My Raw Vegan Diet ♥ What I Ate & Why It's Not For Me

The Boho Beautiful Vegan Food and Diet approach. Our experience with being Raw Vegan in Costa Rica.
This was my journey on trying to live Raw Vegan for 7 days. It's important to challenge your body from time to time to truly allow yourself to understand what your body needs to thrive at its best. It's hard to say that one type of eating habit will work for everyone as all of our bodies work in different ways. As long as our choices do not harm our planet and/or take away freedom and peace from sentient beings, I believe it's important to try and experiment with different ways of nourishing ourselves to understand the best way we individually can thrive.

I did vegan and yin yoga for several months and felt amazing. Ultimately I stopped, I'm a truck driver and country boy the unfortunately fell back into the headspace I'd escaped. I loved this video and followed one of your yin classes when I found y'all's couple days ago. I think y'all are so informative and exactly what I need to normalize this change for the better in my life. I'll look for your app tonight. Folks I'm around would never understand me wanting to be vegan or do yoga. But I do want both, I've once felt the difference. Maybe y'all online can be the inspiration I need when I have zero support from folks around me.

Hi Julianna! Thank you very much for sharing your experience as well as for your precious videos! Speaking about raw vegan diet, I've been eating only raw food for about 6-7 years now. My first impression was very similar to yours, although I felt inside that I'm doing a right thing, so I continued eating only fruit and veggies. I also started to do different cleanses to allow my body to clean itself faster. During next several months I lost lots of pounds and became really-really skinny, but I also started to feel elevated. After a while I gained my weight back (I was also skinny before starting raw diet). My body was full of energy and the vibe has changed radically. There was nothing in the world that would upset me or make me feel nervous. It was the whole new world for me, and that's why I'm still doing it after all these years. I agree that you have to listen to your body first and that's what you do. We always need a right time for such transformations. So, who knows... Maybe one day raw food diet will become an important part of your life as well. Please have a beautiful day!

Thank you so much for inspiring so many people around the world with your videos :) it is a little bit crazy to think back to one and a half years ago, when I wasn't vegan, I wasn't able to do more than a half hour walk with our dog per day due to a chronic illness. That was when I started doing your Pilates classes. I couldn't get through any of them without pausing at least six times in 15 minutes, but it didn't take long for me to see changes and I stuck to it. I got better, got new hope, inspiration and overall stronger again. It wasn't easy, actually there were countless moments when I broke down crying (the illness I have led to a lot of things changing negatively) but I always got up again and fought fought fought for my health, and I failed a lot and still fail sometimes. But I changed my lifestyle 180 degrees, my diet, I started meditating and since summer last year I eat about 95 % vegan. So I am not saying that all of that happened because of you, because... well, in the end it was me who made it through, but you guys definitely helped me a lot along the way and I just thought you should know that. It is crazy that back then I could barely finish a 15 minute workout, whereas now doing Pilates and Yoga are such important parts of my life, and you helped me with that journey. So, thank you for inspiring us with every new video you do and greetings from Germany! :)

Hi, we just watched about 6 episodes of your videos, and I was smiling during every single one. I too, sold everything and moved out of the United States two years ago. My 12 year old son, my fiance and I now live around the world during the year, mainly in Barbados, Southern France and Naples Florida. When we are not in those places were are someplace else on the planet. My son now visits places that most other kids his age only see on RU-vid, etc. He now understands (or at least learning) that live is about the experience. Not where you are going, but how you actually get there (the journey). A few years ago I realized that live wasn't about having STUFF and being identified with what you own or what you do for a living. From the moment I had that realization I've completely changed my live and the life of my family. I know that some viewers may post negative comments etc; however, from my point of view they just haven't had their moment of realization yet. And, when they do, they will feel exactly the same way as we do. Our lives are very much similar to yours with the exception that we have a 12 year old with us. Our realization have caused us to be and feel more connected with the world around us and thus have the same sentiments as you with respect to your thoughts and comments. I can write a book here, so I will end it short. However, if you ever want to visit Barbados you are more than welcome to stay at our place. Its right on the beach and its where we run and practice Yoga. Nevertheless, keep doing what you are doing. Most people are still sleeping and not yet awake and may not understand what you are doing and why you are doing what you are doing. They soon will have their moment and then will be in the same boat as us.

