Yes,Miss Helen your right, being kind to others makes us happy in side too. I see you're from Georgia, my I'm surprised the weather gets cold there, & freezing temperature too. My Mamma taught me waste not, want not. So glad you found a use for the shingles. My, my they're over a 100 yr.'s old. Just think who ever made them, & put them on had a whole lot of differences then now a days. We take for granite how most things are easier, & machine made today, a lot faster too. The sweet bluebird house so Beautiful, & handmade by the great Miss Helen. Your son is very good to you. I cared for my Mamma 7 year's. Hospice helped the last few months. Mamma Mabel was 92 when she went to be with the lord. She Loved to watch the bird's too. You're an inspiration to me to make a blue bird house too. I'll finish my coffee now, & see you later. What a cute little birdhouse....:).Just as a suggestion...use Hard as Nails first and once it's glued, it might be easier to nail... ... or use screws...in case you try another... My neighbor has 15 bluebird houses on her property.... along with other houses... I was going to attempt making one until she explained blue birds are very picky... The diameter of the hole has to be a certain size... color matters... has to be on a pole so many feet high and facing south and a bush or tree 25-100 ft away......... I gave up that idea fast...lol As another suggestion.... Cardinals also eat other seeds besides sunflower.... I buy the white bag of mixed seeds at Walmart and mix those with the sunflower ones.. Cardinals and other birds think it's a buffet.... :) They also love the berry and nut sees but those aren't cheap... Stay safe and God Bless.... We are expecting 12-18" of snow tomorrow..:(...

That's the cutest little bird house I have ever seen! Don't be surprised if the bird's pick all the moss off it though. I know mine would 😄. You know that Blue Jays love peanuts? They can swallow a peanut whole. I've watched mine do it about every day last summer. If you have some you could put a few peanuts on the house to attract them over there. My husband gets me tools for Christmas and my birthday. He got me a real nice drill and an extra battery for my bday on the 27th. I told him i recon i best get to work with what he got me Christmas and my bday...😂😂😂😂 You did real good on the bird house...looks great!! The only thing different that I'd of done and do, I put wood glue along the edges before nailing because it just makes it more sturdy. But you did a great job Ms Helen..😍

I used to have an 8 ft long snake (nonpoisonous), that would lie in wait in a row of old scrubby looking holly bushes, for the Cardinals to fly in. He did the same in the spring targeting the babies. I paid some big strong guys about a year ago, to remove the old shrubs, and solved the problem.✅
