It's amazing when I browse around RU-vid and check out different channels and all the different and sometimes bizarre choices that people make for too 10 (11) in the comments section. In some cases it obviously differs in age and genre tastes but in terms of classic rock i notice it's usually the same ones that people commonly choose for their lists. Good picks Larry.

Oh, btw, I already commented this on Glen Kellaway's channel, but I don't think I told you yet: I finally listened to that BLIND FAITH album! I really like it, it's not normally my type of music, but I liked it much more than I thought I would! I've played 'Propaganda' way more than the rest of my SPARKS albums, it's the songs 'Reinforcements' and 'BC' I can't get enough of, 'Kimono...' is tied with 'The Girl Is Crying...' I've played those a lot too. AND, just so you know, I just bought 'Hippopotamus' today and made a video where I opened it! I'll be doing an updated review of all my SPARKS albums really soon!

Yeah, my top 10 most played all-time would be heavily weighted towards the late 60's/early 70's, too. Allman Bros At the Fillmore, Steve Miller 5, Jefferson Airplane Volunteers, Led Zeppelin 1, Quicksilver Messenger Service Happy Trails, Rolling Stones Let It Bleed, Chicago (2nd album), James Gang Rides Again, Ten Years After Cricklewood Green, Deep Purple Made in Japan. Bonus picks: Bob Dylan Highway 61 Revisited, Who's Next, Bob Seger Live Bullet, Beatles Revolver, Linda Ronstadt Heart Like A Wheel, Grateful Dead Workingman's Dead.

Funny to see Steppenwolf on there, as I would say Monster, Steppenwolf 7, and For Ladies Only are very high on my lifetime most-played list. Got into those young through my dad. I have heard them across multiple formats. And I think I played Grand Funk Live three times last week, haha. Not my normal rate of playing it, but I was just on a kick. It is magnificent. Yup, Kimono My House I have played A LOT, as well. I think Abbey Road might be the Beatles record I have heard the most since it was the first one I got. It might also be Revolver. Pretty much all the Beatles albums are going to have a high play count, but the counts have been diluted because I owned a lot of US-only releases in their places, such as Meet The Beatles, Beatles '65, Something New, etc. I only play the real-deal UK versions now.

Thanks Stud, good show. Nice list…will give a couple I don’t know well a listen. To be accurate I am sure my top 4 would be: Meet the Beatles (my first LP), Emerson Lake and Palmer (my get high to LP), Eli and the Thirteenth Confession (my first LP by a woman, and I must add Sergeant Pepper….sorry about two by the same group. Then maybe Who’s Next, Every Picture Tells a Story, Young Americans, Saint Dominic’s Preview…..not sure after those.

My most-played album is probably “Elvis: 30 #1 Hits” since the CD got stuck in my car, so it’s the only album I’m allowed to listen to while driving 😂😂 But as far as non-compilations go I think “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” by Elton John is my most-listened to album. It’s been my favorite album for years, and was the first double album I bought on vinyl.

The Beatles, Tangerine Dream, Genesis, Steely Dan, King Crimson, Yes, The Police, Miles Davis, The Doobie Brothers and The Moody Blues. Also, the classical composer Gustav Mahler. Great list! I heard Sgt.Pepper´s at my english teachers house for the first time. Must´ve been around 1980. Personally I listened quite a lot to Magical Mystery Tour, Hey Jude and Abbey Road. Over the last years I also gave Revolver lots of spins. Let it Be always was too depressing in my opinion. But on Sgt.Pepper´s are two songs that I really love to death: Lovely Rita and A Day in the Life!

I just wrote them as I thought of them. Somewhere in Time - Iron Maiden ** Dirty Deeds - AC/DC * 10 to 1 - Midnight Oil Fresh Fruit for .. - Dead Kennedys ** Rum Sodomy and the Lash - The Pogues Hallowed Ground - Violent Femmes Highway 61- Bob Dylan Ziggy Stardust - David Bowie ** October - U2 * Led Zeppelin 4 Elvis In Person White Album - The Beatles ** Morrison Hotel - The Doors * and two compilations: Legend - Bob Marley Solid Gold Easy Action - T Rex ** * denotes cassette, ** taped cassette from friend, nothing means lp. When I was a teen my preferred listening method was cassette because I had a cassette recorder in my room. Even if I had an lp I would record them to cassette.

There's a common thread in all these videos and its this line.... "This isnt my favourite (insert band) album but its the one i play the most" Is it possible that it actually is your favourite? Why do we play albums that aren't our favourites more than our favourites? Why don't we do this with other things in our life like food for example, would we choose to eat something that isnt our favourite more than our favourite food if it was always available?
@canadianstudmuffin

I love Sparks new album as much as Kimono My House or even more, but I certainly haven't played it as much as it was just released this year.
@mariomanno1
@mariomanno1 Год назад
My reason for this is that I find some albums easier to put on and just listen to than others but I don’t think it always means I prefer them. I think the main reason for this is accessibility personally but I don’t know if I can say it’s that every single time. A good example of this is Radiohead. Both I and my brother would say we listen to The Bends the most but neither of us would say it’s our favourite. Also the food comparison really depends on what the food is I suppose. If your favourite food is quite healthy I’d imagine there would be no issue with eating it a lot, but if it’s like constantly deep fried foods then maybe not? Some people try not to eat their favourite foods too much because they don’t want to become sick of it. I find this is true for my favourite music and films too. My favourite movie is probably Shawshank Redemption and I haven’t watched that film for about 5 years but I still adore it although Goodfellas does come close.

This is just for fun, I don't take it that seriously and a top 10 works for me.

If it's the top 10 most listened to you should be able to come up with a decent guess. Forget about which ones are best and which ones you like the most. It's mainly going to come down to when you had time listen to albums and how often you've gone back to them.