I have been vegan for decades and have experimented with all of the combinations too. I did all raw for 2 months several years ago and was covered in bruises and was crazy lethargic. With my friend Ali, I started experimenting with the 80 10 10 diet and eat about the same as you...Raw fruits and vegetables all day and the some raw combined with some cooked food for dinner. This proved to be the best combination for me too. I have amazing energy now and at 60 am the most fit I have ever been. Yoga brings peace and happiness into this life as well. I practice daily but am kind to my body when it is tired. Thank you for all of the lovely stories and info on your diet. Your classes bring much happiness into my life. Thank you, ever xox, Lolly

Raw Vegan makes me feel sooo amazing! I love it and do it repeatedly off and on. It gives me this deep energy and I no longer crave or binge eat. I'm always satisfied and clear minded! Go raw vegan with plenty of food!! Don't mix weird food and don't just drink juice. But raw vegan is incredible.

I truly appreciate the transparency you delivered regarding your experience. I've been a vegan for 4 years now, and it has truly been one of the best decisions. I also tried the raw vegan diet and determined that it wasn't suitable for me either. I have a sensitive stomach that is easily triggered, so when I only started consuming raw foods, it significantly shifted my digestion and caused a lot of nausea and dizziness. I find my traditional vegan regimen to be healthy enough. Our foods do not have to be raw for them to be nutritious. Some studies actually confirm this. The most important action is simply being kind to your body and listening to what it NEEDS. Every eating regimen isn't suitable for everyone, and that's perfectly fine. I will, of course, be a continual advocate for plant-based eating; however, it shouldn't matter whether you're a raw vegan or a traditional one. Just focus on consuming a variety of fruits and veggies and maintaining great balance to ensure you obtain key vitamins and minerals.

Juliana thank you for being so real and truthful. My partner and I made the decision to go vegan 4 weeks ago and we love it. Over the last 2 months I have watched a lot of documentaries on food. I have learnt so much how harmful eating meat and dairy can do to our bodies. It is never to late to change I am turning 58 in June and my Partner is turning 54 and with a plant based diet we are feeling amazing. We all need to look at what is happening in our world and the harm we are doing eating meat and dairy. This is my way to try and help. I am like you I start with smoothie in the morning, salads at lunch and a cooked meal for dinner and it works beautifully for me. Thanks again you are such an inspiration and truly enjoy listening to you. Xo

I've been thinking about doing the Raw Diet , I'm still not a 100% vegan, vegetarian for many years. The only thing I still cheat on here and there is cheese at parties, or if someone cooked something with butter. But I agree with you, I crave cooked meals, I think 80/20 is the perfect combination. Great video, thanks for sharing and inspiring others!!! Btw, you look amazing!!!

Hi! I never comment, this my 1st ever on youtube, but I care a lot about how food is grown so thought id put myself out there and add to the convo :) ...I just wanted to add that how your food is grown matters a lot to our health and to the earth. It was mentioned in the video that being vegan or raw "you are not harming the environment or animals"; however, there are many other important aspects to consider aside the food item itself (i.e. fruit, veggie, oats) How it is grown - the soil, pesticides, how the animals grazing and fertilizing that environment are cared for, etc. - are all vital to our health and to the earth. Where that food comes from, how it is grown, is just as imporant - I believe - as what the food item is. Anywho, I know many people here probably know this already as does Boho Beautiful. Since it was said fairly boldy in the video that being vegan has no negative impact, I felt it wouldn't hurt to add this with love just in case :) thanks for sharing your practice with us.

Super important point. Also, many vegans use almond milk which actually uses sooo much water to produce so that is an example of how the diet CAN have a negative environmental impact. I sometimes feel like some vegans go in so deep with just the animal-product ethics side of things and forget about the larger system, the environment.

Thank you so much for sharing this! I love all of your videos but this one spoke to me today! I'm coming upon my third week of being vegan (they say it takes 21 days to form a habit! 😉) I have IBS and my body is having a hard time digesting all of the veggies (I've been having both raw & cooked), beans, nuts, etc. After two weeks of feeling so energized, my skin looks clearer, sleeping better, etc. I started feeling bloated and having cramps, someone suggested vegan enzymes & probiotics which seem to be helping some; but as I sit here sipping peppermint tea and a cold pack on my stomach you remind me that what I'm doing is fuel for my body and that it does takes time. I'm so driven to make this a permanent lifestyle change, it's encouraging to hear of you talk about your struggles and to read some of the comments knowing this is common. Thank you for continuing to share your (and your hubby's) journey! It really is inspiring! ✌🏻❤️🥑

