I filed the day my husband mentioned divorce.. I was not happy either so it was mutual.. however.. after he got the papers to sign he tried to get back in with me. I work as a DV advocate, and I highly suspect that caller one is also dealing with issues she's not expressing in the call. That dude sounds controlling, misogynistic, and he obviously objectifies her. This! Most of the time when a woman files, it's because the husband has checked out maybe for months or even years, maybe even openly living with a girlfriend or mistress. Divorce takes paper work too it's not easy. Then a lot of men complain that women file for divorce more and that is because he most likely is not bothered with the actual hassle of filing for divorce. By the time a woman files for divorce the woman has been trying and trying beggfing pleading, asking him just come home. And the ñn when the divorce papers are served it ' I never saw that coming'

My ex was literally the same thing. Watched a lot of alpha male influencers and had an unwavering hatred of women and justified it by saying I was a good one. When he asked for an open relationship but only for him I left and never looked back. I feel bad that she’s already married to him but it will get worse and she needs to leave. He must believe he’s a ‘hunkah-hunkah-burnin-love’, and she’s totally bought into it, as she briefly mentioned at the end of her call that if she chooses to leave, she won’t have the “security…that I would need.” He’s got her believing that she’s the ONE he married (she’s HIS wife), that he’s provided a comfortable life for, including a beautiful house, BUT those other women are transitory side chicks, simply distractions that he’s got to share his overflow of ‘burnin-love’ with. After all, he returns to her at his home. Dr. Delony’s suggestions were met with “Mmm hmm, yes, okay, mmm hmm.” There’s something a bit off here….I think she’s willing to trade in the best years of her young life in exchange for a particular lifestyle that’s a transitory facade. He will be searching for a new, younger wife within 5 (maybe 10) years, when her prime reproductive years have passed and he can be assured she won’t be having children with another man. This is more than ‘serious ew!’; it’s actually quite sad.

Right there with you. After 33+ years of marriage where there were 8 (or more, hard to get truth from someone who lies so easily) long-term affairs and some hook-ups I have said enough! I am worthy of love, respect, and integrity and now I am starting over at the age of 61. It is hard but we can do it. It was never my plan to be divorced, but it was never my plan to be married to a cheater and suffer from that kind of abuse. Hoping you find peace and happiness.

Oh my word...I would tell him I'd think about it. Then I would secretly meet with an attorney, prepare and file a divorce, clear out any joint accounts, change the locks and kick him out of the house. Make sure to keep all important paperwork in a separate, secure location. You'll probably have to return half of the joint funds at some point but at least HE won't clear it all out and then YOU have to spend $$ to fight to get it back. Dude doesn't respect you. He's an ass.

@@benmyers9030depends on the state. Our clients did it all the time. Changing locks was put in the temporary orders after the clients gave theirs exes 24 hours or 1 week to clear out their stuff. Although the ex could probably go right back and change the locks after they left since they still had an interest in the property, we never had that happen. They also took out money as well even thoug❤h we didnt tell them to. Judges didn't have a problem with it when they knew they didn't spend all the money either. Had to do more with exes with a history of abusive and controlling behavior where the clients would never see a dime again if they left it in the joint accounts. Either way the amount prior to filing is what is divided so the ex doesn't lose their half, they just can't screw over a vulnerable party after filing.

When my husband left, wherever I went i.e. to the store, work or to pick up my sweet daughter, there were little blood drops wherever I was - that‘s how it felt. My heart was bleeding and I thought I‘d never, ever get over the separation. But, I did. In retrospect it was one of the most painful things but also the best thing that happened to me. There is no pain free way to get through this but, if one sees every single day like a day closer to healing, it really helps. When he left, I made up my mind to completely sign out which means, I did not call him, did not force him to see our daughter, did not call his family, did not check his social media. I completely started a new life and healed My heart. When people asked about him (sometimes intentionally to hurt me), I’d reply that I really do not know but I hope he is happy. And I said that until I meant it. When his girlfriend broke up with him (the one he left me for), he called me after 5 years crying like a baby; he asked if I could sit with him as he feels unsafe with himself; so I did and I held his hand and told him it‘s going to be okay. Then I left with our daughter and never asked again and continued with my life.

My ex of five years tried the same thing with me three years in. His alternative to "cheating" is he wanted me to lose weight. I lost the weight, and he told me my arms were still "flabby". I kept holding on and hoping he would change back into who he was before that conversation and it just got worse. I held on for almost two years and then he ended things with me before my fake deadline that I created in my head. I'm thankful for the dog that I got out of the relationship but I wish I would have left sooner. I was 28 at the time, around Emma's age, and was single for a long time to just process everything. I grieved the relationship that used to exist, but it hadn't for a while, and once it was over I was just relieved.
