Really enjoy your videos. I’ve been smoking a pipe regularly for about 6 months. Learned a lot from you and still do. Especially the Rattrays pipes. All my pipes are Rattrays, love ‘em. Mine are all 9mm filters and I smoke them with Vauen filters in place and you are one of the guys that helped me switch to filter pipes. Also your low nicotine tobacco choices is great stuff also. Look forward to more videos from you.
I always like looking at pipes and pipe collection videos. Youve been splashing out some serious moolah, but youve also got yourself some decent pipes there. Love the Van Cleef, very cool plus it is a Yanik, who is indeed well respected..
Thanks for when you shared the Alpascia Curvy's, I bought the Nature 01 ,Got it in 3days Loved it had to ordered another one got it in 3 days it's the Matt black 01 ,Love these little pipes ,You was so right how they just hang on your jaw ,I'm probably going at least one more in blue or green ,THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR CHANNEL
Good choices all over, enjoy for your good health, Best Greets, Paul Ps, Vauen's engineering is top-notch as you would expect from German manufacturers, and as to Rattray's been told they are made somewhere in France, whereas brand's headquarter is located in Germany
That's a nice collection, thanks for sharing. Did the same move to 9mm pipes 4 years ago but I did not have the heart to get rid of all my non filtered-pipes. I rarely smoke them anymore but when I do, I really can tell the difference. I have the very same Lovat Craggy Root from Rattray's and am quite please with it as well. Out of the 22 pipes I own, 8 are Vauen! My favorite is a smooth Tivoli shape 143, a great smoker. Stay well.
Hello Mike,...well, looks like you were able to replace your old pipes with some beautiful 9mm filter pipes. Thanks for sharing that...enjoy smoking those beauties! Take care and be well! Corey
Very good collection of pipes. You should make a video of the low nicotine pipe tobacco that you have found. That would be helpful and informative. Thanks and take care.
What a great new pipe collection brother! It makes more sense to have just a handful of blends to choose from. I am thinking about getting rid of some of the jarred baccy that I never smoke. Glad to see your doing better.
@@Bennysoapco Thank You for your reply . I'm concerned I wonder if he's still alive . I new he had been ill . I lived south of him & I was hoping to meet him but it never happened sad to say .
Mike....absolutely tremendous 👏🏻 👏🏻 😀 just fabulous pipes ‼️‼️😃👊🏻...Vauen is great pipes I almost got the black one Rattrays is good to got one on the way....you are absolutely all set brother 👍 no question about it well done Mike
Pipes And kayaks Yup Brad, we both did it! Lots of work changing over to 9mm, but its worth it. I'm done buying pipes now. Time to enjoy what I have! Rattrays makes a good pipe. I was impressed for sure.
Wow! Superb collection again Mike, love the “LVC” of course, wouldn’t be without mine! I’m saving up to buy a mid-range churchwarden, I have the Savinelli “Ginger” but want a meerschaum as well, I hope you enjoy breaking them all in and the fun to be had watching them colour up, I too only have about 15 pipes now and 14 tobaccos in jars? it fills my needs just fine, stay well Mike and happy smokes 👍💨💨💨 Terry
Terry theartist Absolutely! Cutting back on the number of pipes and tobaccos was a great thing for me. I feel more organized now. I like churchwardens, but usually the bowls are too small. I was so happy to find the neerup with a larger bowl! Happy smokes my friend!
Couldn't agree more on the 9mm systems. I've also switched over. I'm looking forward to the links for the Turkish carvers. Rattrays did make fine pipes and I think you'll really enjoy them
thestudleygroup Seems there are many people switching to 9mm pipes. To me, it's just a healthy thing to do. I was impressed with Rattrays pipes. Thanks for watching!
Great selection, the first 9mm pipe i purchased was a Savinelli Luxor 122 estate pipe, as soon as I smoked it with the perl charcoal filter I fell in love with pipe smoking all over again. So now i'm on the quest to get more 9mm filtered pipes. I recently picked up a Rattrays goblin 100. Small billiard style pipe and smokes wonderful. Also just subbed to your channel.
Backwoods Piper 1 I like the vaeun pipes a lot. The neerup pipes have always been one of my favorites. If can, and your wife won't hit you with a cast iron pan, get yourself one Al. LOL
Beautiful pipes! That Vaughn sandblast looks great. I really like it. I'm very new to this hobby, and I'm very unfamiliar with filtered pipes, but then again I'm very unfamiliar with the many types of pipes. I have some homework to do. Thank you for sharing. I just subbed you and I hope to see more of you.
