Your garden is beautiful and very well kept, I love it. I just had a patio done looking for landscaping done around it and I'm so glad you took us on a tour to your backyard.

Mums comes back every year! This year they are as they are grown in pots. They are about 4 years old! They must be watered from the top!

Yes, absolutely. I just don’t have much space to devote to them. I used to have quite a few all around my front lamp post in ground. I always say I’ll plant them end of the season, and it never happens. 😆 they actually do much better with bottom watering and avoid wetting the blooms and foliage when possible.

I just watched Jim at HortTube All Star Question and Answer which was a terrific idea. I particularly enjoyed your segment. Many things in your greenhouse were unique in how you used things like the plate holder for your clay saucers, the short handled small spade hung in just the right spot between the otherwise wasted space between the benches, and the pot used to hold your plant labels. I really loved the black stand used to hold the small clay pots upside down and would love to order that if you could leave a link. Soooo inspirational. I'm really glad Jim invited you. You did a terrific job and added a lot to his project.

Front gardens looking 👍 and lots of new plantings will be beautiful! I’m sooo with you, that when I work on one area of my garden, all other areas suffer! And it doesn’t stop outside, but inside the house too … groceries, laundry … et al 😮

This is my first time watching your channel!!! I first saw you on Erin, the Impatient Gardeners Weeds and Wine episode but I didn't know you had your own channel until I saw you on Jim Putnams video and decided to check out your channel. I LOVE your style, whimsy and or house!!! When was it built? It's good you're planting something shorter in front of your Yew hedge so the lower part of it will get more sun and fill out some. Glad I found your channel. 😊❤

Thank you for finding me! Glad you’re here. My house was built in 1920. Been here a little over 20 years now. I did have dwarf hydrangeas in front of the yews, so they were pretty tiny. They are sparse in the bottom because I planted them as very tiny shrubs and they just recently started to touch and grow into eachother. Hope you’re enjoying the Fall season! 💜

Thanks for sharing your collection! So cute! I love to see people’s different collections. It’s so interesting to learn of all the things people like to collect. My things are cake stands and tea cups. I haven’t added to my collection in over a decade. Some of them have been broken by movers and children. I’ve never replaced them. I need to get busy!😆 Maybe I only collect plants now…

Mums are perennials, if planted in the ground they will flower next fall. I have four BEAUTIFUL MUMS in buds and/or flowers already. Gorgeous. Your gardens look lovely! Truly inspirational and a treat to see your creativity! God Bless! YOU are adorable!

Thank you so very much! This messsge made me smile! Yes, I actually used to have a bunch of hardy mums in the landscape. Problem for me is, space is so limited and then a green blob waiting for Fall. 😆 I actually should plant a couple at least. They give beautiful color. 😃🍁

I think your front garden is nice, I like the brick path, the pineapple finials, the hedge in front of the rail and the pots up the steps….many of us have this style of house, I have a porch with the steps coming off to the side…and it’s an older cottage. So I get lots of ideas from you wether it in the front or back….also I am not a fan of mums.

Love it just like Linda Vater walkway in a smaller scale. My flower bed is even with the grass even with a thin border the grass grows in the flower bed so back breaking to pull weeds/grass I do put mulch on it to keep it moist etc.

Hi Laura! I love your channel. I garden in zone 7A, central NJ. I have a "regular" sized front and back yard. Your videos are super relatable for me! I was wondering where you purchased the touch of gold holly. I would like to plant a few this season (Late Winter, Spring 2024) but a quick search online only revealed a nursery in Georgia that does not deliver to NJ. Would love if you could share your resource! Thanks for all the informative videos. I am relatively new to gardening and have learned so much from you and all the other you tube gardeners who so generously share their knowledge.

Your edging looks fabulous. I have been wanting to do a natural edge, but we have Bermuda grass. I don’t know if that would be constant maintenance with the runners or not. What type of grass do you have?

Thanks! Definitely not the best grass here. It’s really a mix of crabgrass, other weeds, and clover. I overseed with white clover because it’s a very low maintenance alternative to grass and the bunnies usually prefer eating that than my plants. And the flowers are great for pollinators too. But the crabgrass and other weeds to make it a challenge to keep clean. I got a pair of long handled sheers this year specifically for trimming it up in between edging and they work really great.

I love Hunter ankle boots. I’ve tried so many. The ones I have are super comfy with a stretchy neoprene around the ankle so it doesn’t hurt or rub, but still keeps dry if your in the muck or watering.

Hi! Absolutely, yes. I’m not a big mulcher. I just do a thin layer to hide wires or drip tube.

I really dislike my front yard 😢 it's bare and there's barely any sunlight. I can't plant hostas there because the heavy deer population in my neighborhood so it has been blank for 14.

Ugh, I’m real sorry to hear it. Have you tried any kind of deer repellent? They make some great spray today. There are tons of deer resistent plants now too. 💜