I kept seeing these videos of beautiful people showing their raw vegan diet and lifestyle, and I wanted to be like them so bad. But when I went raw, I experienced the opposite - bloating, bigger appetite and just felt sick of what used to be my favorite fruits. This video was so validating, obviously some people thrive on a raw diet, and some don't. We are all different. Thank you so much 💗
@Rosherrrs99
@Rosherrrs99 Месяц назад
Thanks for making this video! 💗 7 year raw vegan/fruitarian here. I just wanted to say that from watching this video, I can understand why you were experiencing things like bloating and low energy. Reasons: 1) Not eating enough calories 2) Combination of sugar+fat 3) fruit getting stuck behind backed up waste in the intestines More detailed: 1) On this diet we need to eat enough! I understand it's hard in the beginning, because our stomach isn't used to eating in such a volume. But we need the calories for energy and raw just isn't as calorie dense as cooked stuff! It took months for me to be able to eat enough to get around 2000 calories in raw food. Now I can put away around 6kg of watermelon a day, comfortably!! 😂 and that's 1800 calories just from that 😁 2) The combination of fat and sugar is a no-no if we want to have enough energy and don't want to get bloated. Mixing hemp seeds and fruit will cause issues because the fruit digests faster, but in your food I noticed that you combined them. So there will be digestive issues from this (eg. Bloating). Also the combination of fat and sugar causes a sugar high and then a sugar crash, which helps to explain your low energy. The insulin helps to carry sugar from the blood into the cells, to give the body energy. Eating fat at the same time as sugar means that the receptor site on the cell, is blocked so that the insulin cannot take the sugar into the cell. So it stays in the blood. Then the body gets panicked because the blood sugar is too high, and extra insulin is secreted. Then when the fat eventually dislodges from the receptor site on the cell, there is too much insulin in the blood, and it takes too much sugar into the cell, leaving not enough sugar in the blood- resulting in a "crash". When this happens long term, we call it diabetes. Fat+sugar is a deadly combo. When we actually think about it, there is no food in nature that is high in sugar AND fat. Avocado, nuts, seeds- high in fat low in sugar. Bananas, cherries, melons- high in sugar low in fat. Foods combining fat+sugar are not made by Mother Nature. They are made by humans, just like diseases and chronic illness is not make by Mother Nature- it is made by humans. 3) Also some of the bloating and low energy is to do with the cooked food that was eaten before starting on raw vegan. Most people have some kilos of excrement in their intestines from eating cooked stuff, and it takes time for that backed up waste to move out, once someone starts eating raw. When the raw is stuck behind all of that, and not able to get out, it starts rotting and purifying, causing gas and bloating. I had it in the beginning too, when I started out. After a few months the bloating stopped!! It takes patience though and 1 week usually won't be enough to see major differences. (Why is there backed up waste? Because the body is dehydrated from eating cooked stuff that takes moisture out of the body instead of adding it. When someone starts eating the raw living food only, they finally start to rehydrate the body enough to pass the waste they have been collecting for years). You mention that raw is harder to digest than cooked, but usually it is the other way around. The raw stuff is alive, it has all the enzymes in it that are needed to digest it! But when we cook something we denature the enzymes and the body had to make more digestive juice to try and compensate, which takes energy. But it will never be as good as the digestive enzymes that Mother Nature put in the food. When this fast moving matter (fruit) cannot get through the intestine fast enough, because of a blockage caused by what was eaten before, it will start to rot and putrefy. What I've explained is a lot to digest (lol 😂) but I just wanted to explain that the symptoms you experienced are understandable considering your approach and length that you experimented. The way of eating raw has transformed many lives in a positive way, including my own. I got rid of lyme disease, low blood pressure, heart palpitations, being underweight, nutrition deficiencies, malabsorption, acne, and my glasses even! My energy is boundless, like when I was a child. Our approach is crucial though, it makes all the difference!! Fully Raw Kristina, Dr Doug Graham (who wrote the amazing book called 80/10/10) and Ted Carr are hugely inspirational for me. They show a sustainable way to live raw vegan/ fruitarian. Approach really matters 💗

Thanks for sharing your experience guys, don't forget it's not just vegan Vs raw vegan though, as "vegan" sadly isn't enough to protect the planet and animals or our health. Particularly here in the UK you can easily be a junk food vegan who eats things full of palm oil, flown over from wherever, and food that is processed to the max and deep fried etc. Wholefoods, local produce organic where possible and zero waste are all super important for vegans to remember as vegan alone is not enough. Raw or not is down to choice like you said I think xx

