Thanks for the videos. Are you interested in putting out real-life informational videos for beginners? I think there are a lot of people like me, who got licensed but still haven't picked up how to practically use their radio. The local "elmers" don't seem very interested in new people.
What are you wanting? Can you put a frequency in the radio? Can you program a repeater? If you can do both those with you radio you are doing good. Most the stuff I'm teaching is more in the tactical realm and doesn't have anything to do with a license. What radio do you have? Tech or General license?
What antennas are on the 878? I’ve been using a comet bnc24 and it’s a great antenna but I’d like something smaller with bnc for in my chest rig or plate carrier
il stick with the RT86 ,, it kicks 10watts out on uhf and has inbuilt scrambler and only costs 30 dollas a radio ,,,, as nice as DMR is the anytone costs to much, and u only got it to get a tax return for sure,,,,,,if i was to go DMR i would go for a better cheaper radio that kicks 10 watts out for 60 dollas to keep in touch with family
Wondering the same. I'm not familiar with Anytone radios, but hearing some good things about them. Quick image search appears to me to be the 878 model. I own a Yaesu VX-6R for many reasons including the very wide receive (including shortwave!) and they are submersible. I like having a waterproof radio for outdoor use, but you need a TNC to use packet or other digital modes. I'm curious about these Anytone radios if I could interface with an Android device or laptop.
