Just wanted to let you know the orange "space snakes" are full of xp for free upgrades. They don't attack and won't loop the screen like other enemies. They also drop the rainbow boost and rerolls

Getting Strafe and never using it is a shame, I feel like it was the perfect movement option for you :D It lets you accelerate to high speed instantly by using shift + forward, very useful for body damage builds.

This game looks absolutely amazing the simple HUD, the clean graphics, the ingenious upgrade mechanics, super replayablity, the sound design, the music, this shit is the upgraded version of my childhood space shooter game and made it up to today's standard and beyond, it's amazing

I absolutely adore nova drift, so I'm happy to see Tyler playing it. Something I'd love to see you give a shot is a construct focused build, namely: Engi + Ally Engi + Drones Engi + Turret Architect + Turret Architect + Mines All of them are a ton of fun, and unlock fairly early. One thing to take note of however, is that it's better to focus on getting one highly upgraded construct vs all of them

Those enemies upgrading over time reminds me of Warning Forever, which is a game where you continually kill a boss, and each time it dies, it comes back with a new modification to counter how it was defeated last time.

I love how the title seems to parallel how you titled the first episode of Vampire Survivors. This seems like VS in space, very clever!

I absolutely love nova drift, this game rules so much I just wish more people knew about it.

Been playing this for a month or so. As you surmised, it has a surprising amount of depth. That plus the active development makes this more than worth the money. (sound was fine, could hear your dulcet tones throughout)

Wait until you get wild mods. Those bring the game to a whole new level. One thing is to maybe try the arrow keys on the keyboard next time you do a hullbreaker build.

Work thru the hp regen (do not get rapid reconstruction) tree, the projectile size tree, and the split shot tree untol you get singular strike. You literally become a black hole

Couple things you should play with wild mods on as soon as you get the chance. Adds a ton of variety to the game. Also, Cargo Trains, (9:32), are super good. They drop a ton of xp and can drop a power-up that increases your damage and fire rate. I enjoyed the video and hope to see you play more.

fuck yeah! i love nova drift, been waiting for someone to play it for a while! personally my high score is like 1.8 mil, but it’s been a bit harder since enemies 2.0 (the newest update). one of my favourite builds is singular strike salvo architect mines

Love your vids! I was wondering when will we see more strange horticulture? The story line alone is captivating and you do such a great job on it.

Nova Drift! Hunting all the achievements for this game was TOUGH! I recommend playing this game with a gamepad, because using the edges of the screen to loop around is very important and the aim-to-mouse control scheme makes it much harder to maintain a stable trayectory.

Learning at your own pace is a great way to enjoy the game. A few important things to note. One. This game is notably easier (for me at least) with a controller. Two. The little stars following you are xp they disappear after a certain time limit. THEY ARE NOT AUTOMATICALLY GAINED. They take time to pick up, going too fast makes it hard or impossible to gain. Three. The orange snakes/supply trains that go across the screen and leave boxes when destroyed give large amounts of xp and even some bonuses like extra perk rerolls or boosts.

This game looks pretty nice! I'm sure me and many others wouldn't mind seeing you play this with different strategies

This game gets insanely difficult as you unlock new stuff, you get all new weapons and upgrade paths, as well as repeatable upgrades. Loads of fun!

Nova Drift! I love this game and it's always interesting to see how different youtubers approach it. Speaking of, well done on the crash build, I've always found them much harder to manage, baring shenanigans that require later unlocks. A minor tip that you might not be obvious to try: Turn on speed running mode. It doesn't really change the game, but it does give you a display that shows the names of bosses and what wave you're on, which can be really helpful for tracking where you are in the game. Also, I want to point out how good this game is at using visual tells to give you information. For example, Skirmish gives you an aura when you've fired and have a stronger shot charged up, while having your stronger shots charged up makes your targeting beam brighter.

You finally played this. I played this a lot about 2-3 years ago and I recently (read: Last week or so) played a few more games of it after the new huge patch. It's really good

I played nova drift last year for a bit all I can say homing Rockets are beyond broken and I wouldn't want it any other way

You should always have all the difficulties on since they give you both score and XP multiplayiers so you will have more unlocks higher leaderboard and upgrade your ship faster

Really fun build for those of us who have played before Pulse, warp shield, sentinel. Full lean into singular strike, rupture, tempest break, and phantom strike (plus anything that gives you blast radius or shield radius/effect). The idea is you run (or blink) into a large enemy, break your shield, and basically nuke the entire screen with volatile shields and an empowered pulse

I think you did an excellent job commentating considering the gameplay. Fun game. These videos are always they highlight of my day after school. Also catching up on inscription at the moment as well as baba is you. Love the content!

This game can have some overpowered or just incredibly fun upgrade combos. I loved the combo of max drones on engineer chassis with overseer (double construct amount but you can't use main weapon) and the upgrade that makes the constructs have my shield instead of me. When combined with the pulse shield which pushes projectiles away, because of like 12 drones that were orbiting me with a shield for each of them. Because the effect stacked, the enemy projectiles basically changed directions before coming in contact with me.

ngl i was kinda sad that today's upload wasnt strange horticulture BUT THIS WAS SO EXCITING! Literally when he died I had to rewind and do a play by play cuz the bullet hell got so insane. Love being introduced to new games i never would have found on my own!!

I hope this game comes to either switch or console one day

3:36 Fun fact, the ship is actually a biomechanical living organism! It has no driver, because it's alive.

the best way I could describe nova drift is if dead cells and asteroids fused, enemies attacks are unknown till you either die or dodge them, you don't know what upgrades/weapons are good or bad and after you beat everything, it just gets harder. some tips, 1 learn the skill trees, god I don't know how many times i spent upgrades on one tree to get a super upgrade to only find out its the other one(its colour coordinated). 2 only go hyper aggressive if your build allows it(to a degree) don't go rushing in with engineer with only movement upgrades, kamikaze only works logically with 2 or more people. and lastly 3 ignore everything I said and have fun, nova drift is an excellent game with tons of creativity, have a swarm of drones with grenade mini guns, turn yourself into a dying star or even be a walking wall of "fuck you" reflecting all attacks back to the opponents, just have fun.

This games visuals reminds me of reassembly, which is another REALLY REALLY good spaceship game. You get to run a spaceship, run around, collect materials, upgrade your ship, reduild it, and after long enough you can get a factory and produce ai controlled fully customisable follower ships. Its really fun and you can easily sink 20-30 hours into it without running out of content. Even after that there's extensive modding support, and tons on the workshop. You really should give it a shot i think it would be right up your ally, it has a bit of learning curve, but good tutorials. your good enough at game it should not impede you to much. Reassembly on steam, give it a look.

I know that you're pretty new to Nova Drift and had no way of realizing, but Celestial Lance is absolutely insane for crash/burn builds. Every time it got offered and you didn't take it, I died a little inside.

I really hope you do more of this in the future!

Just a small tip for the next time you play this game, if you have armor stacks and have the rebuke skill, try to not shoot your gun if you take massive date as it lowers your health regen. Also can't wait to see you messing around with super mods when you unlock them

Health regen exists without the upgrade. But upgrade makes it even faster. You can skip weapon, shield and mody upgrades (sometimes running vanilla shield can be fine)
