With my CBR650 now sold, here's my new bike.
Can you tell what it is?
I also talk about why I plumped for this bike - it was the deal I got - and why I ruled out some other bikes.

Cheers from Canada! Glad to hear from another satisfied VFR1200X owner, and for all the right reasons. I've the DCT model, a 2016, it's got much of the same accessories that came on the your highlander (no luggage though), dealers here have trouble with Honda Canada giving them a break ($). Dropped my bike a couple of times, at a standstill, on gravel or sand, and yes it's heavy to pick up loaded with luggage and camping gear, and I'm 67 years old, but I wouldn't want anything different. Love the ride and all the miles, 20,000km since last August, so I'm out as often as possible, even put 50/50 tires on for the winter here on Vancouver Island. Love it. Ride safe and happy trails.

Thanks for sharing. I just the last week dropped mine fully loaded in a petrol station. My own stupid fault! Took three of us to get it back up on the stand again! I've just clocked up 7k km since the end of Nov17 and I'm liking it more and more. Got an update video coming soon. I think this is a bike that you don't instantly fall in love with but the more you ride it the more attached you become to it. Thanks for watching and keep safe.

I had to click to see if it was a Crosstourer because it looked like it by the exhaust... confused though because you just bashed it in the last video I watched.. maybe this one will explain haha

I do fancy a DCT CrossTourer but I’m waiting for cruise control to be available. Disappointed to see you’ve got the manual version 😉. I’m looking forward to seeing more videos. 👍🏻🏍

I tried the DCT on the Africa Twin and I just don't like it. It's a brilliant bit of tech and so smooth but it just doesn't float my boat. I prefer the slow speed control of a manual too. Plus the deal from the dealership was too good for this bike. Would've been too expensive for a list price DCT Crosstourer

Congrats on the new bike. I got a new 2015 VFR800 after a teenage driver totaled my CBR650F.

Nice bike👍. Is it heavy though? Did you think of the Crossrunner?

The Winnersh Racer Have you seen the servicing costs for the VTEC motor? Some people are paying £1,000 for a valve clearance check/adjustment 😱

It is a very HEAVY beast. Picking it up off the side stand or getting it up on the centre stand is a real effort. Manoeuvring on uneven ground and/or pebble car parks is a PITA too and I've nearly dropped it a couple of times, but general day to day stuff is fine especially as I can get 2 feet flat on the ground. You really don't notice the weight when riding and it's not heavy at all once on the move and slow speed riding is fine also. It's very nicely balanced.

Yes it's expensive for a valve clearance service. I bought a service plan to cover my next 3 services - 1yr/8k miles, 2yrs/16k miles (and valve clearance check), 3 yrs/24k miles for about £650

Middleaged Rider I was referring to the 800 as it has variable vale timing, the 1200 doesn’t. Good thinking getting the service plan 👍🏻

And yes I did think of the Crossrunner but I was too tempted by the grunt of the 1200!! Plus it was all about the deal and this just worked.

Well I am at the moment - very good and helpful dealership a stone throws away and bikes I've enjoyed riding - doesn't mean I'd always have a Honda especially if the two things I mentioned changed!!!
