Gerald Levert is the son of the great Eddie Levert who was the lead singer of The O'Jays. I don't believe you listened to O'Jays yet. They were a predominantly a 70's group and they had many hits including: For The Love Of Money, Love Train, and Back Stabbers. Also Gerald had a major hit with his brothers in the band Levert with the song Cassanova.

I loved his song "I'd Give Anything". Such a wonderful voice. He died too young, like Heath Ledger, of an accidental mix of prescription painkillers, Xanax for anxiety, and an over-the-counter antihistamine. Individually they are manageable, but the 3 types of meds together can stop your breathing.

One of my favourite smooth R&B tunes of all time, this is one of those liquid gold songs, musical honey. Father and son together and their voices very distinct but on point and this just sung with so much passion. For all the genre's Jay & Amber cover, there needs to be more Motown and TSOP. I think the only TSOP group they covered was Teddy's first band, Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes. TSOP had big influence on R&B.

Gerald is the son and Eddie is the father. I was able to see both in concert almost 20 years ago. Eddie had broken his arm so Gerald stepped in for him in the group the O'Jays. Gerald killed the performance I was so happy to see them. Gerald was also in the group LSG ( Levert, Keith Sweat & Johnny Gill) You should listen to one of their songs too.

The official video shows a lot of home videos of their father and son interaction coming up. They also collaborated on "The Wind Beneath My Wings". I think you will really enjoy At This Moment by Billy Vera & The Beaters. The album version was recorded live and sounds great or there is a 1988 live version where he talks about how the song was not a hit then five years later it was used on Family Ties and it shot to #1.
