My Old Town Predator PDL: Truck Bed Extender and Bonnlo Kayak Cart

After moving to Long Island, I realized having a trailer is just a nuisance. Not only that, but my Custom PVC cart broke on me twice so I abandoned that Idea as well. Here's the result of both, I purchased the Truck Bed Extender from Harbor Freight and the Bonnlo Kayak Cart from Amazon which I like both so far. The only issue I have with the cart is that the Predator PDL had trouble sitting on the cart unless you sit it right under the seat.

Great job 👍 I just got my predator . I love the boat cleats you put on the rear tracking I'm going to do that.I think I'm going to put trailer lights on my truck bed extender just plug into my trailer lights on my truck extra visibility for four drivers behind me.

That's a great idea! I used to stick a battery powered red light on the stern of the kayak but that seems like a better idea!

I just bought this bed extender from Harbor Freight yesterday and it wobbles so much. On top of that, when I raise the crossbar to its highest setting, it still sits below my tailgate. Not much help if it doesn’t touch my kayak. Maybe adding a pool noodle will help? I’ll have to try before taking it back.

I have a pool noodle on mine, it is important to have to protect your kayak. Surprised it still sits low, would be a shame if you can't use it!

@@SaltyMcFogg so I bought an extra fat pool noodle and even with that wrapped around the cross bar, it was still about 2 inches under my kayak. I have a 2019 RAM 1500 (new body) so maybe that is why. I think the beds sit higher on the new body style. Either way, looks like a Boondox T-Bone is in my future. That’s what I get for trying to save some money. Haha.

@@XploreAz That's so wild, sorry that didn't work out for you. Yeah I'm not familiar with the Dodge truck heights and such so that's just unlucky! Hopefully Harbor Freight will let you return it for a full refund, I don't see why not.

Great vid...what do you do with your cart when in the water? ...obvious answer is to store it in your truck. I wasn't sure if you attached it to the kayak at all. Thanks.

So this cart can fit in the stern, it's a little awkward but it works. Just lay it so the tires are even in that back well and then you can bungee it to your crate. If you don't really need it storing it in your vehicle saves a lot of space. I do that most of the time because I fish a lot of places where i don't immediately need the cart and my truck isn't far away.
