower blower or something similar. It's mostly used to dust computers by IT folks. Mines strong enough to knock my bong over. It's easily 4x stronger air flow than traditional canned air, basically a tiny leaf blower. They're beast.

Use epoxy resin to get it all to stick back together. Will give longer life before you need to replace it. Sucks that the price tag on these hood is so high and the predicted screen is crap. Thanx for all you do.

love all the room to work around. Do you notice stronger air coming through in the middle or is the air stream consistence the whole width of filter?

@@emojibeats4563 Gotcha yeah just make sure you let them know you need the 120 V cord and you’re good to go, all you’ll have to do is takeoff the back panel to wire it in, super easy. Best of luck!

@@MycoTrophic man having the hardest time getting this ordered properly form the company here my mess.. Envirco has no MAC 10 filters designed as you describe, the (RFAC) reverse airflow ffu; is an updraft not down draft design but the filters are all from room side replacement. The UL listing for the MAC 10 prohibits a factory installed power cord and recommends a hard-wired service cord.... How do I just get your exact model they even saying I can't get a 120 v power cord . I'm hella lost just trying to get a reliable hepatitis flow hood I feel like I need a degree I HVAC just to get my product any and all advice is helpful been talking to this company since Monday

Have you looked into how to access the flow rates of your unit over time? I bought an FFU (Envirco Mac 10) off eBay. It was manufactured in December 2016, so it's about 5 years old. Looks pristine, works great, no issues, but my anemometer is getting readings off the grill (placing the anemometer directly against the FFU filter surface) of 0.8 - 1.1 m/s. At 6" away from the grill (where I'd be doing most of my work), I have air velocities of 0.6 - 0.7 m/s on the left side, 0.7 - 0.8 m/s on the right, and only 0.4 m/s in the center at 6" away. That's 80cfm if my calculations are correct. Seems slightly low. Thoughts?

it is. thats why it is recommanded not to buy these. buy a HEPA filter and a fan to blow up bouncing amusement park then make it as one unit with a fan speed controller.

You can buy a prefilter that fits instead of you breaking the unit lol. But the new prefilter comes with new edges also which are broken for you. They cost around 20-30 dollar I think.

He didn't drop any link or real spec and the company saying they don't even have that model that can take a 120 v power cord... More proper instructions would have been good to give us u think .....money not a problem but trying to find an specific product hard when there so many ffu this company offers

The thing with these is that it doesn't state which grade hepa filter is used. Either H13 or H14. I have contacted them so waiting on a response

Just Google how to make your own laminar flow Hood you can get cheap HEPA filters and a good cage fan and make one of these pretty cheaply I mean if your life isn't revolves around having a lab there's no reason to spend like 2500 bucks on one of these or $5,000

Difference of being a professional. flow hoods are worth every single last penny no matter how much they cost ask any real mycologist you can get by with your box fan I’m sure but flow hoods are Industry standard.
