I found your channel through your video about running 5k for 30 days. I've wanted to lose weight and get back to running. So far I am 4 stone down and will soon be at a weight where I can start running again. So far I power walk most days. Great video. Great life story.

I am an almost 47 years old single mum from Germany and I took care of my parents until they passed. So I didn’t really work in my profession as an actor for almost 20 years. I did many adverts and little roles for TV, it was always enough for paying my rent and taking care of my kids. When I was ready to get back and even got my first bigger role for more than 15 years, covid hit. The project was cancelled, I stayed at home with my kids and I felt the time just running from me. I had to learn how to make e-castings, but I wasn’t good at this. Then I got diagnosed with ADHD when I was 45, which explained why my biography was so rocky. I felt too old to be back in business. I thought I could never make it anymore in my age. In January 23 I attended a coaching weekend named „who wants to be seen, must show up“. This was a huge mind shift for me, I understood that until I‘m lying in a coffin nothing is too late. Next week, if everything is going well, I‘m flying to Dublin for my first little role in a Hollywood movie. This is insane and just shows, how a short moment can change your life. You just need to take the chances life offers you. Thank you for this inspiring video. It shows that it’s a process to be ready for taking a leap. But it can be the most rewarding thing to do.

I called that. Living a full life. A reminder time we can’t get back. Material items come and go. But time just go. I believe you made the best decision for you. I think you inspiring people like me is something no money can pay. To me you are an incredible person. Please continue your journey so we can be continued to be inspired. My short story is that I was an alcoholic. 3 years a go I found Zwift. As of today I have ridden 43,500 KM, and climb 350,000 meters of elevation

I thinks it’s great that you realised the emptiness so early in life and acted upon your instincts. I had entered the corporate world and gave it my all. Put up with the knuckleheads and the bullying. Eventually learned to give as good as I got. Just became one of them. I hated it and what I’d become. Turned off and that’s when I stopped climbing the ladder. I’m 64 now reasonably senior but through circumstances can’t comfortably retire. I’m overweight, unfit and the only thing still working the way God intended is my hair, at least I have a full head of. The young hotshots at work are giving this dinosaur grief and I feel I’m in that no way out spot. I don’t know what I want to do but I sure know what I don’t want to do. Maybe start small I thought. I watched my first vid of yours a few weeks ago and that inspired my to at least try regain some fitness. 30 minutes of something every day. That’s my bridge.

My 'bridge & back' is cycling from Land's End to John O'Groats. Got hooked on the idea when I did my first cycle from where I live in Hemel to Norwich. Never felt so much elation & euphoria when I achieved it for the first time. Seeing blue-purplish skyline & developing light when I set off early morning & knowing it was just me and the road plus laying out in a cornfield stretching my hams in the middle of Suffolk with the big sky above were amazing emotional epiphanies & images I'll never forget. Lovely & thoroughly enjoyable video Laura.

Hi Laura - an inspirational video for sure. My challenge was picking up the pieces after loosing my business through Covid, and a host of other set backs. All in all 2020 was a disaster. But I lovedteaching art as a business so why not do it online! I had limited funds and only an old laptop and a very cheap mobile phone. But, through determination I reached my personal bridge. My little channel just passed 5K subs and I've taught myself so much - including building my own computer for editing. So, whilst our goals are worlds apart they share the same origins. The desire to achieve something new. Here's to our next adventures 😍😍😎😎 - Best wishes Paul ( aged 63 going on 13! )

Wow!!! I love this story so much. I'm so glad I found you, you give me courage to try and do the things I want to do. I like to think I am brave or some would call me crazy. But in 2019 I sold everything my home and everything in it and convinced my family that traveling the US in an RV would be the best thing for us. We would see amazing things and get to hike some really beautiful trails. So we sold the cars bought a big Dodge Ram 2500 and a Travel Trailer and we are doing it. We did have a bit of a set back when about 3 months into our travels Covid hit and we were stopped. It was a scary time and I thought I had made a huge mistake. But instead of giving up we made a new plan, we sat in an apartment for one year until the vaccine was available, We all got vaccinated and then we tried again. So now we are back out on the road and enjoy the National parks and State parks and all the beautiful trails. I'm not in the best of shape so the trails are a challenge but every time I do one I am so proud of myself. I haven't done a really long one yet but I am working my way to it. You make me feel like that is in my future if I just keep trying. Thanks again for your videos you are such an inspiration!!!