So glad you posted this! These are often my thoughts with vegans who get preachy (not pointing at Juliana! Just some people I know). I know vegans who go on and on about the evils of dairy and yet eat products made from palm oil... This just doesn't make any sense. I think we all need to do our own research about specific things and create the best lifestyle you can. This relates to clothing too - wearing polyester sweatshirts that don't biodegrade or last as long as wool from small-scale producers are is necessarily 'better' for the environment. As you mentioned, I think it's best to try to buy things locally if possible, and also from small artisans and sellers rather than big manufacturers.
@coralovesnature

I concur with both of your points 100%! It’s not being vegan alone that makes them healthy; they are healthy because they eat real, wholesome foods, not over processed man-made chemicals. It’s nice to shop locally if you can afford it, but unfortunately some small shops out there are significantly more expensive than stores that are a bit larger (not even necessarily a nationwide chain, but statewide chains or shops that have 2 or 3 branches). There are certain products that I can find for a reasonable price at very local businesses, but there are other products that I could choose between paying all of my bills and obligations or getting the same product that I could get anywhere else for a much lower price. It is a luxury to be able to make certain consumer decisions :)

this sounds so so so much like the conclusions i'm coming up with. i have been 95% raw on 80/10/10 plan for around 7 months. and if i'm honest with myself it is a challenge i've set myself up on, but have not been satisfied with. i am now underweight despite the large qualities of food i've needed to eat. the energy from consuming only raw fruits and veggies can leave me feeling scattered and jumpy. the best energy i've felt is when incorporating some cooked meals. my dosha is vata. makes total sense. it is not "failing" to stray from my fully raw diet challenge. it is more self loving to find what works for my body. and self love is a priority. my body wants more nourishing (always vegan) meals. better energy. i know what i need to do. THANK YOU.

I switched to raw vegan almost 5 months ago. I started with 14 day juicing and then gentle started with RV food. It was supposed to be a 21 day challenge (14 days juicing, 7 days RV). I was inspired by a Facebook group, to be precise, by a couple living presently in Bali, who motivate the group and we all share the recipes, ideas. But when I reached the 21st day, I started to ask myself "and what now"? So i remained. Raw vegan is not just salads and raw veggies. There's so much i had no idea about! Most importantly, I loved everything I found and what I made. And such delicious food it can be created. My parents visited me from my homeland Slovakia over Christmas and a big portion of their food was what i made for myself, incl. morning smoothies, power balls, puddings...and even deserts. True, RV is not for everyone. But it's worth to challenge yourself. For many reasons. And last thing, I'm happy I'm done with the meat! I knew my final day to it will come. And it did 🥰

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! That's what I'm always saying: There is absolutely NO diet that is working for EVERYONE the same way. You have to consider your constitution type (or dosha), the climate and region you live in and even the season. I love raw food in summer, but in winter (livin in Germany) I feel that my body gets too cold, eating much raw food. Also, I love variety and don't wanna limit myself to eating ONLY raw. I love cooked or steamed food, too and so do my children. I wonder a little bit why it has become such a hype to eat raw food, but anyway.. everybody has to find out for themselves what really feels good for body, mind and soul... Keep on doing your fantastic work! You guys are such an inspiration! :)

Thank you. You are inspiring for many people. I eat some raw, especially during the summer months. I do generally heat very gently, greens, lettuce veggies. My Chinese acupuncturist suggested more warming foods. I am Pitta Vata. I do not drink anything that is cold or with ice cubes. My suggestion is to eat what your body draws you to eat. Of course, this is not junk or processed food or sugars or high stimulating ( coffee). I am not a big fan of coffee , so only a cup a few days a week. Then I have organic and add Dandelion to it. For sugar,, I use monk fruit (zero glycemic )and perhaps grate some lemon peel into the cup. Of course eating slowly in a calm centered mind is best.

