Once again I think you show a very learned perspective on what you like and don't like about the game based on all of your experience of Rivals 1. You put into words a lot of what people like and don't like about Rivals 1 over many other platform fighters and expressed your concern about how those translate to the second game. In this way, you show genuine concern for the longevity of Rivals and that's what I think makes your takes and opinions so credible. Keep it up man.

I agree with basically all of your points. The sound design is definitely bad but I think Dan said that all the sounds effects are basically place holders

I mean, I get where you're coming from, fam. But you gotta remember this is pre-alpha. We're not even on Beta yet. Im sure they're aware of the things missing and all the things they want to add. Same thing happened with Rivals 1. Sound design, animations, overall presentation was a thing that came little by little. That being said, I completely understand the cause for concern, cuz I want this game to thrive like no other plat fighter has thrived before!

I feel like visually Zetter looks too friendly and Ranno looks to impersonal. In Rivals 1 Zetter just had a more fierce personality. In this game he looks like he is smiling all the time which is weird for a lion as fierce as Zetter. Ranno has weird frog eyes which are visually inconsistent with the other characters that have more human-like eyes. I agree with a lot of what you said. Rivals 2 looks good but we really want it to look great. 💪🏽

Leffen also mentioned that the sound could improve, so he agrees. He made a comparison to Melee Fox upsmash, and also mentioned that characters should grunt when being hit.

I hate the 3D look, it seems like the personality from rivals 1 has been ripped away to the point where it feels like a generic smash clone.

bro idk why they dont just copy the movement and everything about the first engine 1:1 with just a 3d paint over. some devs are fucking clueless and are against making new stuff 1:1 they want their own lil original garbage touch to things to make it bEtTeR in their delusional mind. ppl dont want something new like that they want the same shit but looks new like wtf is wrong with them. I am interested in the ledge system rework tho
