I made these last week. I used leeks instead of onions because I had them on hand. I live by a Persian supermarket where I can get nice frozen puff pastry. They turned out very nicely. Thanks for sharing.
Sounds great Jean, there's some very good commercial puff pastry on the market today. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment, I do appreciate that. For more of my recipes go to my website at : mr-pauls-pantry.com/
Just discovered you and so happy that I did. Excellent presentation - concise, informative and quiet. Crumpets first then these little beauties. Many thanks
Hi Mr Paul, after watching my 1st video of you making Scottish shortbread, I had to watch another & no doubt I'm going to watch more. You really remind me of my dad, he made things look so easy which gives me the confidence to always give things ago. Thank you again for your beautiful presentation . Bless 🙂😇
I grew up in Scotland and would walk to greggs every school lunchtime and have a cheese and union pastie and apple strudel. Haven't found them here in Melbourne, but now I can try and make my own, great video 👍
Oh those looked delicious. If I saw them in a bakery, I’d probably think they were extremely hard to make and I would never consider even trying to make them. But you made them look so easy to make that I am definitely going to give it a try. My mind is whirling with ideas for additional fillings. I bet they would be a huge hit for a church lunch
I’ve commented on these amazing pasties before but they’re that good I must comment again. They are superb! Greggs, you don’t stand a chance . Absolutely gorgeous. I’ve tried others on RU-vid. Not as good. Thanks for posting, appreciated Mr Paul.
I'm pleased you liked them, perhaps in the future you would be kind enough to send us a photo of your effort, you can do that via my Facebook page, We would love see them.
I've made this twice before, once with mozzarella and once with cheddar. I prefer the cheddar, but my husband liked the mozzarella better. I've also made your toad in the hole recipe, and it was a wonderful introduction to the world of Yorkshire pudding batter. Thank you, Mr. Paul!
Thanks for sharing Amy, it's feedback like this that makes me want to continue passing on the experience I've gathered over the past 60 years, So pleased you enjoyed the Yorkshire Pudding.
Thank you for showing me how to do these pastries, I must have done these about 20 times at least, I and all my friends and family do enjoy them so much, thanks again Mr Paul, and get better soon and hope everything goes well for you.
Hi Brian, thanks for the feedback, I really do appreciate it. I had news from the hospital on Friday that it appears the surgery is no longer necessary, so I'm hoping to be back very soon.
Glad you like them Patricia. Thanks for watching and for taking the time to comment, I appreciate that. I hope you had a Happy Christmas and wish you a better New Year in 2021. Visit my Website mr-pauls-pantry.com/ For more recipes. Stay safe and keep cooking. Love from Spain x
Mr. Paul, I made these last night. They were so good! Thank you so much for your advice on using puff pastry instead of pie dough. These turned out so flaky and they had a nice little crunch. I ate them all myself! LOL! I make it a point to test my cooking before serving it to others. wink wink!
Hi mr Paul I absolutely love, love, love pasties and or pies! And these look positively delectable. As I am a carnivore, I should like to add cheriso or bacon to my mix, really the world is your oyster with the potato, cheese
Hi Tish, I've made them with bacon many time in the bakery but never tried Chorizo, which is strange as we're knee deep in the stuff where I live in Granada. Must give that a go. Thanks for the feedback, it's very much appreciated.
Wow deffinatly going to give these a try, both my husband and I love cheese and onion, I’ve been buying M and S pasties but weather it’s “ health and safety” I’m not sure but there seems to be very little seasoning in anything one buys over the counter these days ( the salt police must have been round 🤔) and it makes for “ tasteless “ produce, I’ve only just come across your lovely straight forward recipes whilst looking for one for a “ custard tart “ I am now binge watching lol I’m going to be very busy over the coming weeks baking lol will be making your custard tart today ready for my daughter coming round for lunch. You also sound as if your a “Yorkshire” lad just like my husband 👍🐾🥰

Hi Steve, I apologise for the confusion. I've had bakeries both in the UK and here in Spain for more than 60 years and at my age I have found it difficult to bake and work the camera, etc. at the same time, not to mention the editing part (Nightmare). I did fork the edges just before egg washing the pasties, unfortunately, that bit of the video vanished in the final version. By the way, Thank You for subscribing, it make a big difference.
Rolling pastry . . . you make it look easy. When I roll pastry it goes everywhere but where I want it to. But I'll keep trying. Thanks for your inspiration and how-to videos. My only suggestion for this video would be to open one up so we can see the interior. But never mind. This inspires me to make my own so I can enjoy! Thanks for all you do. We, your subscribers love the videos. Cheers

These look so tasty, Mr. Paul. I have some homemade savoury pie dough that I've frozen. I'll be making these tomorrow and I'll let you know how they turn out. Thank you so much. Hope your neck is feeling better and better each day. Merry Christmas.
@@MrPaulsPantry Yes, you're right, Mr. Paul. I didn't think of that. I'll get some puff pastry and this way I can make them tonight. Yummy. Thank you for the tip.
These look delicious. I’m going to make them now. How many pasties (your size) does the filling make? I can’t wait to try them. ⭐️ Thank you for the recipe. I love your marking technique by the way, so that you know which pasty it is. 👌🏻
@@MrPaulsPantry thank you, Mr Paul. I made them and they were really good. I had enough pastry for 8. I probably have enough filling left for another 16! ☺️ I will get some more pastry and freeze them.
Glad you like them Robert. Perhaps next time you would be kind enough to send a photo via my Facebook Page, I'm sure there are may who would love to see then, including myself.

I learn a lot from your helpful easy and quick recipes thank you so much for sharing this with us stay blessed healthy happy and make more videos so we can watch and try them lots of love from pakistan❤👍
This is the first video of yours I‘ve seen. I absolutely love your passion for cooking. Subscribed! The only thing I would change is the length of the video, because longer videos get fewer views. For example you could shorten it by only showing one or two pasties being closed or eggwashed. The technique would still come across but it would take less time. Anyway, love the recipe, can‘t wait to try it. Thank you

Hi Mr Paul I must try your cheese and onion pasties I've just finished baking bread your ice cream is total heaven I'm also making friendship bread this when ready will be chocolate and orange it takes ten days before the batter is ready for all the ingredients but it's well worth waiting for I generally give a lot to friends as I do not share the batter

I've been craving these for the past month only to finally go through effort and make them usuing a recipe where they cooked the onions, added all sorts in there like flour and mashed potatoes and they turned out awful. Trying these today!!!
Just made these tonight Paul, and they turned out fantastic, well - mine leaked. I’m not good at the pastry part yet, but I’ll get there. Better than Greggs or Sayers any day! We had some other potato’s going spare too, so I went ahead and made the Potato Cakes recipe from your recent email. Gorgeous! Successful evenings baking/frying.