Thanks for this upload. Your story speaks greatly to me but you're far tougher than I'll ever be. Three years ago, due to a burnout, overweight and overall exhaustion, I got really sick (medicine induced hepatitis, went from 92kg to 64kg),I lost my job, dropped out of uni and lost pretty much everything (girlfriend, flat, car, etc) , being forced to return penniless and pretty much homeless to my home country of Switzerland. During all my time as an adult, I wanted to do adventure riding but my family, friends and myself pushed me onwards towards a career that looking back, I didn't really want to get into. To add pain to injury, I had been pushing back a severe case of CPTSD that compounded over the years since my childhood, military service and professional life that didn't really help either. As I got settled in my new existence, like many, struggling with COVID, my CPTSD came back with a vengeance. Now, I'm 42 yo and slowly regaining a love for myself and for what I want to do. My knees were a big reason why I didn't ride more, but now we new therapy (Hyaluronic acid joint injections) I am mostly painless. I'm still in a delicate financial situation but I will hopefully get my disability pension soon and when I do, I'm going for that bloody bridge. On the mean time, I started to workout, with motorcycle riding as main focus. And going swimming whenever my anxiety allows me to. To that matter, I'm finally doing therapy and getting proper medication. Thank you for sharing your amazing story. Not many are willing to be so open about the low spots in their lives but like I you, I agree it gives us perspective on what's important what is ultimately irrelevant.

I cried my way through this touching reflection. I've been watching you for a few years, but I've never seen this one before. Loved learning about your journey. I turned 50 this year. And I like it, though it is a bit disconcerting going through perimenopause while still not knowing what I want to do or be when I grow up. Now I realize there won't be that arrival point where I fogure it out. There is just the next step, and it may be a right step or not, but it will, as you say, lead to another step. And the curiosity of what is next keeps me going. All that I know right now is that, by age 52, I want to be able to do a pull up. Even as a fit high school athelete I never could, so it seems a stretch now as a 300 lbs 50 year old woman, but we'll see where this goal takes me. Thank you for sharing your story and all the work you put into your channel! Really loved your reflection on your path.

I felt like I needed to comment something. I don't really even know how I got to your video. I think I was watching videos about Casio watches and somehow ended up here, watched the video and read the all the stories people have written in the comments. I thank you all! I don't think my story is special, but it's something I'm proud of. I wasn't lost. I had a good life, a solid plan, loved what I studied and did for work. From an early age I had always loved sports. I was never the best at anything, or even average, but I loved the idea of exceeding myself. I ran my first half marathon when I was 18 years old. It was just a silly idea we had with my friend just some months before the race. I had never done anything similar, was in a poor condition, and didn't have enough time to train for it. Somehow I managed to finish the race with a rather horrible time of 2 hours and 26 minutes. I didn’t know why I was in tears, as I finished the race. The achievement didn’t seem to be anything extraordinary, as there were thousands of people crossing the finish line. I wasn’t special or anyhow better than anybody else. In fact I was statistically far worse than most of the runners in the competition. However, I was emotionally moved in a very deep way. I had done something that I truly thought to be impossible only some months before. I had exceeded myself. Obviously I was hooked on running. I ran a half marathon every year. After some years the half marathons turned into marathons, and marathons turned into ultra marathons. I ran a 100 kilometre race and a 24 hour race (147 kilometres). I did a 10 km swim and a 24 hour cross-country ski event. The better I got the further I had to go in order to exceed myself. As I was turning 30 I got obsessed with the idea of becoming a firefighter. Being a firefighter represented all the things I wanted to be. It was about helping others, and exceeding oneself in every possible way. For about two years I tried to forget it, but I finally gave in. I wasn't strong, and spent around two years training strength for the academy exams. I got in, left everything behind, graduated and got a job at the capital fire department. I love my job, and enjoy every single shift I'm blessed with. I'm grateful about all the horrible and happy experiences I get to have. I wish I could go back in time and tell the worse than average me about all the things he would accomplish, and how that feeling of exceeding himself would change him.