This video wasn’t at all what I expected. I really like your authenticity. You don’t seem to be so focused on looking a certain way as much as you do on wellness and conscious living, and it seems genuine. This matters. I’ve been inspired recently by some of the vegan videos that are more like this - that focus less on shaming people and more on the bigger picture and the happiness and peace that can come from making conscious choices. I have not gone vegan yet - partially because when I switched to plant based eating I also had a severe digestive reaction and was quite sick for over a month. I did notice some interesting things like a drop in my sugar cravings - but then I got quite sick even though I felt I was following a sensible diet. It was so hard on me that I went back to my more normal way of eating and my body calmed back down after a while. But I am still interested in trying to be more and more conscious about what I put into my body and the systems I participate in. I do think everyone should eat as little meat as possible - and vegan is the ideal. But I’m learning that I need to take this slowly and try to understand my body and do some experimenting as I go along. For now I’m just working on making more meatless meals and decreasing my dairy intake. This is a learning process. I was vegetarian for many years, but vegan is still a challenge for me for several reasons. I have started a gentle probiotic and I’m just going to keep doing research and trying to find a way toward veganism that works for me. And that’s why videos like this are helpful. Because yes many people may see the virtues of veganism. But for many it’s much harder to just jump into it than it is for others. And shaming people just doesn’t help motivate them to change. Shame isn’t a motivator. Lighting the path ahead is what matters. Your energy is very positive and you have a genuine nature. This makes your message ring clear and true. Thanks for a good video, it was helpful to me on my journey.

I love this video 💕 I do have raw vegan days occasionally but mostly in summer where I generally just gravitate towards hydrating fruit and I love having fruit for breakfast but I feel like I wouldn't really enjoy being fully vegan. 80/20 as you said works perfectly for me and in general, I think that listening and learning to listen to our bodies is the most sacred skill we can have tbh.

I've been through the same kinds of fasting / juicing days last month, and I can relate to how unwell you felt. I talked about this to my naturopath, who told me juicing was actually very violent for the body. He advised me to go on a real fast instead, better supported (no food, water only), to have a real cleanse of the digestive system. He also told me about the moon diet, where you fast during 24 hours during the full moon and the new moon, which is supposed to make the fast more efficient :)

Thank you both for your videos, they are inspirational. Also appreciate your honesty. I’m also a believer that we should eat seasonally. I live in Scotland, and I’m from northern and Eastern European background. Raw salad veggies grown locally are difficult to find in the winter, but root veggies are plentiful - they mainly really need to be cooked to be digestible. Raw parsnip 🤔. And also we need the warmth of cooked food in the cold northern countries! I think our genetics also play a part, if my ancestors ate cooked food because of where they lived, and I am made of them, then I need to as well!

With a juice cleanse, you have to prep your body gradually. I wouldn't suggest completly going raw. Warming soups and cooked beans are needed. When making raw vegan food, warming herbs ,spices and enzymes are EXTREMELY important and make a difference. The body does go through a detox process and it takes awhile for the appetite to regulate. I've been eating raw on and off for 11+ years , it does take the body awhile to adjust and their are MANY cookbooks on how to cook a variety of raw vegan food. * By now, I am sure you already know all this.

eating raw takes much longer than a week. even just going vegan can be hard in the beginning but if you keep learning then it becomes good. there is detox especially with raw so your going to go thru some stuff and it could take years for the whole body chemistry to change. raw foods are not harder on the digestion. fruit is actually very easy to digest. I have felt hungry too eating raw but nuts help with that. I guess it could be the body is starving for the raw foods and might be trying to get as much as possible whilst it is available. in anycase it takes a lot longer to get used to eating raw than a week and loads to learn to do it. I think just try eating some raw food and learn as you go along. then if you want to go more raw you will already know what to eat. There is definitely something very different about raw foods. I find cooked food can make me tired and this is apparently coz it is actually hard to digest. cooked food is softer but if you chew the raw food well and get the gut flora in order there is enzymes and bacteria that will digest much better raw. if you do for one week then you still have a cooked food digestive system and are not going to know how it would be after more time.

I'm a vata/pitta as well and I can't eat raw either. I really need more food that's easy to digest like boiled vegetables. And especially in my cold country I need the warm winter veggies and warm oatmeal breakfast :). Realizing that, has been a switch for me. What's healthy for others isn't necessarily healthy for me and vice versa. With eating less salads or 'al dente' veggies I'm more grounded, not eating all the time and I have definitely more energy. Thank you so much for sharing your insights in that! And to conclude that everyone has to find their own best fuel and follow their dosha :).

