The monetization is so ridiculous, back in the early 2000’s when RU-vid first came out people were making videos using racial slurs and really offensive racist content so it’s really ironic they monetize people now for the tiniest things. Your channel has been nothing but a feel good experience for viewers and so very down to earth... with Larry, Molly, the cats and some occasional friends. Unfortunately RU-vid now feels like the opposite of this. A very impersonal and inhuman network. May god help us if this is our future where AI algorithms make the rules with any possible human contact being deliberately removed from the equation.

I was thinking recently how does RU-vid pay content creators because I would imagine that there are far more monetized channels than advertisers. Hang in there Larry. I’m so sorry for how difficult and stupidly unreasonable this is. If they use some bot to periodically look for content that goes against guidelines and if RU-vid is as great and bigger and better than ever as it should be why can’t something as simple as an EXPLANATION at least be given. Like “because of this video doing this”.

This is just horrible, Larry. Your channel was the first channel that I watched routinely, starting way back in 2007 or so. Anyway, I have been thinking about what on earth could possibly be the “not original content” complaint of RU-vid, and the only thing I can think of is maybe it is related to the recent series of reaction videos you’ve made where you show various rankings from web sites on one half of the screen and your face on the other half? Maybe that is considered as “use of unoriginal content” or some such ridiculous thing. Otherwise I can’t even fathom what RU-vid could be possibly complaining about. Very weird. And very ridiculous. So sorry this is happening to you. But I will always follow you on whatever channel you are on. You’re still the original and the best!! Thanks for everything. Jeff

Thanks for all the great content I've enjoyed over the years. I'll definitely be moving over to the other channel and hope everyone will do the same. It would be interesting to see how much RU-vid, Google and Alphabet have made compared to the pittance they pay to folks like you who do all the actual work. I'm sure that will come out in the class-action lawsuit that is almost certain to come soon. RU-vid itself can't explain what it's rules 🤷 & " Community Guidelines " are. It's wholly arbitrary & ridiculous. Enforced not by humans but by bots. Farcical.

With all of the problems plaguing RU-vid these days, including the countless content farms, spammers, death hoaxes and creators whose entire existence seems to be centered around slamming other RU-vidrs...they decide to go after you. And then they can't even properly explain what happened. Just unbelievable. That letter they sent you has all the sincerity of a brick and looks like it could have been written by A.I., for all I know. This is the direction things are heading, apparently. After 14 years of watching RU-vid (under two different names, the other being elc1960), the site has deteriorated badly. They allow people to spam comments sections with insulting and offensive remarks, but others get restrictions placed on them for no reason. Bullying is rampant and pervasive here now, where it was once grounds for people to have their accounts pulled. If they think they've improved anything here with their new algorithm, they're sadly mistaken. Thanks for all the high quality entertainment Larry. They're implying the issue is some copyright issue, or use of others material, yet nothing that had got the original video blocked or elicited a warning. Very frustrating. The only thing I can think of that you have done often recently that might trigger something is show a lot of music lists from published articles and react to them? It could be that its some stupid automated algo thing or its a malicious YT moderator that has done this for some reason.

So ridiculous. I hope something works out and you can contact a real human being. This should not be an end of an era.

I hate RU-vid. Correction: what RU-vid has become. I love channels, creators. People. But I hate RU-vid. I mean “HATE” (they love it in caps). I don’t want to get into arguments, but I respectfully disagree commenters tell you that you should’ve followed RU-vid’s “rules”, almost defending them. RU-vid doesn’t follow their own rules. Not giving you visibility or clear details of what you have done wrong is like police arresting you without telling you why and not reading your rights. That is ILLEGAL. RU-vid supports and promotes hate videos (and I’m not saying it figuratively), self destruction, clickbait, or plain lies. Just check the trending videos to see the amount of garbage that this platform allows. PD: i hope you can make a strong case in the next months or even get advice from a lawyer.

That sucks. I still watch your videos even though I don't comment often. I've been on RU-vid for 15 years and still never got the option to monotize my channel due to low views. I also didn't create my channel to make money, but I'm disabled too and could always use extra cash. I've recently watched videos from two other subscriptions who are also quitting because they hoped it would help them make extra money, only to find it a waste of time. I know your situation is different especially with that letter you got. RU-vid is really going downhill. It really ticked me off when my own videos began having advertisements on them, yet I didn't get a cut. Take care.

It might be just the livestreams shared on two channels. Remove those videos, reapply in 3 months and see if that works. Grow the other channel and see what happens.