Amazing life journey! I subscribed to your channel after watching your video about rowing across the Atlantic, wondering how you got there. I was not disappointed :-) . Spirit is a bit like the flame from a candle, the flame can become dull and die or, like yours, it can glow much brighter. Respect from. 72 years old man. I spent the first 1/2 of my life thinking that life was meant to be enjoyed and sampled a bit like a connaisseur of fine wines and the second half, realising that I had to meet head on the challenges that life was throwing at me. The second half has been very challenging but much more rewarding than the first.

This was beautiful! I’ve fallen down a “rabbit hole” of watching your content today and I refuse to be embarrassed by the number of likes/comments I’ve used on new and older posts of yours LT! Your relatability to others when telling your story is amazing. After watching this I don’t think “now I know her life story” only but also I think “that was INSPIRING!” Thank you for putting the time and effort into all these videos.

Wow. What a great life story. Something struck me as I listened to your narration, you have the perfect voice for reading children's stories. I know they usually like to use 'famous people' for book narration, but you really do have a great tone to your voice. No matter what you do in life, I believe you will always be successful.

Great video and always good to see your creativity in telling a story. What is really interesting for me is that there does not appear to be an easy route to a balanced life, its either running a small successful shop or taking a break from it. Or living in a van and not feeling happy vs aiming to row across the world. It's hard to see a route that does not include extremes between different states. It's great that you have pushed out to those limits of human physical activity because it is inspiring to see.

Well, I'm 83, and have wanted to do a lot of things I didn't do, for one reason or another, but I've also done things that other people think amazing. Today I take care of myself, eat healthy, and am trying, as always, to be the best I can be. I try not to cry over spilt milk, but do so wish I'd have done so many things I wanted to do. Facing life on life's terms, as it is now, is a big achievement in itself, so I'm grateful, and can relate to the Bridge and Back story in so much of my life. You didn't mention marriage, kids, etc. Don't want to be nosey, but how does all that fit in to the story. It's always a trade off, so I chose to be married and raise kids. It takes up some band width. Congratulations on your achievements. So interesting and inspiring. Thank you for sharing all that personal journey with us.

Ohhh Dear Laura... Did your story was needed for me at a better time than now? . The answer is it came at the perfect moment!!! Thank you for posting it and for showing women how we can change our lives; and I do know you have inspired me greatly to make that "walk to the bridge" in my own world. Lots of love from Central America...., San Carlos Beach, Panama

This was so beautiful and inspiring. I'm so glad I found it. I ended a beautiful relationship with my first boyfriend. He wasn't bringing joy to my life. He was stressing me out. And I've been having to start over and move forward. This encourages me and inspires me that I can still have wonderful things. And I can do it on my own. Thank you for sharing your beautiful story!!!

@@LauraTryUK it’s actually leaving corporate world behind and I’m now in the driving seat of a start up company. Which is how I found you, the Google gods worked their magic and from my searches of sustainable footwear (I was carbon accounting for an endurance runner) - your profile came up and rest is history. I’ve enjoyed the artists way and slowly reigniting the passions I lost from my childhood after I had my own children.

Thank you for sharing your life with us, to listen to you feels always so inspiring. My parents always told me that with art you can’t even win a flowerpot so I am afraid of doing only art at all and that’s why I am not willing to give up my advertising agency. But when I look at you then I admire you for your mental strength and the “I will make it” mentality. And sometimes I ask myself “why not do it too”?