Nice to see a fellow yoga vegan try a partial raw diet. I view raw food eating the same as any new exercise and advanced yoga. if I try advanced yoga and find it painful or hard then I’d give up and say it’s not for me. For me eating to live and striving to get into those advanced yoga moves is the goal, instead of comfort ;-)

Thank you so much for this video! I have been mostly raw for about 2 years now, with some ups and downs. But I keep trying to push myself to be fully raw, thinking it will make me more healthy, and struggling with it. It feels good at first munching some tasty fruit, but then I’ll start craving some lovely bread. I’m only just coming to realise that perhaps for me a balance between raw and healthy cooked food is best for my body. But this video has really helped me to understand that. Thank you! peace and love.

I think that you guys should try dry fasting. My longest dry fasting was 4 days, but when you start, you should do it progressively, like one day, then two, etc.. In dry fasting, you don't feel nauseous and everything goes better. Just make sure to breathe deeply. I tried fasting with water but then I felt so nauseous and I vomited. Dry fasting is so much more powerful to clean your bodies. Love, Helene

Yeah. I can relate. I started eating a very nutrient dense organic baby spinach salad which was very large with olive oil , coconut vinegar, lemon dressing and blueberries , chopped avocado is also great and had a sun warrior smoothie as well and then I got really tired and could not do anything or did not feel like doing anything - I felt so unmotivated - I was detoxing and a long time ago I was eating sprout salad - mung beans and pea sprouts I think - I sprouted them in a mesh basket and made a sprout salad with those sprouts and a chopped banana and the salad dressing mentioned above and organic sunflower seeds and did this a few times and then got this whopping pain in my head and could only lay down and barely move. Needless to say - I stopped eating that salad. When I eat sprout salads a lot of pent up emotions comes out in my dreams about my family etc., sadness that needs to be released, I guess.

Personally I agree. I know that if I only drank juices, smoothies, and went fully raw It would make me feel light headed and sick. I have tried juicing diets before and they always leave me feeling starving and like I am going to pass out. Plus I like to chew my food. It helps me feel full. I am vegetarian but trying to incorporate more vegan food into my diet. Interesting video! Love your work outs!

Wow! Truly amazing video I really appreciate your honesty and authenticity ♡ Maybe you were thinking about more videos like that? :) I mean just very loose videos when you guys share your experiences or maybe tips about vegan lifestyle or something like that (by the way I truly miss Boho Diaries - you made me cry when i was watching every single episode ! ♡) I'm really curious about your first experiences on vegan diet and maybe how you figured out what to eat through out the day :D I went vegan about 7 months ago thanks to you ♡ at the beginning i experience very similiar symptoms to you trying go raw like lower level of energy, being so unable to focus, being tired all the time but also breakouts and headaches. there was a lot of ups and downs in the beginning but right now I way better than before. I mean I still learning about vegan diet and my body(i still struggling with acne which came out after going vegan) but I feel much more confident in that. I think that going raw is just too much for me at least for now. But i don't know maybe i will try this out in the future. It is always great to challenge ourselves to get to know our vehicle to life better so anyways this kind of things sounds like an amazing and so precious experience♡ oh and thak you for recommending this app 😄 i was looking for something like this for a long time! I send you lots of love and positivity from Poland♡

According to Chinese medicine, the raw food , especially raw veggies, is cold. ( Well, not temperature, this concept is like the energy of the food). So if we put too much cold energy inside human, it breaks our original energy balance. For instance, I have been a vegetarian for quite a long time, I used to eat a lot of salad and raw food but i started to get sick a lot. So i tried to eat less raw food and find the energy balance for my body. Eating more nuts will help if you eat a lot of energy-cold food because nuts have hot energy. Thank you for your diet sharing. Listening to our own bodies is really important.

Raw food may be harder to digest but juicing definitely isn't. Your body will show effects on a juice cleanse but that's a good thing. I find it uncomfortable doing yoga but I know I have to push through and it will come good. I incorporate 3 juices a day as well as a 80/20 diet. It's what works for me but please give the juicing a chance. It really is a benefit to your whole body!

I completely understand what you mean. Me and my partner also did a 'raw week' because we felt quite full of crap after living in China for a while where we didn't eat much healthy food so we wanted to cleanse our bodies. Eating raw was hard but exciting and I was also amazed by the grand effect of food. I felt energetic the whole week but also really light headed which I kinda hate :D So it's definitely an awesome thing to try but I wouldn't do it long term

raw is unnecessarily restrictive. and saying its the most 'natural' diet is ridiculous as well, like hunter gatherers have blenders and dehydrators! after trying that shit it was such a relief to go back to regular old veganism. i do recommend people try it though as you'll never see veganism as restrictive after being raw for a while.