Lezra 3one2 Thanks! There are many good channels for new pipe smokers. You'll learn a lot. Don't be in a hurry to buy stuff until you do some research!
Smokin' Briar thank you for responding. I haven't gone too crazy with the purchases. I have been following the YTPC and have taken advice from many. I started with cobs and fairly inexpensive pipes. I find it very pleasurable, but I feel that I've only begun to scratch the surface. This video has broadened my idea as to how much more there is to consider and I look forward to watching more of your videos. Thanks again.
Hi, new sub here. Being a Danish pipe smoker i had to comment on that Danish Stanwell. The sandblasted Stanwell is a "Stanwell Trio 9 mm model 118". If you like big bowls and hefty pipes you should check out the 118's big brother the model 11. Its also a 9 mm filter pipe and very similar to the 118's design. There are also the models 185 and 232 from Stanwell. They are very big pipes. The German Vauen pipes are fantastic. The name is pronounced "Fauen" because V in German has a F sound. Remember if you would like a small pocket pipes Savinelli makes small pipes with 6mm balsa filter. Gesundhiet/get well soon.
Felix Espana Check ebay....there's a shop called Harrison & Simmons on there where you can get one. They are in the UK, but ship fast and charge a fair price. Also, keep an eye on Cup O Joes website. Search " 9mm pipes". Their inventory changes a lot.
I remember the movie! And the pipe! That's a beautiful Meershaum! Do you have a link to contact these vendors or Carver's. You have excellent taste in pipes my friend! That stem on the Neerup is amazing! Thanks for sharing! Great video! Happy smokes!
John Ferguson Yes, i can provide you the names of the Meerschaum carvers. I'll tell you in advance, these guys all live in Turkey and the pipes take weeks to get made and weeks to get shipped Here. That neerup stem is amazing to me too. Neerup makes some beautiful pipes! Thanks
Smokin' Briar The yellow stemmed Meershaum bent egg is amazing. May I ask how much you paid? Does the Carver have a website? Thanks so much! It's probably out of my price range.
@@SmokinBriar I have 4 Savinellis already, and I was planning to buy my 5th one. But after watching your video and another that I watched from your channel, you mentioned that for you, it's more about the pipe. Even though, if you don't have the tobacco, there's no smoking a pipe, I kind of feel the same. I like having a really nice pipe in my hand. You mentioned between the lines that "there's many great pipes out there and really new pipe makers" and we need to discover those pipes. For me, I love Savinelli, but I think I should discover different pipes. I saw a Rattray's that I really like. I may buy it instead of the Savinelli. Thank you for your videos, I really enjoy them.
@@SmokinBriar Hi Mike are you doing ? A while ago I sent you a message letting you know that I would like to meet up with youtoget to know you & smoke our pipes together. I live fairly close south of down Us - 19 in New Port Richey . Please PM me on FACEBOOK und RobetAndrewShaw & I will pM you my contact info so we can meet up & smoke our pipes together . Hope to hear back from you soon . Hope you had a nice Christmas & Happy New Year . Cheers Mike !
@@bobshaw4063 Hi Bob, how are you? I don't have Facebook, and my health condition right now is not too good. I haven't even been smoking my pipes at all. I appreciate the invitation to meet up, but at this point it wouldn't be something I could do. Sorry, and have a happy new year!
No offense intended, but I'm confused why you think 9mm pipes are hard to come by. It seems as I look at pipes online lately, I see about 50% of the pipes are 9mm filter type. Savinelli, Stanwell, Vauen, and the such are readily available at our largest online pipe dealers here in the US.
I apologize for ignorance but in the beginning of your video you said you sold your collection because of your health?. I'm hoping to purchase a pipe soon and just wondering should and why purchase a 9mm filter pipe?. Trying to learn the hobby, thank you for help in advance.Hope you feel better my friend.
@@SmokinBriar thanks a lot brother for replying. I am new to pipe smoking and I found your channel to be very helpful. There are sone questions I want to ask 1) How many bowls do you smoke in a day? 2) How many bowls can we smoke in same pipe a day? 3) can we use 9mm filter pipe without filter? Means does it effects the taste of tobacco?
poker pot pipe Most of the decent meerschaum pipes are made in Turkey. Google pipe brands such as "Yanik" "altinay" "SMS" and check smokingpipes.com and Milan tobacco shop for good meerschaums. Unless you wan't 9mm, meershaum pipes from turkey are not hard to find. Also search ebay too.
