Good idea I make the " *masala* " alternative. Boil water then add ginger garlic coriander onion tomatoes carrots chillies mushrooms boil for 15 minutes. Add oats and let it sit for 15 min simmer.
@@phenomenalyuzed is it a good idea ? Also I don't have a refrigerator as I am a college student living on rent so what's a good idea to cook oats without all these cooking methods
It's even better over night, as it will reduce the lectins, that can irritate the gut, and only water is fine. Fresh fruit like berries, banana or apple will be healthier than dried ones or even sugar . If you like the Milky version add yoghurt, it adds probiotics. Some roasted almonds ( only few because of oxalates) or nuts ( walnuts) are great to add flavour and texture.
When you add 2c oats w/ 3c warm water 1/2 tsp. Vanilla 1/2 tsp. Almond extract stir lid cover around 30 mins. Then strain off liquid into measuring cup you will have Vanilla Almond oat MILK. NOW use the soaked oats and make recipe. 1 Tbs maple to sweeten or date paste which is just dates and water ground til as a paste. Chopped nuts are excellent. Bon appetite vegan style!!
Add Yogurt and Stevia instead of milk and sugar, it will be healthier and tastier. Can also add some blanched and chopped almonds, pumpkin seeds to add more antioxidants.
Oats, raisins or cranberries any dry fruit. Splash with water to dampen, microwave 30 seconds,then add any nuts you like. I use stevia but the dry fruit is sweet enough for me.
It's to add more health benefits and yes it's optional,you can add the fruits of your choice you can use brown sugar, syrup or honey as sweetners all optional.
